I just love how all 3 episodes so far have completely crushed all the 'emo' stereotypes people had of noctis. He is so much more likable then any of us realised :)
I am really loving Noctis's character. He is caring, stubborn, emotional, and strong. It gives in more depth within his character. He isn't a cut out cliche of a anime/Japanese video game character (Sasuke, Ichigo) he actually have feelings and offers a lot of emotion throughout the show. He can be spoil due to the fact this guy is infamous throughout the land and lives in royalty, but he doesn't let that title defined him. His actions and care of others do. I am literally getting more and more excited for the story of this game from each episode of brotherhood. Now I am really hyped for Kingsglaive
I completely agree. From the moment I heard about this game (about 2 years ago) to now I've gone from hating Noctis and the game to being totally excited and counting down the days until its release.
man these episodes are like the broest of bro things. This should just be called Final Bro Fantasy Bro 15 a tale of an epic journey where 4 bro's go on the bro'est journey to fight for the ultimate bro'ness crown against the haters that are determined to break up their bro'ness to help one bro get married/laid.
That's half the theme of the game considering it starts out as a road trip between Noctus and his friends as a kind of half important mission , half extended Batchelor party for Noctus before he marries Luna. Granted from the trailers this is implied to be a cover cooked up by Ignis to hid the truth that they're running away from the capital to keep him safe from what is going to be a very obvious cue by the Neblehime Empire instead of a peace treaty with his kingdom. FF15 is a story of close friends, and that of a Father and Son as well along with the car that connects the 2. This is definitely a bro movie but an emotional bro movie why do you think they have a cover of Stand by Me for this game!?!
Agreed. A-1 Pictures has done a competent job, but this does not represent them in their best form. For examples of their best animated works, see Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash and Your Lie in April. Brotherhood Final Fantasy 15 is at the same tier as the GATE, and the overall quality is better than The Asterisk War and Sword Art Online. However, sometimes the quality drops. I can say the action sequences, while good, are not as crisp as The Asterisk War's or GATE's. But thankfully, Brotherhood is far better than A-1's anime adaption of the other Square Enix game: Gunslinger Stratos. If only that looked as good as The Asterisk War. If Square Enix wanted an anime that did justice to Final Fantasy 15, capturing their brilliant CGI and graphics for their game and KIngsglaive movie in an equivalent, animated format, they should have given A-1 a bigger budget or contracted ufotable, instead. Ufotable has experience in game adaptions and consistently delivers high-quality animation. They are currently working on Tales of Zesteria the X , also an jrpg. God Eater has some passing resemblance to Final Fantasy 7 , namely the Buster Sword-like weapons, and the Fate series features characters with powers just like Noctis. If any studio was more qualified to make a Final Fantasy anime, it would be ufotable.
I love how they are expanding the universe before the game even comes out. By the time the game launches, we'll have alot of context about the characters and what their about. Wish they had done this to previous FF games. I would've loved a XIII anime to have expanded the amazing world.
a movie, or OVA's explaining the danm context of cocoon and the danm lore would have helped out a LOT, and cut some of the heavy reading you have to do to understand stuff in XIII. Same with XII, but at least i gave a fuck about Ivalice XD
This makes me cry. (Disclaimer: This is like the tenth or so time I've watched the entire Brotherhood Series. After watching this episode another time, I just thought I'd share some of my thoughts. Because a lot of people seem to hate Gladio. I will say he can be hard on Noct, and sometimes, he can be very dismissive, but after watching this episode, you can say he has made a lot of progress since they first met.) Gladio was hard on Noct in the beginning--thought he was a spoiled, stubborn, prince with no depth, and a disregard for the rules. When Noct saves Iris at the price of being grounded by Regis, he took a bullet for Gladio's sister, and thought nothing of it. You can see it when Gladio tells him that he knows the real story, and instead of acting like he doesn't know, or denying what he did so that Iris wouldn't get a grand telling-off, Noct's blank look is because he really didn't put so much thought into it (or so it seems); to him it wasn't a big deal. It was sort of second nature of him to respond like that. Which kind of justifies something that people don't readily entertain when they see the prince: Noct is kind. Kind and just, well, a good person. He doesn't think of himself as above anybody, and he doesn't treat people differently from how he would respond to his own father. He knows he is a prince, but he is not bound by the stereotype of the pompous, self-absorbed prince. As a matter of fact, he just thinks of it as having a different lot in life. Period. The only problem is he gets misunderstood for being so quiet, closed off, seemingly aloof, and adamant about a lot of things. The penultimate case of still waters run deep. Being the protected at all times, Noct wanted to do the protecting--he wanted to make sure that someone close to someone in his immediate circle wouldn't end up in harm's way. Towards the end of this episode, Gladio slowly began to understand that there was a lot more to Noct, that he could, in fact, be very selfless (who likes being told off by a disappointed dad?). For a child, Noct was very perceptive. He knew what was going to happen if he didn't paint things a particular way. You learn to watch yourself and what you say when you're always surrounded by other people. It also supports the notion that Noct is more intuitive than people give him credit for. Interestingly enough, Noct never rubbed either in people's faces. Regis as a king and father, and the rest of his retinue, they were all a very grounding, humbling force in his life from the time he was born, and it shows. I love that Gladio was sensible and levelheaded enough to see through his initial irritation and vexation because a.) it's hard to think otherwise when you believe you already have the measure of a person; b.) he has to realize that what he sees of Noct (even when being with him on an almost daily basis) is not all that Noct is; c.) Noct did what he did so that Gladio wouldn't berate Iris, and d.) if Noct is brave enough to lie to the kind and his father, then he must truly care about Iris, which Gladio, if he purports to be decent, cannot be blind to. I love how this became the start of their friendship: Gladio recognized what Noct did and that fostered in him a sense of respect for his ward. Gladio realized he was in the wrong, he was able to see through the haze of his own bias, and Noct was only more than willing to take the chance Gladio was offering him. That fist bump is such a symbol of their relationship all on its own: between two people who promise to never back down from the other. They are both teaching each other to be better people.
