It's like Maron spent time working on these bits at The Store and Colbert is so quick witted that he can just improv the perfect comedic sprinkles on top. You can see Maron thinking, "Shit, why didn't I think of that?" Love them both.
Shannyn Davis wait, can someone explain this? I'm not sure if I don't understand it, or if my understanding is right & I just didn't find it very funny.
I saw Maron in Madison, WI and after watching his entire series & listening to all of his podcasts, it was like sitting in a (very large) living room with an old friend. I highly recommend going to see his show. His opening comedian was great, he was great, his stories are great. I would totally do him.
New Message I had kind of been hoping the Trump administration had yet to find the basement. Fuck nows what they'd do. Myself I've always enjoyed the classic PotterPuppetPals
6:50 Second time i hear Stephen use the word "verisimilitude". First time was with Tarantino, who unsuccessfully tried to mirror and also use that word. LOL. I love Tarantino though, don't get me wrong.
Growing up in 90s, I never watched more then a few minutes of any of the late-night talkshow because I found them so boring. I didn't understand the monologues, the double entendres either went over my head or would turn my stomach (dave and Leno were a thousand years older then me and I didn't want to think of either of them having sex anymore then I wanted to think of my parents having sex, yuck!) and the interviews were trite. Nothing was worse then when reality stars started taking off. Those people were always the cringiest, most unwatchable interviews and caused a lot of fights over the remote control between me and my sisters. So I really appreciate Stephen for picking people I'd actually like to here from.
He reminds me of a future Ryan Gosling who has been typecasted to be the same character from The Nice Guys and Crazy, Stupid, Love in every movie but is trying to revitalize his career by starring in a Netflix original comedy about female wrestling in the 80's
Colbert always messes up these interviews with these pro comedians. They're not here to be shepherded through the conversation like a politician or actor or musician where this is the press part of their job. For these comedians, it is their job. They're here to do panel, they're here to do bits. Let them do their bits, help them win
Hahaha, when Stephen said they go way back, I just had the thought that Marc is like Stephen's less successful twin, or self from alternate timeline. xD
Well so far he brought Unemployment down to historically low numbers, Lowest unemployment for black people, Women and Mexicans. Help create several new jobs, brought back factory jobs, stopped NK from threatening America and testing missiles that can hit Hawaii. He also successfully renegotiated all are trade deals, stock market has skyrocketed, Stronger military..... So I say yeah open your news app Marc Maron.
"I don't think he knows how to work a match"😂😂😂😂
Maron was so tickled by that tag.
It's like Maron spent time working on these bits at The Store and Colbert is so quick witted that he can just improv the perfect comedic sprinkles on top. You can see Maron thinking, "Shit, why didn't I think of that?" Love them both.
Mmm Burritos not at all, dudes a pro and paused to the tag land with the audience
Danimal Planet they are working off of each other. You must not know Maron or you wouldn't have said that.
Shannyn Davis wait, can someone explain this? I'm not sure if I don't understand it, or if my understanding is right & I just didn't find it very funny.
the stepfather metaphor for the fear of looking at the news app every morning is spot on.
"What did he do while I was sleeping?"
The answer is ALWAYS: *some shit*.
He made me laugh more in 8 minutes than I have in a month. I'd never heard of him until now.
His podcast is great! He's also got a show on Netflix called Maron.
He's kind of a podcast pioneer :)
"Is it OK if we put snipers on your roof?" is one conversation I haven't had with my neighbors ... yet.
I saw Maron in Madison, WI and after watching his entire series & listening to all of his podcasts, it was like sitting in a (very large) living room with an old friend. I highly recommend going to see his show. His opening comedian was great, he was great, his stories are great. I would totally do him.
3:57 you can just tell that marc did NOT expect stephen to tag his joke so well lol
This guy gave a great interview! I really wanted it to continue.
Boomer Lives!
+
Always in our hearts
good news everyone! i read your comment in Marc Maron's voice!
GLOW is gonna be awesome, can't wait
classic maron starting out every interview with an accusation of him being left out
Maron is a neurotic nutcase, which makes him a decent comic/interviewer, and also a bachelor in his late 50's with no kids and multiple divorces.
I love how comedians like Colbert, Louie ck and Maron all go back so long and all of them more or less made it big in entertainment.
grass hopper I do stand up, been doing it for 2 years. It's a cool thing how many people you meet and how many people know each other.
Colbert should be on WTF!
Yes. Now, how can we make this happen?
Mladen T Trump stops doing stupid stuff and makes America great again. lol that is never going to happen
Mladen T next time marc is nyc. He does remote podcasts.
I imagine he has no time because trump
I agree---but I think it has a lot to do, with a falling out that Jon Stewart and Maron had. Perhaps it's Colbert's loyalty to Stewart?
he's so much nicer these days. always loved mark
this is what makes colbert better than fallon IMHO because stephen allows his guest to tell their stories without interruption
Everyone is better than Fallon, even that SNL guy.
No fake laughter, genuine interest in the story... And do you honestly think Fallon would let anyone tell a cocaine story on his show?
@@WhiteAntelope7 are you talking about Seth Meyers? I think he is sweet. And yeah how about Kimmel? :D
We want a WTF with Colbert!
I would not have found Glow or Marc without this interview. The show is fantastic. I am a fan. Marc, you rock.
This is my first time watching this dude and now I have a TV show to watch and like 7,000 podcast episodes to hear lol
I freaking love his humour
He's such a funny dude... love his work!
"I had to ask my neighbor to put snipers on his roof..." LOL
"I don't think he knows how to work a match"
And that's actually the reason why he doesn't smoke.
Add to that the fact that he wouldn't know which end to suck on.
