Hey guys so I completely agree with her stance on these shows and movies. I just want to explain for people (believer or non believer) who may not understand why as people of faith we struggle over secular media. There is a spirit behind everything, its either good or bad. It comes across holier than thou, but these things are what the enemy uses to gain a foothold and keep you in bondage. He will use anything he can because he hates you so much. Alot of people are being used knowingly or unknowing by the devil to further his agenda. This stuff will affect your spirit so sometimes we have cut things off and honestly it can be hard and painful but God is so much better than the crap, the filthy rags the world has to offer.
Edit: also just want to add, Holy Spirit is living inside you if you've invited Him. By watching inappropriate things you are making Him watch those things as well and it grieves Him. This is why you may feel dirty or spiritually dead after watching these things. Light cannot fellowship with darkness.
Literally couldn't say it better myself!!!! :)
@@NastasiaGrace Can you make this a series? Also are you making a list of movies and tv shows you recommend?
Also Soul Surfer is one recommend if you haven’t seen it! It’s one of my favorites of all time!
@Kierrah Bryant Amen and Amen🙏🏾 God bless you😊

Amen sister!
Since becoming a Christian there are so many movies and shows that I regret watching
I mean, you weren't christian back then, and as the bible say you are a new creature and all of those things have already been forgiven, is okey that now you are aware that it wasn't good, but you also shouldn't fall on the trap of condenation for things you did before being born again

You should do a “artists/music I won’t listen to or regret listening to”

I said it in your last video and I'm going to say it again: WE NEED MORE CHRISTIANS DOING THIS! Instead of just absorbing the media given to us as "entertainment", we need to just say no because we know that there is a message behind these movies and shows.
Totally agree!
we need more christians who accept other christians opinions and decisions that you disagree with. we shouldn’t make other christians feel like less of christians for having premarital sex or watching a tv show
@@oliviagrace5927 Your comment doesn't make any sense so it's hard to respond to. Acceptance of things that tap into the dark part of human nature, grieve the Holy Spirit and sin is not Christianity. It's not even close. Feel free to try the comment again but this time try to be more clear since it seems like your saying 3 different things that are unconnected. Also include where in the bible you read where fornication is ok in God's design. That would be helpful.

When we say “regret” of watching, the lesson is to also “repent” of watching.
Correct!
Many won't. They are just LOVING TV esp. all these things.
At this point, I’m actually watching Veggie Tales 😂 it’s kinda entertaining and it’s teaching me scripture. It’s filled with Godly life lessons and stuff. Even though it’s a kid show, it’s hard for me to find appropriate shows that glorify God and don’t make me fall into temptation. I’m pretty mature for my age, but I’m just sick, tired, and disgusted of all of the sex, money, drugs, and witchcraft.
Bibleman is pretty good too 😃😅
@@kathang8593 Thanks form the recommendation!😉
I recommend Adventures in Odyssey Episodes too! It’s an entertaining radio show and there’s always a Bible verse at the end that the main plot is based on. The show is actually funny too I’m getting back into it after I have canceled all secular media
@@the1stbrisme Thank you 😁
What's wrong with witchcraft in fiction?
I’m at the point where I look up the parents guide on IMDB before starting to watch a show. Every single time.
I have to do this too! I think it was when multiple streaming services became more popular that I started being totally caught off guard by weird stuff that would just pop up. I realized oh yeah, this isn’t edited for tv and this streaming service can put whatever amount of sex and gore they want to in the shows they create.
@@TRKJSR me, too! It’s shocking when you start watching a show because you hear that it’s really good and all of a sudden there’s a ton of nudity or torture out of nowhere.
i'm going to start doing this too!
Riley Bess Haha yep! You think oh I’ll just watch this historical drama or this innocuous quirky comedy, surely it’ll be fine. Next thing you know everyone’s stabbing each other while naked for some reason!?
@@TRKJSR SO ACCURATE 😂
I have a strong conviction not to watch any movies or shows with nudity. I'll check the Parents Guide on everything I watch beforehand and if it shows nudity is in the film I move on and watch something else.