They do one episode every major gaming event I think. There weren't any important ones between Uncovered and E3. If I had to guess the next two episodes will be around Gamescom in August and Tokyo Game Show in September.
And this is why I love Noctis: He's actually very selfless and will take responsibility when it counts the most, even if he really shouldn't have to. He is quite observant and attuned to those around him even when they think he's blowing it all off. He can stand up for himself without looking like he's doing so out of desperation or pure frustration. He'll take the heat to spare someone else the pain. I love him. And I would want friends like him and his bros.
"Should we run?" "And leave the meat?" I find that really funny for some reason. Also this episode, just like Prompto's, was seriously beautiful. The way they grow as people thanks to Noctis, and also showing his good heart and the amazing person that he is (Showing that he would've been Prompto's friend even if he was all chubby, and his selflessness by taking the blame, which is really strange for a kid his age). Noctis has always been my favorite character, Prompto was always my second favorite, last episode made him share the first spot with Noct, and once again this episode made Gladio (which was my third favorite) rank up to the first spot alongside the other two. Gladio is such a human down-to-earth character, he's very responsible and deeply loves his sister (which I believe is the one girl he was referring to during the final companion mission in Episode Duscae), and he trusts and fights for Noct like his actual brother (which, I mean, that's the name of the show). Now I'm even more excited for Episode 4, Ignis is serious, and as Akio Ofuji mentioned, he's such a dependable person and the one you trust the most, so I'm happily looking forward for Ignis's focus next month. He's my fourth favorite character (It's not that I dislike him, it's just that I liked the others more) but now that the others share the first spot, I'm sure that Ignis will sit by their side as well, and this will be the first time in ANY game that every single character in the party will be my favorite. (Yes, not just Final Fantasy) Everyone have a great day!
It is funny how at first glance, People relate to noctis as a "Sasuke" like characters. But this shows otherwise Like the way he speak about the food (Meat) >_
man, watching these brotherhood episodes and the Kingsglaive movie after playing the game just makes it so much more painful knowing how the game ends and what happened through out the game too. It's all just making me tear up all over again T^T oh and sorry if what I say spoils anything for you though I am not sure how it could.
This is going to be amazing to start playing the game already knowing the main characters backstories. To a degree, I already feel connected to them and I'm curious how their stories will unfold. Creating this short anime series was a brilliant idea.
It certainly helps with identifying which characters are which, and it really shows that they're very proud and very confident that their product will be ground breaking. Why would they otherwise spend over a decade on a game and even make a short anime about it?
are you serious? the animation, the line work for the characters themselves is god awful especially when they show the characters from far away the background artwork of scenery, the decor yes i agree with you on that is top notice at least
lmao well at least you realize this unlike other fanboys fair enough lol this backstory of noctis and gladio's friendship i liked but prompto's was done poorly imo, i mean losing weight okay sure but....all to wait like what 3-4 years to talk to someone banking you'll be in the same high school as them too, come on now lol
+Mr. Pieced with all the games that came out this year. Only Uncharted, Doom, overwatch and DS3 are even worth mentioning... So at the very least this game is already top 5 game of the year contender..
stalkermuch Not really,Even if you limit the category to AAA games it doesn't gurantee top 5.We've only passed the halfway point of the year and as we all know most of the games are released in Q3 or Q4.There are still plenty of games to come like Mankind Divided. But FFXV still has a great chance to be one of the best games this year because of the effort put into it alone(So much stuff) and the anticipation of ten years. If we're talking about jRPGs I'd say XV would win simply because it's on home consoles.Otherwise Trails of Cold Steel 2 would've been a strong contender along with SMT:IVA. Sadly,Persona 5 comes next year in Q1 so we won't see a tough competition between the two games.
I've never played a final fantasy game for more than a few hours at most, but with this series and all of the build up for the release, XV may just be my first time owning one.
I think you definitely should. You don't need to play any of the previous final fantasy games. All their stories are unique and have no ties between them. This is the biggest final fantasy game in terms of hype and effort put into it.
