Never having travelled outside of the US (yet) it is very interesting to see peoples views who are not from here. Things that are everyday normal to me & i would never think twice about can be very different or strange for someone else. I really hope to travel to other places and experience different cultures eventually. Great video, very informative showing your perspectives and experiences!
1. Homelessness is real because of the bills people have to pay; this is aside the present inflation condition. Some states have general home/facilities for the homeless but people don't want to stay in the facilities. Sadly, majority of the U.S residents are one paycheck away from being homeless. 2. With scam calls, I downloaded the true caller app, it helps identifying the caller so whenever it indicates sales as the caller I know it is scam. 3. Public display of Affection, no shame at all ooo- At first, I used to cringe but after living for 6years and counting here, I am no longer bothered/moved. 4. Education: You have to say something; if not you will not be graded for participation. Online classes use discussion board to interact with classmates.

The grading system!!! And the food! Also, I think the self service is really cool. I hesitated using it for a while and would always go to the cashier line until my friend showed me how easy it is.😅
My wife is Nigerian. Now I undersand the dog thing, because how the dogs are in Lagos, so now she wants one, but she's still asking for a guard dog, (oh boy)..lol.) She actually showed me how to use the cash app. The food? Jallofrice on the stove everyday with plantain to the side. Never ate plantain before, now it's an everyday thing. Lastly, i find it interesting how fireworks, free roaming deer, and inexpensive grapes fascinates her.
In the US we call sweet potatoes yams. Actual yams are usually labeled cassava/yucca or some places do call it yam. but they’re normally found at international stores.
Omg the yam debate! 😂 when i first met my husband he kept saying "you want yams?" Or "I got you fried yams" Whenever we went out to eat and i was like "sweet potatoes?! With my ___?...no thank you" 🤦🏾♀️ I'm still convinced it's in the potato family 😂🤷🏾♀️
True....lol You have to have a certain income and credit score to get approved for a mortgage for a home. You also can never entirely own a home in America even if you pay the total asked for on the house. You will continue to pay Land Tax and if you default on it they'll kick you out of your house. If you Google "Can you own land in America?", you'll find that the answer is "No". Versus other countries that allows you to own a home/land for 90 years or so and pass it down to whomever. Your land can be your land in some places. Not in the US. lol
You will still spend money but you can spend it from your credit or debit card or directly from your phone if you have Apple Pay or Google Pay if you don't want to use actual cash. America is still expensive though.... Especially in the bigger cities like NYC. I spend $1,000 USD a month on groceries.
Most people in America don’t use cash. We have debit card, cash app card, we can even purchase items at any store with our phone. Of course the bank and stores have ATM’s but most people don’t use cash and if they do they only take a small amount out

Hello Anjola, first let me give you a big hug🤗🤗 Next, I’d like to let you know that anyone at any stage of life can face peer pressure, so I’m not immune to it as well and can totally relate. Don’t give up your dreams for studying because of this, rather work on building yourself personally. Work on grounding yourself deeply in your values such that you’re not shaken When you move here, look out (and pray) for people with like minds and similar values around. Not everyone is partying away as you think, you just need to find and build your community
I’m thinking the dogs and cats thing is a transference of love issue. As in it is scary to extend love to another person because being rejected is as terrifying as betrayal to those trying to connect… Sort of a tribal thing, if u don’t belong u die thing🫵🏽🌹🫶🏽 Bless u on ur journey