@@caliden3785 amennn!!
Do you ever get tempted to watch some shows with nudity? I'm asking because I get tempted after saying I won't watch a specific movie/show...and if you do, how do you deal with this?
@@kikit-o8133 you need to turn if off and pray...so many good things to watch without nudity in it.
I have become so much more sensitive this year about TV and movies- I was really struggling with fear (as someone who is by themselves a lot with a very active imagination) I was feeling convicted about being more careful what I let into my mind. I’m so glad I’m more sensitive now and not desensitized to things I don’t need to be watching!
I am struggling with fear too and it got so bad I couldn’t even sleep with lights on! I’m a vivid dreamer so I was terrified of having nightmares or attacks in my dreams. As someone who uses to indulge in horror themes I had to cut it out entirely and tbh Idek why I put myself through that 😩
Yes! I’m so glad there’s finally someone who i can relate to. I used to struggle with this a lot, and cry real tears in fear. God gave me 2 Corinthians 10:5 and 2 Timothy 1:7 to mediate on and repeat. Whenever it gets unbearably bad, I literally repeat these verses over and over again and eventually I feel better.
Remember to read the Psalms and Proverbs. Read at least one a day and it will really help your walk with the Lord.
Are we the same person 😂😂😂 I dream off a lot , so like for now a lot of shoes even clean ones just make me dream , so for a while I just might not watch anything 🤷🏽♀️
My husband is always gone for a large chunk of the year for his job. Not entertaining anything that will mess with my imagination or fear has been essential to being able to sleep at night. Prayer and reading the Bible at night had helped so much as wel .
During a Bible Study lesson, I was convicted by a passage and decided to stop watching ghost story/real ghost shows on TV and RUclips. I had greatly enjoyed them, and so it was a struggle at first, but I am so glad I decided to listen to the Holy Spirit!! You never really know how something is negatively affecting you until you let it go. God is looking out for you: make sure you are listening for His direction. ♥️
Yeah! Is it one of the scriptures about let the dead bury the dead and not to go to mediums?
Yep. Its just nothing but familiar spirits

I completely gave up mainstream shows and switched over to K-Dramas (korean dramas). 90% of them are really pure and the most you‘re gonna see is a kiss. No s*x scenes or anything.
If you have Netflix I can recommend the following kdramas:
- Kkondae Intern (i laughed so much / slight romance but it’s not part of the plot)
- Vagabond (Action Drama / some romance but no s*x scenes)
- My Secret, Terrius (action/family drama, funny, chemistry but no actual romance)
- Oh My Venus (funny rom-com about a girl losing weight with the help of a coach, does have romance but again nothing explicit)
Seriously kdrama normalized forced sex, abuse just because the boy is handsome and some scenes are awkward
Yessssss I saw this somewhere and now I want to start watching them instead of animes because a lot of animes are bad
@@marjorie5677 it depends on what kdrama genre you are watching :D I would skip the whole early 2000s era because back then this was the trend..

This is literally why I watch cartoons all the time. My 13 year old brother thinks I'm weird because of it, but idc. Netflix shows now a days really pull you in easily on demonic and horrible morals. With the world we live in today, its already hard for me to keep my mind in positive places. I pray, and God gives me peace of mind. Cartoons and "safe/researched" shows and movies are the way to go for me😄☺
The same thing!! But do you know this show on Netflix "Anne with an the "E"? I think this is the best show there, but the ending is disgusting and the plot is not fully revealed😩 But Riverdale has 178292 seasons
Cartoons are the WORST. All that subliminal stuff is insane.
can you do an opposite version of things that you feel good watching and don-t regret
Thank you for telling us what we should hear, not what we want. It’s really helpful.
As a kid, I used to love this Nickelodeon show called Every Witch Way. It was about a girl who at first doesn’t know she’s a witch but then figured it out and gets helps from her guardian while also fighting off bad witches. And at one point I wanted to be like that girl since she was a good witch. But I now realize what I thought was wrong.