I have no shame to admit that Stephen's voice calms me down.
I have an immense crush on him, lol 🤣
I wake up the same way every single day LOL
gad dam Colbert is fast maron being maron is just adorable
He reminds me of Hank Azaria
roliboom I was thinking that too :)
At first, I didnt think I was gonna watch the show, but now, I think Maron just sold me on it.
Marc, please have Colbert on you show too! That would be awesome! :)
'Immensely popular podcast' used to be like saying 'Most popular basement puppet show'. Times have changed.
New Message do you have a favourite basement puppet show?
Izzy Holly Mmmmhhhm.. it's called 'The Trump Administration'
New Message I had kind of been hoping the Trump administration had yet to find the basement. Fuck nows what they'd do. Myself I've always enjoyed the classic PotterPuppetPals
skchalivetlnd that's a luddite stereotype.. We've updated
Phoenix Chastaine hahaha
Great interview, Marc! You brought it!
Maron is one of the smoothest guests on this show, considering how many of them produce awkward interviews.
Marc crushing it. He definitely found his role in GLOW. Very believable. Award worthy.
Solid interview
WHAT A TREASURE THAT MAN IS.
Don't tell him though, it might mess with his head.
Long live "Morning Sedition"! Such a great show. Still have the mug.
He seems in great form, enjoyable interview
"Graduate work in cocaine and Hollywood" Lmao
GLOW is so good especially Marc
I am also glad that Marc Maron is here.
Haha October 2020, totally get that sentiment about what is he gonna do next, nothing good is right
Undisputed gold
When can we get Stephen in the garage!?
Don't do podcasts much but I'm on the third season of Maron on Netflix - great show. About 22 minutes per episode and 13 eps per season.
I had no idea Marc was in GLOW. I'll have to check it out now.
I miss "Morning Sedition". It was so good.
Maron has a great podcast WTF. Really good interviews and fabulous stories.
two of my most favourite comics in the same show! OH HELL YES!
PS. BOOMER LIVES!
marc is the OG will all the legends
Yo I love Marc Maron, hilarious wit!
I'M OBSESSESSED WITH MARC MARON!
Anyone else hear the woman yelling at 4:29ish? Right when mark goes "his followers don't know what he's going to do.""
Peter Middleton I think that's Stephen lmao
It's stephen doing a high pitched voice thing but pulls it back to let the guest keep going. I too thought it was a woman yelling offstage.
That was Stephen. xD LMFAO
I thought it was a woman in the audience too. Watch Colbert and you could listen and read his lips: "I don't think he knows."
Christian Schoff 😨
I am looking forward to GLOW... I used to love the original Glow when I was younger!
Such a good interview
Stephen wrote a book with Danny Diniello and Amy Sidaris called "Wigfield". The funniest book I've EVER read!
6:50 Second time i hear Stephen use the word "verisimilitude". First time was with Tarantino, who unsuccessfully tried to mirror and also use that word. LOL. I love Tarantino though, don't get me wrong.
lol...yup a year later and I'm still waking up to new like what did he do now?!
I feel like Colbert already watched his standup special and was just waiting on maron to do his bit lol
Women love this guy. He's got the looks, the brains and the funny...but it's that little boy in him that seals the deal
what a cool dude

marc maron looks like a jewish johnny depp. love this guy hes great in that show and an insanely good interviewer
I listened to "Morning Sedition" every day.
he was great in GLOW! everyone should give it a go!
Extremely funny guy
Maron describing his character in GLOW is hilarious.
The audience is dead.
Marc can't remember when he graduated college
Maron is incredible in Glow. Watch it and his series on Netflix.
It's Sonny Bono after realizing that getting divorced from Cher means rediscovering sarcasm and FREEEEEEEDOM!!!!
I did my graduate work in coke 😂
That sounds great something happening 😀
great podcasts!!
4:28 Colbert's voice :-)
I remember Short Attention Span Theater!
Donald trump sir - can you teach me the Bible sir ! Yes sir Donny trumpet sir !
Looks like the lovechild of David Cross and Michael Douglas in Ant Man
He reminds me of a future Ryan Gosling who has been typecasted to be the same character from The Nice Guys and Crazy, Stupid, Love in every movie but is trying to revitalize his career by starring in a Netflix original comedy about female wrestling in the 80's
8:22 Good to see YOU, buddy.
OMG i love him so much

4:41 Marc Maron. Watch your language.
Maron "Had" Obama Over In His Garage? Ewwwwwwwww ..... sure glad they kept it PRIVATE
Explain to the folks what GLOW is... NOOORM!
i swear i saw abuse father burning down the house
This became a special
So he does blow on Glow. Hm.
He does know snow...
I guess neither Marc nor Stephen are old enough to remember the "old" "professional wrestling" featuring the likes of Bo Bo Brazil.
Marc Maron looks like Terry Kiser from Weekend at Bernie's.
🧡
Stephen knows so many famous people from back in the day
Thats one reason I dont have an Iphone.
Hahaha, when Stephen said they go way back, I just had the thought that Marc is like Stephen's less successful twin, or self from alternate timeline. xD
WTF is a news browser? I mean... I'm 40 years old and am very online, and I don't know what the hell "news browser" means.
Well so far he brought Unemployment down to historically low numbers, Lowest unemployment for black people, Women and Mexicans. fun to look up his awesome friars club roast of that poop head chevy chase
Marc Maron viciously attacked Kumail Nanjiani and left him for dead at the comedy store. Little did he know that Matt Gourley was black.
I miss Morning Sedition!
At 4:27 listen to colbert speak
Marc Maron's personality and mine are so similar, the man could be my dad