Well, I gotta admit that when I first saw Noctis and how he was presented in the first few trailers for the game, I thought he was going to be another Anime cliche of the "too cool for school" trope and be an emotionless, generic "bad ass" like that of Cloud (I like him but still), and Sasuke from Naruto but I'm glad I was wrong. It's awesome learning more about him and he's proving to be a character worth caring about. Though I wish we could've learned more about Gladiolous life (he's my favorite) like is his parents still in the picture and so on. But another good video. :)
that's what i like about how they're doing final fantasy XV, they're giving us all these other forms of entertainment concerning the game, which adds upon the story. there's nothing better then character development , in my opinion in games and that's what they are giving us with botherhood and glaive. i been waiting years for this game, ever since it was XIII vs. so i'm excited to see what everything f.f.XV has to offer.
Cyborgamus Prime Yeah for sure. I especially liked Prompto's episode, I mean, I'm not overweight and never have been but it still felt relatable and I know it related to other people too and that's just awesome.
***** That's correct and seeing the back stories of these characters is a step in the right direction (though I wish we learned a little more about Gladiolus' home life).
Such an awesome episode! This whole FFXV Universe thing has just blown me away. Anyone can make an awesome game but I only Square Enix can create a universe, a feeling that stirs people's hearts and still lets you know that this is Final Fantasy by perfectly plucking those nostalgia heart strings. It's sometimes difficult to connect with characters in game and really understand who they are because you're controlling them in the end. But with the anime they're providing more depth that let's you connect with the characters even before the game is released. With the movie they're providing insight into the world that you're entering when you start up the game. I don't usually fanboy over anything too much but only Square Enix can make me feel so emotionally connected to a game that has taken 10 years to come to fruition and has sent me through several emotional rollercoasters in its anticipation. Keep up the awesome work Square, I'll be showing your games to my kids and telling them how these games shaped my childhood! (Writing this while I wait for FF Brave Exvius maintenance to finish)
Gladio is pretty awesome too. Thought the same thing about Prompto in ep 2. Also really love Noctis' character and personality. He's really showing he's not the stereotypical rich arrogant prince type. This anime has been really high quality and I'm honestly even more hyped now to get my hands on this game. My hopes are so high that my beloved Final Fantasy is not dead.
I'm really glad they are showing the backstory of them now like this instead of having flashbacks in the game. It also helps that these are actually pretty decent episodes too
I love how true the imperial army's timing is. You're fighting a rat on the street and then out of nowhere, the fucking army is looming above your heads... then your fighting them off and then a gigantoad comes out of nowhere with another crowd of the army following
HOW IS GLADIO 3 YEARS OLDER THAN HIM??IDK LOL hes so big when they were kids Anyway, such an adorable episode! I hope they tell us how he got his eye scar in the actual game!
I found it. It's at 1:27 in the Reclaim Your Throne trailer from a few months ago. You're right, the girl definitely looks alot like Iris, and she's sitting in the back seat between Noctis and Gladiolus, which would make sense for Iris, since she's Gladio's sister and likely Noctis' friend after he saved her in this episode.
Much respect to Noctis and Gladiolus. I'm actually jealous of the brotherhood they share. I'm glad this XV universe is exploring the brotherhood nature, it's not as common now an days and it's being executed refreshingly with FFXV.
Love theses shorts gets you in tuned with the characters. But I get feeling there is going be something very tragic that's going happen in the game. With them being so close to each other.
This was a very touching episode, im loving this compilation. And early impressions of Kingsglaive are praising it Gladio and Noctis Relationship is that much more amazing
Oh Boy, I'm already worried about Gladiolus. He seems like the type of character who acts as a shield everyone else can hide behind, but then has to die to create some drama and forcing the other characters to grow up. I hope I'm wrong. Currently my favourite character of the FFXV cast by far.
+Balthier TSK I would love that to be the case, the end could bring us back to that moody scene with Noct confronting soldiers all alone in the crown city, and when he defeats them all he sits on the thrown, alone, with a kingdom in ruins
Damn you want that Dark noctis ending lmfao I remember that trailer looked so sick I watched it over 100 times the music and animation looked so damn good. It would be nice to have alternate endings.
I am amazed at the detail in this game and the anime. The scenery, the food, the clothes, the vehicles, they all look amazing. The characters are quite detailed too. I am looking forward to Ignis's story.
+Dinozo2 I wouldn't say the main theme is the piece musical piece in a video game ever made...And the platinum demos combat only had the easiest combat mode which made it boring pretty fast. But yeah the full game will have more combat options.
It’s nice seeing everyone as their younger selves. Wasn’t expecting young Iris but it makes sense since this is Gladdy’s episode. I guess next ep is Iggy focused
I think the big difference with the writing in this show/game compared to other anime/video games is that these characters behave differently based on their personal/professional relationships to the person(s) they're talking to... you know, like humans. I think Sasuke (the popular Noctis comparison based entirely on looks, but whatever) is fine-ish, but he's the same brand of cold and disrespectful to every. single. person he meets. All these FFXV bros seem to be really well developed.