I had to stop watching Twilight the movie because I was really wanting to be apart of that world...it was weird....its to the point where I don't watch television at all...even commercials have gotten out of hand...Lord help us ALL...KEEP doing these types of videos.... I enjoy them...I'm just hoping you don't open my eyes to one of the last shows I do watch....LOL😬
Thee are those who don't want to accept the truth but if it's toxic, perverted, violent, evil, etc all to describe it then of course people should choose to stay away from those shows/ movies especially knowing it affects people like if watching such a dark show/ movie causes nightmares...
Amein
I haven't heard of most of the shows you mentioned. Unfortunately, I did see magic mike....not the second one though. Scary and paranormal movies didn't used to bother me as a young teenager (jr high), but after I became a true Christian in high school it really did. I felt like I was allowing evil in my life and I knew I didn't want that. My sister never let's me forget how I "made" her watch scary movies with me.(Poltergeist and the Freddy movies) I do regret it now. For people who don't think these types of movies affect you...just research what's happened to the actors in some of these movies. In Poltergeist, many of the young actors died in freak accidents, with diseases or suicide. In the movie The Crow, the main actor died in a freak accident while making the movie. Other actors have committed suicide while working on these types of scary movies. Evil and spiritual warfare is real. I can only imagine the war between angels and demons we can't see.
Scary and sad :(
I’m in agreement with you in these videos girl. You lay it out very nicely and you’re so right! The enemy is not hiding anymore, the shows and movies you describe are prime examples and if we are not bothered by that mess, we are desensitized, and that’s spiritually a dangerous place to be! So thank you for putting it out there in the most loving, and concerning way! Keep on being obedient to the Lord girl! ❤️❤️❤️
I love that you said both sides of the news are biased because I agree. I've seen a lot of Christians saying only the far left side is biased and I do not agree. I had to do research on the least biased news source and I found that AP News and The Christian Science Monitor are among the least biased, so I just follow them on social media.
I’m shocked that the first thing you mentioned was the news.
But you have point: the news media usually has an agenda and by extension, they have their own bias.
I can also add at times that watching news and seeing all the bad that’s happening can be depressing.
Btw, I would love a part 3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and 10.
Also, I would love more videos centered around the new age movement.
Yeah we need up to part 100 as well xD
Part 3, 4, 5, and 6 would be awesome! Do more, it's so refreshing to have someone with my convictions!
I'd been having a struggle this week with what I should be wary of and what was okay. I grew up an avid reader and most of the books I liked featured gods and goddesses and magic powers and vampires and Nephilim (looking at you The Mortal Instruments) and stuff like that. I've since then given my life to Christ and I don't read those things anymore. I'm very, very, VERY picky with what I put into my spirit, but I do love reading. And I do (or did, I don't even know anymore) love fantasy. So it's very hard for me with books. But your videos help me so much! You're one of the people who encouraged me to follow Christ more with your videos! Thank you so much for posting and sharing these things 🥰🥰

You should do a video on “secular/adult” movies or tv show you do watch and why.
This video was very insightful, it matters what we watch! I also think it matters what we read too! I remember in high school I picked up this book from the library that didn't really had a synopsis, but the cover seemed cool... but I wasn't even 17 pages in when I realized the book was about a girl who was the half daughter of the Devil and was summoned to do works for him and it messed with my head and even gave me a nightmare, I returned it the very next day😭

This really makes me question my love for Steven Universe. I have so many feelings attached to that show. I can say that when I started watching that show, I was just beginning my Christian walk. I can say that I brought that show up in therapy so many times. Steven Universe does some amazing things for mental health! I think God was speaking to me through that show in fact at the level I was at in relationship with him at the time. But I feel like God is bringing to light that the LGBT themes in that show is something I need to distance myself from. I used to be actively lesbian, but the past few months, God has been convicting me and I am ready to finally walk away from the LGBT lifestyle. I remember thinking that Steven Universe was there for me when it seemed like nobody else was, but that’s not true. God was ALWAYS there for me! It’s still hard to let Steven Universe go but I need to let go of my past and hold onto God tighter then I have ever held him before! He will help me to continue on this christian walk.
Same! Trying to finally let go of this show once and for all.
Lol I used to be OBSESSED with that show.😂 It's pretty good show it's not that bad, but the LGBT stuff, not really when Im trying to be close to God.

