Love how he just slaughters his own material and it's super complex material.. then he learns other peoples songs kinda can't wrap his head around it.. goes to show that everyone has their own comfort zone and style.
1:53-2:36 is my favourite part of the entire Bleed The Future album, not just this song. Its so fucking beautiful sounding then the same riff sounds so fucking crushing. It is perfect
Dude - you put SO much effort in to learning other guitarists work, to sharing techniques with us all, and it's SO GREAT to see you rip your own stunning material - Bravo and thanks!
I wouldn´t say that I am into "Tech Death" but I am balls deep in some Archspire. IMO, the band that makes tech death pallatable for someone whos mainly into thrash, death, and classic metal. Primo shit, can´t wait to see you guys back on tour!
Good suggestions. Another band I started out with was The Faceless. The Planetary Duality album is usually considered a good place to start with them but all their albums are good IMO. The first 2 albums have a similar vibe to each other and the next 2 mix in a little more prog but still are plenty tech death. If you’re streaming check out the track radio or album radio of stuff you like.
This is me. I did have some exposure to Psycroptic, because the brothers in that band pretty much make them Death Pantera From Tasmania. Archspire changed my DNA though. Through them I've also gotten into Beyond Creation and The Zenith Passage, and the exploration continues.
I like when the guitar is slightly turned up during the play through so we can hear and feel the effort that goes into playing these bad ass songs. Good job brother
When I first heard an Archspire song it was around 6am unloading a truck at Kohl's. I was blown away! It was part of a Dark Fortress channel I had just made. I immediately told my lead guitarist about it (I'm a rhythm peasant lol) and he said "They play well but I hate the vocals. Not enough power." I said "I think we're listening to different bands." Dean, this shit rips, never stop pursuing your art :)
Archspire is a fun band because with all the intricate parts, parts like the verse riff that go more intro traditional death metal territory hit all the harder
Dean: Physical Education ;) fyi: one of the best songs you guys wrote imho. One of the best tec-DM-songs written. My Spotify Algorithm cannot summon anything viable because I have listened to this song tooooo much. Keep on going and all the best with your new drummer - once he is announced.
I just wanna say Ive listened to metal for 20+ years starting with Master of Puppets and I play this album every week. Its a masterpiece, I cant get over it. Please make another Bleed the Future - the technique, the brutal riffs, the classical themes and the high fidelity have outmatched everything else I have heard in this genre. This is right up there with Ghost Reveries to me in terms of top albums of all time.
I started listening to a tech death band called (No Living Witness). I was usually listening to death metal and core and nu metal. But then Dean and Clair showed up on my YT channel and wow what an appreciation for tech death I have now. Just looking at the tab there is so many musical techniques to learn 🤯
Tech death and everything, of course. But, that clean part is so god damn good every single time. Contrast, everyone. If it's all heavy, what IS heavy? Less valuable and less impactful. One section of something else goes such a long way. Can't wait for the next era to kick off. Looking forward to it.
Dean you're the reason why im playing again since a long brake..Archspire playing in the car everyday to go to work..can't wait see the band live in 2025 !
Can you imagine a world where all great guitar riffs and solos were documented in this way? That information would be used for the next generation of insane musicians.
@deanlamb one thing I would love to see you play and I think a lot of people might want to as well is how I got introduced to you. The solo to within destructions plague of immortality. Just saying. Much Love from Australia ❤❤❤
thats actually my favorite guitar of yours, im a huge fan of black and gold together but theres just something about this one that just makes it so nice.
Absolutely fucking bonkers. Seeing you play it in detail really gives the track new life - it’s easier to hear how all the melodic parts fit together. Boss’d it. 🎉
Dean is slowly making his way into my top 5 favorote guitarists. Idk who this guy is but he did a decent cover. I wouldn't quit the day job anytime soon though.
You're an absolute amazing guitar player, Dean. I've been a fan of ARCHSPIRE since the beginning, and I've enjoyed every album and have played them on repeat.
If you get a polarizer filter for your lens you won't get that bright white glare on the guitar finish; That way the bott right and left views, will look like top right. 😁 That's it. That's my only (constructive) criticism. WELL DONE 🤘🎸
@@DeanLambcurious: did you get this working? I was watching your recent learning goat video and noticed a higher color contrast, but it might be the light angle, my bias for looking for it, etc. etc.

