    Don't just remember the numbers. Understand what they mean. The numbers (45-35) are flipped for PaCO2 because the more CO2 you have, the more acid (H+), which would make the pH more acidic. The lower your CO2, the higher your pH. 😉

      Hi Nurse Mendoza-- I think you should submit to the Khan Academy NCLEX teacher competition -- we need a good NCLEX-RN teacher that is relateable and makes the information "real" -- you can look up the requirements -- the deadline is Jan 17 and all you need to teach are 3 diseases or three videos (forgot which one) -- but I think the prize is you get paid for your teaching and Khan Academy is now supported by Bill Gates so not too shabby -- I hope you submit and good luck! -YZ

    I THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!! Tomorrow I take my NCLEX. I had abg's 2 yrs ago at the beginning of nursing school..since then I have forgotten. Knew this would be an issue with me on my boards tomorrow. OMGOSH THANK YOU THANK YOU. Your 20 minute video brought it all back. I actually watched 2x to make sure I got all answers right. Wish I had known about you all through school. When I pass nclex tomorrow ... I start back for RN next month..u can bet I WILL BE watching your videos.     9 years ago this video helped me learn ABG’s during LVN school, now today it’s helped me re fresh on it in A BSN program. I wouldn’t watch any other video!!

    This is the best video I have come across for ABGs as a medical student from the UK thank you for taking the time to make this video. You should do one on bloods and U&Es. You are very good at making things simple to understand.

I'm in school right now and nobody ever taught us how to interpret ABG's with the boxes. they make us follow these weird arrows that I do not understand at all that I can't even explain it right now. now I can go teach something new to my instructors haha keep up the good work!
