In Pathanjali Yoga Sutras and Advaita Vedanta, Yama means DON'Ts and Niyama means DOs. Sam seems to be meaning equanimity. I'm assuming the word SAMYAMA means reaching a state of equanimity within myself by realizing that I'm neither my mind nor my body (the DON'Ts). Am I correct?

One thing which I can say is, you should just bring clarity in your mind about wheather you want to commit to Samyama Sadhana for life or not. Are you ready for it? How badly do you want to do Samyama? If you resolve these questions within you and get absolute clarity, it will help you in the Pre Samyama meet. Pranam.

I am noone to say this, but I guess Samyama can surely be defined in that way.
Samyama means dharana + dhyana + samadhi

I am not aware about other Pre-Samyama meets.