I am new to God and finding my way to him even tho its a struggle but pray that I can say one day I'm a Christian and follow God and Jesus just need to be patient and I will get there. Your videos really caught my eye and made me think twice about what I was watching so I stopped for sometime with all the bad shows and was researching everything before I watched it and I felt way better that all the bad was out of my life but then I was influenced again with the bad shows and started up. It took me back to feeling horrible that I was watching them but now I have fully cut the bad out and am bringing only the good and its made me realize I feel way better about myself watching the good only and makes me better and so much more, so I'm sticking to it, Thanks to you this is a good thing. PS: A show that I couldn't finish is The Boys, the show is very well produced and the cinematography is brilliant but content-wise, very disturbing and they even mock the christian faith at a certain point, my spirit felt uneasy and I felt like I was making the Holy Spirit sad by watching it

If you don't mind subtitles I really recommend kdramas (Korean Dramas)! Most Kdramas are PG and don't even have kissing scenes that last longer than 15 seconds, some shows blur out knives even, and overall there's minimal violence/cursing if you watch the romance ones. There are some Kdramas that I don't recommend and they're usually crime/police ones but overall most kdramas are very wholesome and they only have one season so it doesn't drag things out.
I agree. There’s this Kdrama on Netflix called love Alarm that I enjoy. No sex, no witch craft, there’s a bit of violence but it’s not heavy nor is it overbearing.
Same with Chinese and Turkish dramas!
Do you have an opinion on how Disney movies always include magic and witches in both a good light and a bad light, even though there is no such thing as good magic?
Good point
good question! this is a tricky topic for me because i definitely think there's a grey area sometimes. i love the Narnia books/movies and C.S. Lewis wrote them to point people TO the gospel of Jesus. But there are other books/movies that are intended for the exact opposite. i think that's where a little research and prayer comes in sometimes. as for me personally, i won't let my future kids watch MOST of the modern disney movies. I just feel like they push a lot of concepts that i don't personally agree with. but some of the older ones (Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, etc) I don't have a problem with.... yet at least lol.
So, I appreciate these videos & this response a lot, & I would love to hear other Christians’ opinions on Disney movies. For Lent this upcoming year, I want to give up movies/tv shows that include the supernatural &/or what I think God would not be pleased with me watching. I grew up with Disney, & I know there are some movies that would be harder to give up than others.

@@NastasiaGrace @Nastasia Grace if you restrict your kids way to much they will revel, it's great to create a good loving christian home, but you have to remember that noone forvid you to watch those things and still you turned out good, there always have to be a balance and overall, they should have the right to choose what to see and even more if it's Disney movies, i can tell you from personal experience that growing up in a christian bubble isn't healthy and God did not intend for it, it really afects your interactions with others as you grow up, it's easy as a parent to say "oh they won't watch this!" but your kids will have to grow uo being the only ones feeling left out, and even if you homeschool them, what will you tell them when they grow up and all their friends are shooked cause they are the only 20's years old that haven't seen those movies or shows? , instead of choosing what you think will be God aproved from your point of view, is way better for them to have freedom, what will help them love God is not what you don't allow them to do, but it's actually calling them to read the bible as a family, from experience I can tell that my parents playing christian music trought the day, paid off better than any restriction, i'll say it again, the more you do and the more you share the world of God with them in a loving and warm way, will work way better than what they don't do, is not about what they don't have in their hearts, is what is planted on their hearts what will give fruits in their life! Im trying not to come of as rude but be direct and sharing this from someone who has seen those things, God bless you!

I’m a Christian myself… Question, when you did have Netflix what would you watch? I mean there has to be a reason for you having a streaming service to begin with. I watched a lot of cartoons that I grew up on that were available through that. I’m just curious what did you watch on there that you thought was OK?
Most of these shows you mentioned (and even in the previous video) I'd never even heard of. My parents raised me watching the old TV shows like "I Love Lucy" and "The Andy Griffith Show" so I've never been into anything modern concerning television. Like the most "modern" TV show I watch would be something on the old Disney channel! Haha Now, hearing about these shows from you, I'm SOOO glad I never got into the habit of watching this stuff. The stuff I used to put in my brain (that was on a pretty chill level compared to what you mentioned) was bad enough!
Same here - Andy was the best TV dad ever! (I actually live not far from his hometown.)

