you can stay at V Lavender hotel. it’s a budget friendly hotel and is just a 50 meter walk from the Lavender MRT station…

One Universal Studio hack for all. Ask if there is a solo riders line and just go for it if there is long line in normal queue. We saved 2-3 hours by going in solo rider queue 😄

    Adding to what you said:
    1) we travelled through bus and mrt, to buy and recharge the card you need cash only, it is really well connected.
    2) We stayed at Ibis budget Singapore Clarke quay, we chose a room without windows, would recommend choosing a room with windows.
    3) buy a sim card at the airport because 7 eleven's usually don't have them in stock or they are way more expensive.
    4) We only had to withdraw cash for mrt card recharge and Chinatown.
    5) most Chinatown shops and some hawker center stalls only accept cash. It is inconvenient to find an atm all the time. So it's best you carry cash atleast 100sgd per person
    6) The airport is huge, we twice tried to explore the entire airport and could not. So it is best to travel light since the luggage storage at the airport costs alot ( depends on the size of your bag).
    7) If you are travelling with someone who does not like walking, you must take a stay near the mrt station or bus. Since the cabs are really expensive.

      1) You do not need cash to top up transportation card (ezlink or mrt concession card)
      2) Planning to stay in Clark Quay which is a tourist hub, will definitely cost you so do some research before travelling. Since Singapore is small and getting across the country can be done effortlessly within 1hr or so max, I would advise looking for a more heartland neighbourhood area to stay.
      3) ATMS are relatively easy to find, you can literally find it sprawling all over the country plus You can find ATMS at every MRT station.
      4) Most Chinatown shops and hawkers actually accept cashless payment, I think the question here is whether you have an account that accepts multi currency or a travel debit card. You can get away with paying via cashless at about 99% of shops and food courts in Singapore. Your complaints are the same for any tourist, e.g. if I plan to go to your country, I would most likely have to prepare cash over relying on card payment due to foreign /bank charges. Consider getting a travel debit card e.g. Revolut.

I would recommend buying a SIm from 7 eleven rather than the airport. The same Sim plan that my friend bought at $15 in 7/11 was $50 at Changi.
You can also buy the SG tourist pass plus card that allows for unlimited travel in MRT and Buses for 4 days.
Also hostels are very budget friendly. And are pretty vfm. Food is your real expense. And 7/11 is a lifesaver if you are on a budget in that aspect.

    Loved your video Satshya ❤
I'm adding a few tips which I've learnt over my frequent trips to SG.
    1. Eating in hawker centres/ food courts is cheaper than eating in restaurants. Food courts are EVERYWHERE. Almost every MRT station has a mall which will have a food court. Every residential areas has a hawker centre which sells local food at a relatively cheaper rate. Getting pure vegetarian food at hawker centres is difficult. But I have seen stalls selling dosa in a few hawker centres too
    2. Parks are free and beautiful. This is one thing that I absolutely adore about SG. Fort Canning, Labrador park, Singapore Botanic gardens are really beautiful.
    3. If you Google 'free things to do in SG' you will find certain events catered to the public. E.g. free music shows at Esplanade-Theatres by the bay.
    4. It's super hot in Singapore but indoor places are extremely cold. So I always carry a thin, light shirt to wear if I feel cold in public transport, malls, museums.