Noctis isn't like Sasuke at all, even in that respect. Sasuke is cold to people because he's a smug asshole that doesn't want to make connections and so far Noctis hasn't been a jerk for no reason, even if sometimes his behavior can be considered 'cold'. He's certainly not polite though. I wonder if that comes though in the pronouns/suffixes he uses in Japanese as well.
QuangTran27 Well generally I don't think what you've been through gives any sympathy for hurting others. Anyway, the village didn't fear Sasuke clan his experience. After the slaughter he never got slack for being a Uchiha, as per his brother's request. He was always praised for his lineage and was always a smug asshole about it, wanting revenge not for his family and presumably some friends being killed but to 'restore his clan'. He was cold to people specifically because he didn't want to make connections and when he did he treated those people worse than dirt to distance them and in the end only changes his mind, all of a sudden wanting to lead all the people, many of which innocents he wanted to kill after a talk with his dead bro.
Heather If the village didn't fear the Uchiha clan, why did the people in charge of the village place the clan into their own little community? Their own little corner of the village? The leader of the village wanted to almost separate themselves from the Uchiha but still kept them under close surveillance. That's the whole point of what Itachi was doing. And why do you think Sasuke turn out the way he is? Hm? It's not like he had any psychological help when he was younger. Not until he fought Itachi in which Itachi finally told Sasuke the truth. I watch Naruto for a long time so I've understand many of the character's state of mind. People should try being in his shoe for once instead of just blaming him for being an asshole. How psychologically damage you are at a young age will turn you into the person you are in the future. Done.
The cute one? His name is Abacus. He is the Supreme Hero of this game: He Who Is Always Righta. The lesson, in this episode, is that, sometimes, even when you take the wrong path and get lost - you may still find yourself on the Path of The Righta.
Grown up Iris looks so cool, if you guys haven't seen her, she was in a trailer, and in one of the older FFXV promo photos that show half of the character's faces. Really like how Gladiolus was Nocti's teacher, makes sense how he is the one who practices with you in Duscae demo.
She was sitting in the car with the top (dunno whats the english word for it is :p) getting pulled down - meaning shadows could`ve influenced it. The haircut fits too good to that woman in the trailer.
I can tell you as the oldest of the four brother: there is not a bond like Brotherhood! It is amazing. I wrestle and train in gym, second is an acrobat, third is a soccer player and the youngest is american football player.. (yeah.. and father is a bodybuilder) And the point is? I've waited the game freaking 10 years!! And now I'm happy to know it is about Brotherhood: one of the greatest of bonds. Does anyone agree? God bless ;)
Remember, this is royalty we're talking about. Henry II was 15 when he married Eleanor of Aquitaine... who was 28. When it comes to royal marriages, age gaps are not an issue.
I absolutely love how we get to see the world within the show and how its setup. with games nowadays moving towards multi media advertising such as shows, comics, book, etc. it allows the audience to focus more on the character development and the story with less questions of how the world works.
These are so great! With FF XV and all the various content preluding to it there is really a sense of history for everyone. The game starts and every character has had been living there respective lives up to that point and with these we can have a glimps into that and understand how their bonds were made.
In the game, Episode Gladiolus to be specific, Prompto makes a comment of the 2 new scars Gladio gets, saying "well it goes well with the one you got when you saved Noct from that bully!" Which means Gladio might've gotten the first scar on his face around the time Noct was probably in highschool, or a bit beyond that.
The combat was was really interesting how you could change weapons for different abilities and the chain attacks were pretty fun! There is also a parry mechanic to make things more interesting, the demos combat system isn't the final version and it has a lot of improvements to be made but as a base demo it was fun!
Omg I'm starting to feel so much for the characters, these episodes create way more depth in the characters and in the bonds of friendship they share. I can't wait to receive my PS4 and begin this adventure!!!
This anime is brilliant. The game isn't even out yet and I understand the dynamic of the characters relationships to noct. I already feel more emotionally invested in the cast than i have any FF in years! Sept 30th is so far yet so close! I CAN'T FUCKING WAIT FOR THIS GAME!!!!
I wonder if Iris will be in the game. Bet therell be a side quest where she gets lost chasing something. lol I wonder how she will look all grown up! XD
Aww Noctis took the blame. That's so noble of him. No wonder the first time I met iris in the game, I was surprised at how close she acted around Noctis. Now I understand why. Gladio is my bro. I really love how he protects and trains Noctis in the game. There's so much respect and deep bond between the two.
You know what I love about Noctis? On the surface, he has the attitude of Squall... He doesn't care, he's just doing his own thing and moving along. But deep down, he's a good guy. He cares about protecting others, the well-being of others. He just doesn't want it to necessarily show.
Her hair isn't pitch black liks Noctis, in fact it looks slightly more brown than Gladiolus', so it could very well be her. And she's mainly looking in Gladiolus' direction, so it seems the two of them have some kind of bond.