I watched Stranger Things last year and even got a shirt and funko pop for it, but I stopped watching that show because it's VERY violent, dark, and supernatural and has sexual things in it, to the point a mom literally takes her wedding ring off when she goes to meet someone, but I don't think they show anything about that. I am also considering not watching This Is Us anymore because of certain things they say, even though the majority of it is good.
I struggled with trying to stop watching Stranger Things because of all the blasphemy and This Is Us because of all the political correctness and what not. Unfortunately I never stopped watching This Is Us, and will probably watch the series finale 😩 but hopefully I’ll just say whatever to the new season of Stranger Things 🙏
But the mum who took her ring off changed her mind when she saw her husbands sleeping on the couch, she changed her mind.
the news be like: "yes, the entire point of our existence is to report truth, but... you can't handle the truth!"
It's sad how true that is. The Bible states that people will be offended, but honestly, Jesus was the Rock of Offense, and since He is Truth, people are often offended by the Truth.
Fully agree to all those shows, with Hemlock I watched the first 10 minutes and was like nope not for me. Most shows are so dark and disturbing that they aren't enjoyable anymore.
Hi Nastasia. Thank you for mentioning the penny dreadful tv series. As i stated i have only seen the trailer and it is a no-go for me.
it's a no for me dawg haha! thank you!
Yes i would like to see more of this kind of cotent.
sweet thank you!!
@@NastasiaGrace can u do some about music?
I second most of this list. As far as secular stuff I watch a good rule of thumb for me is anything Tina Fey does. Her stuff does have elements of secular stuff, but she’s a very religious and devout Greek Orthodox Christian so at bar minimum her stuff will be at least respectful. Also I don’t know if this is on my end or yours but one of your ads during your video was for a show about witchcraft and vampires....I don’t know if you control your ads, but I figured you might want to know. Great video!!!
I regret watching Once Upon A Time and Walking Dead.
Please keep this up!
Your videos are always amazing, Hope you have a great day!
thank you!! you too!!
😆 In the beginning I seriously thought that you were holding a box of pads!!
Thank you for sharing I have since made my lists
Thanks for the video Natasia
God bless you
I really love ur vids so far (I only started watching them :)
Thank u for saying the truth about these movies and shows and why we shouldn't watch them...
I wouldn't recommend After or After we collided either
It's too sexual and honestly the morals are HORRIBLe
I'm thankful God has showed me the sinful nature of this movie and I repented and won't watch the coming ones again
Staysafe💛
I think as Christian’s we can watch anything we feel comfortable with as long as we are strong against the forces. That’s how I feel strongly. I love horror and when I became Christian videos like this made me feel like I shouldn’t anymore, but it’s just what I like. I avoid sexual things though..
Since sort of re-finding my faith, I’ve realized that most of the mainstream Hollywood movies that have religious people (specifically Christians), they are depicted as terrible, awful people. If I see that in a show or movie now, I turn it off.
Or end up turning from God