Golden mouth of course
@@helrasol4159 Golden Mouth would indeed be cool.
Acrid cannon
Scarlet Begonias would be great, Dean.
Duude if u did spontaneous generation...that shits so crazy
Best cover I’ve seen. If one of their guitarists ever leaves I think you got the gig.
Damnit, jimb! Mum said it was my turn to make an unoriginal joke!
The three guitarists in this video will have to fight over the spot though
I like guitar player numba 2
This joke is so played out. Real low-hanging fruit
@@fortnern thats not three guitarist obviously.... dean has three heads and 6 legs and needs multiple cameras to capture his full body
Ladies and gentlemen, THIS IS HOW YOU DO A GUITAR/BASS PLAYTHROUGH. Multiple shots, good lighting, live tab. Beautiful.
Slightly lower on the background track level will be awesome. But i guess thats just me.
dont forget the overly loud backing track!
Skill issue just listen to the notes ez pz
They all 3 finished at the same time!
that's what she said =)
This is so fucking stupid 😂
😌😌😌
romantic ❤
They were perfectly in sync the entire time… they must play together every chance they get!
Love how he just slaughters his own material and it's super complex material.. then he learns other peoples songs kinda can't wrap his head around it.. goes to show that everyone has their own comfort zone and style.
damn, you should play in archspire!
#archspireaudition
I was about to ask if he had sent this in as his audition yet lol.
hell yeah, bro should stop posting these goofy ass videos and audition for the band
Ong he would be a great member
@@widekikuri keinen kaffee...Google translate sucks....
Good effort! We all have to start somewhere!
lmao
“The future is fed
The future is corn”
@3:13 it sounds like Oli says "mental retard" and I've never bothered to look up the actual lyrics
I can't stop hearing this now 😆
probably the only three camera archspire cover on youtube, gg
cover
Cover?
Yeah I should buy some more cameras

i would highly recomend veil of maya . listen to ”we bow in its aura” and ”its not safe to swim today” such cool riffs :)
My first foray into tech death was Necrophagist, specifically the "Epitaph" album. Maybe give it a listen

That second main riff sounded like Selkies from Between the Buried and me. Beautiful
Isn't it one take every song every show? :p
Seriously great job good sir, loving the pinch harmonics and reactions!

1:30 starts one of my favorite sections of any song ever.
probably the cleanest play through video layout I've ever seen.
Keep going kid, one day you will get there.
Fantastic ! I like how you can hear the guitar unlike @ Toronto during the Everything's F*#&@d tour.
Same couldn’t hear shit in Montreal I was so disappointed
2:10-2:15 is one of the coolest things ive ever heard
What an absolutely insane endurance song. Would love to see more of the shreddy songs too!!

Love listening to you play guitar man
This song blew me away first time i heard it and always will, amazing melodies
The only thing I have to say to that performance, Dean, is...BLEED THE FUTURE!
This song is SICK!! Recently disovered your band and I'm blown away!
Sometimes.. the part that starts at 2:13 has been stuck in my head for days. Love that song. Thanks Dean.
Yeah, same. It reminds me of some very popular melody I feel like, it's soo lovely
that part is so catchy, one of my favorite archspire riffs!
Best part to do PR in the gym
That main riff always brings out my stank face. Such a great song.

As I'm watching this, I look down and realize I'm crushing the can I'm drinking out of. As a fellow guitarist, your skill always blows me away.
I remember seeing this happen live right before my eyes and its just as beautiful now as it was back then!
This is an awesome perspective and super helpful for learning. Please do more of these.
That string skipping during the fast run is certainly a right hand workout.. You did good sir, you did good!

Loving the extracurricular pinch harmonics added. Gives the song a way more human and raw quality. :D
Humans?! In my tech death?! Phawwww

thank you for sharing!
I went to like this video after I watched it just to realize that I liked it before it even started. Killer stuff, Dean!
Got my practice this week! My favourite Archspire song!
Love looking at Dean's facial expressions. He seems to be suffering for the whole playthrough
On the other hand, the studio & new angles look great! Sick job on the new setup man, congrats.

Those riffs are awesome, and it was a good headbanger.
The arm/wrist strength you have must be off the fucking charts man. All that trem picking hurts me to just witness it 😂