Her hair could be brown in the car, too. If you look at it, you'll notice that her hair is covered in the shadows made by the car's top as it's being put down. If you look at Gladio's hair, you'll notice that it's much darker in the shade of the car's top and then shows the brown once the top is down.
He was just really tall for being like 14 or 15 years old. I seen people who at those ages who look older than they are. Remember gladio is three years older than noct.
All of these episodes give me goose pimples and make me tear up a little. I'm fully invested in these characters already. I can't FREAKEN wait to play this game!
It's great to get such an in depth feel for the characters before the game is even out. By the time we start playing we will already be emotionally invested in their struggle
+venrosonitas hmmmm... we all need to know him first right before making that decision... at first my least likeable is gladio but now... cute sister and such... I don't know... :D
The music towards the end really pulls the episode to a close. Looking forward to the next two, the three we've seen so far have been absolutely beautiful. Expecting the same heartwarming feel for Ignis incoming. :'D
I didn't pay much heed to this Brotherhood series for quite some time but I made it a goal to try to watch them recently...and not disappointed the least bit. It shows a completely new perspective of character development just by memories of the characters on a road trip. This short series is definitely an amazing precursor to the game which makes it all the more attractive.
I just love how all 3 episodes so far have completely crushed all the 'emo' stereotypes people had of noctis. He is so much more likable then any of us realised :)
But yet, people will still judge and call them an emo Japanese boy band
from the start i didnt belive he was emo just a jerky, grumpy, funny dude, so far it is xD
+Kotori-nyan probably it's the hair and the color that kinda show that stereotype
Its judging a book by its cover. Like I hate that if you have tattoos people immediately relate you with drug addicts and low lifes.
People just being people I'm afraid ...
"You haven't eaten your carrots" OR ANY OF HIS OTHER FOOD GIVE HIM A MINUTE
LOL!!
The Future King must eat with haste xD
king regis savage of the year
lmfao
Ikr! Chill the fuck out! This isent exactly a eating competition...right?
Pets are causing so much trouble in this universe
Watch as that cat turns out to be the real villain in FFXV
Plot twist: FFXV final boss is a cat.
Ignis probably has a pet rock that Noctis saved once.
+Mattman XD
+Junambo QCG cait sith lol
The whole bros on road trip style plot works SO FUCKING WELL.
IKR!
So many fan-fics and fan service can be had!
casey childs so true, ha ha
Not a single pair of boobies yet.
QuangTran27 and I'm loving it!
What you described is basically how Squall was. Many people hate Squall, which is fine, but I think he was a great protagonist.
+Naomi RoPi That's it, I'm subbing to you. You're everywhere xD
+Matthew J. Boone ironically enough, Squall is my favorite final fantasy character
Ichigo is so much more than people actually think. But you're right.Noctis is Great!
I completely agree. From the moment I heard about this game (about 2 years ago) to now I've gone from hating Noctis and the game to being totally excited and counting down the days until its release.
man these episodes are like the broest of bro things.

lmao. i hope it still sell well if thats the name
If so, i'll love the game even more
That`s why its called Brotherhood :p
That's half the theme of the game considering it starts out as a road trip between Noctus and his friends as a kind of half important mission , half extended Batchelor party for Noctus before he marries Luna. FF15 is a story of close friends, and that of a Father and Son as well along with the car that connects the 2. This is definitely a bro movie but an emotional bro movie why do you think they have a cover of Stand by Me for this game!?!
true true but isnt brotherhood just for the anime?
Also just my opinion kinda sounds like a faction of some sort e.g. brotherhood of steel.
I don't know why i thought gladius would be doing regular pushups
I could tell they weren't normal push-ups by the angle. Seems appropriate for his character.
I'm honestly surprised he wasn't doing a one hand stand push ups.
LOL XD
Dlordalex123 Gladiolus just learned how to wield a heavy sword just like Cloud from Final Fantasy VII and Siegfried from the Soul Calibur series.
Before they even showed, I just knew he must’ve been doing in it a hardcore way. And sure enough, I was right
He wields a two-handed sword in one hand and a shield in the other frequently. He NEVER does average handstands.
Of course Gladiolus wouldn't be doing pushups like normal people.
Noctis has a personality and emotions? The cast are all bros with eachother? This is shaping up to be pretty great.
We have known all 3 of those details since like the announcement dude
this show ain't perfect but it does it's job wonderfully and that's showing us how unique and awesome these characters are
+Red Goop Wow... Just wow. I was drinking juice when I read this comment and I almost spit it all out.
+Red Goop hahahahaha did not see that one coming
Yes I hope the damn english translation doesn't ruin it. I mean just watch the english dub of the demo uah
Holy shit quit your bitching

The song that plays at the end(11:03) is so good.
No, of course not.
Yasuhisa Inoue
Susumi Akizuki
you'd do well to do some research before making assumptions and posting lol took me literally 30 seconds to find that
No she does not.
Well, sorry. Do you want a cookie for your hard work? There was no need for you to be an ass about it.
I've corrected my mistake. I hope you're happy.