Never heard of most of these,
Thank God !
I wholeheartedly agree with your list! I never want to watch cuties. I could never watch the news because it was so depressing more depressing honestly then Lemony Snicket’s a series of unfortunate events and that’s saying something. I never want to watch vampire diaries or any of the sequel series I didn’t even know there were so many until you mentioned on this video. I try to keep my mind clean with everything I watch and read. So I appreciate you posting this my dear sister in the Lord Jesus Christ! You always make such great videos so I always appreciate it. Keep up the good work.
U go girl! Honour God in all we do!
thank you!!!
Glad you're one of the few Christians actually aware of Cuties and not supporting Netflix because of it. Props! 🙂💯
Yes please carry on with this series
I am thankful that you also have the same idea about this as I do. I felt so alone often because I'd not watch things with people, and be shamed because of it. Maybe you can make a video of things to do instead of watching these shows.
tv shows affect me more than I thought... I watched riverdale and became obsessed and it was not a good obsession to have, it distracted from God
I’m a big Riverdale fan, it got very weird at some parts that I started to feel very uncomfortable. But I still watch it 😩
@@jumokeonifade85 thats what happend to me. it got really uncomfortable so I stopped
@@missblissplays6990 at this point I might have to throw the whole Netflix away, it’s such a distraction and it’s becoming less edifying. You know any clean shows?
@@jumokeonifade85 honestly the only clean shows i watch are disney shows
@@missblissplays6990 Disney is the worse, so much pagan routes
Most of these -from both videos- I have never heard of or never wanted to watch, so I'm glad to know of shows/movies to keep avoiding and never watch!
My problem is, when I'm watching something and then -bam- a bad scene comes on, I close my eyes, and listen for it to be over, but then later on I forget to avoid it because I didn't actually see anything.
That happened with The Perks of Being a Walflower. I watched it, decided I never would again, and then two years later I forgot about it, and agreed to watch it with a friend. I very quickly regretted it. Unfortunately I felt embarrassed to tell my friend this, because she wasn't bothered at all, so although I looked away a lot, I still wish I had never seen it in the first place.
Hey I got that sippy sip of your tea reference from graveyardgirl though 😂😂
The movies Hereditary & Midsommar are both that I definitely regret watching. They’re both very centered on occultism & demonic possession, which I was entirely unaware of before watching unfortunately. I will say though that the cinematography was beautiful, but I just wish movie producers/directors would focus their skills on a more meaningful subject rather than witchcraft.
I completely agree.
God has been talking to me on this, today I got some things directly from His Word. Looking back on the things I'm compromising, one of them being Netflix shows/movies, I couldn't agree more with you. I have no idea why I carried on watching Bridgeton even though I knew it was wrong to, please stop and pray when that happens because it does happen ( your flesh and spirit will feel like they are in war.) I can't begin to mention songs, you might catch yourself singing a song you used to listen to during your childhood that still stuck with you. SAME AS WHAT YOU WATCH!
Thank you for this video!
Galatians 5:25 🍃
Genesis 19 also has a powerful message about "compromising" and I believe on "obedience" as well.
😍I think a p3, 4,5 and 6 are required because there are just so many.
Please voice your opinion(in the next video) on Dynasty and Insatiable.
I've never seen them before but I'm curious to know your opinion. I love ur videos 😍🤪🖤!!
on it! thank you!
I was going to say Insatiable & also Santa Clarita Diet
My friend recommended the animated show “Midnight gospel” to me... once I started watching it, it didn’t feel right at all and I felt so uncomfortable with this show. Any thoughts?
Agree so much with the news! It was so frustrating to be on social media or turn on the TV because of all the misinformation and hatred going around 😥
On the topic of magic , what do you guys think of Narnia type things ??? Or Disney like frozen?
Thank you 💕
I don't watch anything with sorcery or magic in it- no Disney or Narnia. Just because something is cute or catchy doesn't make it right. In the book of acts, people burned their books about curious arts. Revelations condemns it also.
I don't recommend Disney... But the Chronicles of Narnia was written by CS Lewis, one of the most influential Christian apologist ever, many atheist converted to Christianity because of his work, and many apologist based their argument on his philosophy... And if you observed Narnia, it is a metaphorical depiction of Christ's atonement
But I'm only taking about Narnia in particular... And also... I've somewhere read that CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien (author of the Lord of The Rings and The Hobbit franchise) are good friends, and it was none other than Tolkien who converted Lewis to Christian from an atheist... However I cannot really fathom the philosophy behind Tolkien's work since I haven't really done any research on it but it is also said to be a metaphorical depiction of the battle between good and evil
Thanks so much for making these videos! Very insightful and a great reminder for us believers :) I don't know if this is just me, but I also can't listen to true crime podcasts/videos because they almost seem to benefit off of/sensationalize tragedy and evil that happens in the world.. I just had to turn one off yesterday because it left me feeling so icky halfway through
@Nurse A right? So important to pay attention to what we are letting into our hearts and minds!