+fast bike fucking bitch leave her alone
I love how they are expanding the universe before the game even comes out. By the time the game launches, we'll have alot of context about the characters and what their about.
Wish they had done this to previous FF games. I would've loved a XIII anime to have expanded the amazing world.
We got a cgi movie to help there as well.
a movie, or OVA's explaining the danm context of cocoon and the danm lore would have helped out a LOT, and cut some of the heavy reading you have to do to understand stuff in XIII. Same with XII, but at least i gave a fuck about Ivalice XD
a 13 anime wouldve been fucking incredible
XIII Anime for Sure!!! I would love that too!
am I the only one whos pissed off at the maid? "oh the prince of the country just took off on his own, meh"
LOL, SO DO I
like wtf
Yea that was weird.
But he was just running into what was supposed to be an enclosed garden inside the palace. No reason to think he was actually leaving the grounds.
Anime seems to do this quite often. It has always irked me.
Assassination failed We'll get em next time.
my favorite part was "you're grounded. now go take a bath"
Grindin' EXP with my bros!
This makes me cry. (Disclaimer: This is like the tenth or so time I've watched the entire Brotherhood Series. After watching this episode another time, I just thought I'd share some of my thoughts. Because a lot of people seem to hate Gladio. I will say he can be hard on Noct, and sometimes, he can be very dismissive, but after watching this episode, you can say he has made a lot of progress since they first met.)
Gladio was hard on Noct in the beginning--thought he was a spoiled, stubborn, prince with no depth, and a disregard for the rules.
Damn dude, people needing an explanation about why Gladio is so tough skinned, are the most spoiled brats ever.
Good thing they didn't wait a super long time to release this one. They waited forever to release episode 2
for now on it will be monthly
+Gustavo Henrique Awesome
They do one episode every major gaming event I think. There weren't any important ones between Uncovered and E3. If I had to guess the next two episodes will be around Gamescom in August and Tokyo Game Show in September.
It was suppose to release monthly leading up to FFXV's release, but they released ep 1 early for the Uncovered event
i need whole show, with 50 or more eps
And this is why I love Noctis:
He's actually very selfless and will take responsibility when it counts the most, even if he really shouldn't have to. He is quite observant and attuned to those around him even when they think he's blowing it all off. He can stand up for himself without looking like he's doing so out of desperation or pure frustration. He'll take the heat to spare someone else the pain. I love him. And I would want friends like him and his bros.
"Should we run?"
"And leave the meat?"
I find that really funny for some reason.
(Yes, not just Final Fantasy)
Everyone have a great day!
It is funny how at first glance, People relate to noctis as a "Sasuke" like characters. But this shows otherwise
Like the way he speak about the food (Meat) >_
+Balthier TSK Still looks like him though. But their personalitys are oceans apart.
Cold Dip
Well... In theory, Sasuke (Shipuden ver) Copied Noctis :v
Since Versus started at 2006, And Naruto shidupen Manga starts at 2008 >_
Well said
got tired of saying that so i tend to ignore sasuke jokes.glad to know someone else understands.
man, watching these brotherhood episodes and the Kingsglaive movie after playing the game just makes it so much more painful knowing how the game ends and what happened through out the game too.
Holyshit best anime of this year!!!! I'm so in love with Regis and the interiordesign!!!
are you serious? the animation, the line work for the characters themselves is god awful especially when they show the characters from far away
the background artwork of scenery, the decor yes i agree with you on that is top notice at least
I just love the background story they doing for the game, that's all, and that's why it's the best anime this year for me, I'm a fanboy after all.
lmao well at least you realize this unlike other fanboys fair enough lol
this backstory of noctis and gladio's friendship i liked but prompto's was done poorly imo, i mean losing weight okay sure but....all to wait like what 3-4 years to talk to someone banking you'll be in the same high school as them too, come on now lol
They saved the money on the anime for probably the best looking CG movie in existence
Well it is the best free anime of the year so .
After watching this I love Noctis even more, it's great to see how their relationship started.
Final Fantasy XV 2016 GAME OF THE YEAR!
+Galactic Bambi and this is just the prequel!
Why? That's the hype talking,The way they're going about the game is good but we'll know when the game gets released.
Sadly,Persona 5 comes next year in Q1 so we won't see a tough competition between the two games.
we don't know until the game releases.
I've never played a final fantasy game for more than a few hours at most, but with this series and all of the build up for the release, XV may just be my first time owning one.
Same here! Can't wait
I think you definitely should. You don't need to play any of the previous final fantasy games. All their stories are unique and have no ties between them.
This is the biggest final fantasy game in terms of hype and effort put into it.
***** I've delved into the lore enough to understand so. All aboard the hype train!
Cyborgamus Prime
Yeah for sure. I especially liked Prompto's episode, I mean, I'm not overweight and never have been but it still felt relatable and I know it related to other people too and that's just awesome.
Gladio's dad is Regis's bodyguard - he's in Kingsglaive.
*****
Just saw the trailer. Cool I guess lol
*****
That's correct and seeing the back stories of these characters is a step in the right direction (though I wish we learned a little more about Gladiolus' home life).
I love this strong brotherl bond. I REALLY do! Now show us Iggy's story!!!!!
I need to know his story including how he got that sweet hair.
Lauren Carroll XD
It's Final Fantasy, I think that beautiful and awesome hair just grows naturally in their world.
LOL XD
Zinervawyrm Haha maybe he's born with it. Maybe it's final fantasy XD
Lauren Carroll
Or maybe it's Maybeline Midgar collection.
Why does Iris look like one of the sweetest little sweethearts I've ever seen? That's because, she is! Beautiful stories, keep 'em coming!
Not gonna lie... This brought a tear to my eye.
almost did to me too.especially that music it was so good.
+狼黒 I didn't cry because of the music. The episode hit me right in the feels like Ultima.
Sadly... I'm having trouble with FF II. Let that sink in.
Really I found the girl super annoying
why the hell does Gladiolus look twice the age of Noctis? He's only 3 years older...
Because he's seen some shit!
+JuanyeTuda lol that makes him twice as big and old looking?
Yes, that's why I'm twice as big as my older brother and appear older.
+JuanyeTuda and how old are u and your brother
He's got me by 2 years. Sheesh, losing my mind over here.
Another good episode. 10 years in waiting for this game is worth it.... now I have to suffered a month waiting for Ignis... T^T
Honestly, this is the best episode yet. Good animation, interesting story and the characters gt more interesting as they go.
Damn, that closing music track starting from when young Noct and Gladio fist bump through the credits is beautiful.
Brotherhood: Noctis wielding greatsword like Guts.
Actual game: Noctis barely being able to effectively swing a greatsword.
They're taking a lot of trouble developing these characters backgrounds for us. I like that 👍
"Stand tall my son"
"Stand tall my friends"
Freaking kill me now....why am I rewatching this again...
Same. Like what the hell... Why am I hurting my heart even more with this!??
Mynamesbob8 Noctis is more human and less arrogant little rich brat.
HOW IS GLADIO 3 YEARS OLDER THAN HIM??IDK LOL hes so big when they were kids
Anyway, such an adorable episode! I hope they tell us how he got his eye scar in the actual game!
Growth spurt I guess? Some have it early and stop growing much afterwards and some just grow steadily until their 20s.
Growth spurt
Some people are just tall, you know.
look at Luna 4 years older. thats so bad.. i want noct and iris
Puberty hits hard :v
Just saying, lol
Please tell me Iris will be in actual game.
We see a glimpse of a scene where a girl that looks a lot like Iris is sitting in the back of the Regalia, next to Gladio
+assassintwinat8 If that's her, than I'm happy.
Which trailer is that? I'd like to go look at it myself.
shikamaru317 ah dude I do not remember
Their brotherly love and camaraderie makes me so happy.
Can I mention that Gladiolus hairstyle is killer?
Much respect to Noctis and Gladiolus. I'm actually jealous of the brotherhood they share. I'm glad this XV universe is exploring the brotherhood nature, it's not as common now an days and it's being executed refreshingly with FFXV.
Love theses shorts gets you in tuned with the characters. But I get feeling there is going be something very tragic that's going happen in the game. With them being so close to each other.
I love how Gladio and Iris are both named after flowers. It's such a charming touch!
I wish that they turn this into a full anime series.
This was a very touching episode, im loving this compilation.
And early impressions of Kingsglaive are praising it
Gladio and Noctis Relationship is that much more amazing
Oh Boy, I'm already worried about Gladiolus. He seems like the type of character who acts as a shield everyone else can hide behind, but then has to die to create some drama and forcing the other characters to grow up. I hope I'm wrong. Currently my favourite character of the FFXV cast by far.
Based on footage, they will all survive at least long enough to get to the final level.
Spoiler alert, Only Noctis live, The other die, And noctis became king
I hope that's not the case, that would be like a bad ending on a VN
Great episode about Gladdy and Noct can't wait for Ignis
This mini series has no right being this good. Well done.
Best gameplay, best graphics, best RPG, best story, best music, best everything!
+1
We still don't even know a lot about the story.
Aside from graphics, none of those things have been proved yet.
***** somnus theme is the best piece of videogame music in history, platinum demo has fantastic combat system and the story seems godly so far.
+Dinozo2 I wouldn't say the main theme is the piece musical piece in a video game ever made...And the platinum demos combat only had the easiest combat mode which made it boring pretty fast. But yeah the full game will have more combat options.
This is seriously giving a great vibe or their history for the game. Iris and Noct make excellent childhood friends as well.
simple story but the emotions that come across are strong
Well said. The FFXV bros is a thing and a strong one at that.
That's....pretty insightful.
QuangTran27
Well generally I don't think what you've been through gives any sympathy for hurting others.
Heather
If the village didn't fear the Uchiha clan, why did the people in charge of the village place the clan into their own little community? Done.
Prompto: Should we run?
Noctis: Huh? And leave the meat?
Priorities XD
My Abs Approve Of This Video.
So what's the real name of that absolutely cute AmIRighta sibling?
The cute one?
His name is Abacus. He is the Supreme Hero of this game: He Who Is Always Righta.
The lesson, in this episode, is that, sometimes, even when you take the wrong path and get lost - you may still find yourself on the Path of The Righta.
Grown up Iris looks so cool, if you guys haven't seen her, she was in a trailer, and in one of the older FFXV promo photos that show half of the character's faces. Really like how Gladiolus was Nocti's teacher, makes sense how he is the one who practices with you in Duscae demo.
I have a theory: you know the mysterious girl on the trailer riding the car with Noctis and the others...? yeah I think she's Gladio's sister
Maybe but that girl had black hair while Iris's hair is brown .
Some hair colours darken as the person gets older - I had white blonde hair, now it's much darker.
Raine Connolly Well ,we have less than three months to know .
She was sitting in the car with the top (dunno whats the english word for it is :p) getting pulled down - meaning shadows could`ve influenced it. The haircut fits too good to that woman in the trailer.
link and time plz im too lazy :p
I can tell you as the oldest of the four brother: there is not a bond like Brotherhood! It is amazing.
I wrestle and train in gym, second is an acrobat, third is a soccer player and the youngest is american football player.. (yeah.. and father is a bodybuilder)
And the point is? I've waited the game freaking 10 years!! And now I'm happy to know it is about Brotherhood: one of the greatest of bonds. Does anyone agree?
God bless ;)
This was adorable as shit but why is everyone shipping Noct and Iris? She's like 6 and he's like 13.
she seem to be 8 and noctis was 14 but yea.....the age gap is too wide for that eww lol
It's still adorable
But Noctis and Lunafreya 4 year gaps is ok xD? (Genuine curiosity)
+Carlos Álvarez age gaps will seem more and more irrelevant as people grow up. love and political matters will transcend numbers! 😭
Remember, this is royalty we're talking about. Henry II was 15 when he married Eleanor of Aquitaine... who was 28. When it comes to royal marriages, age gaps are not an issue.
That was really awesome. And added a lot of context to why Iris has always been sweet on him and why Gladiolus wants him to be his king.
Literally the first 6-7 seconds of fighting :
Noctis: 'smacks beast'
Gladio: 'slices beast'
Prompto: *runs away screaming*
The ending soundtrack is so beautiful, holy shit. I can't wait for this game.
I absolutely love how we get to see the world within the show and how its setup. with games nowadays moving towards multi media advertising such as shows, comics, book, etc. it allows the audience to focus more on the character development and the story with less questions of how the world works.
Ok in the previous episode was a dog, this one a cat... what's coming?
bird? rabbit?
giraffe
+Nakamasa Only Last of Us could pull that off also #MormonTempleInBackgroundMadeSceneEvenBetter lol
Don't forget the snake in the first episode.
I want to see a fucking Chocobo!
And a Carbuncle in the DLC(wich is prety much in between the flashback of the first episode)
These episodes are just beautiful, I love getting all of this backstory and character depth!
Ah A-1 pictures, the creators of every hip anime with black-clad protagonists.
"And leave the meat??" mah boi Noctis got his priorities right
Rewatching this now cus I’m about to playthrough it again but with all the dlc’s too. My god this made me cry too much! Lol
These are so great! With FF XV and all the various content preluding to it there is really a sense of history for everyone. The game starts and every character has had been living there respective lives up to that point and with these we can have a glimps into that and understand how their bonds were made.
I have to say, I'm a little disappointed we didn't find out how Gladiolus got that scar. When I saw young Gladdy without it I thought we would.
maybe we'll know more in the game
I feel like he got it while sparring with Noctis
In the game, Episode Gladiolus to be specific, Prompto makes a comment of the 2 new scars Gladio gets, saying "well it goes well with the one you got when you saved Noct from that bully!"
Which means Gladio might've gotten the first scar on his face around the time Noct was probably in highschool, or a bit beyond that.
I know i'm late but i had to do it, the scar in his eye is from protecting Noctis from a drunk. It's in the guide of the game lol
I love how this series is getting us connected with the characters. I cannot wait for Final Fantasy XV to release!!!
Man, hope his sister makes it in the game
why...
Funny interactions, embarrassing Gladdy stories... Something fun after traveling around the long road.
Your wish has come true !
This is the best promotion ever! They're really making up for the 10 years we had to wait! I'm that much more hyped for the game to come out!
I played episode duscae until i was lvl 99(3 days) and im ready for this shit
how was the combat? The music and the characters are awesome so the only thing I'm worried about was the combat
The combat was was really interesting how you could change weapons for different abilities and the chain attacks were pretty fun! There is also a parry mechanic to make things more interesting, the demos combat system isn't the final version and it has a lot of improvements to be made but as a base demo it was fun!
TheDeciet did you record any gameplay?
Omg I'm starting to feel so much for the characters, these episodes create way more depth in the characters and in the bonds of friendship they share. I can't wait to receive my PS4 and begin this adventure!!!
I swear I love these fucking flashbacks it's just so touching
This anime is brilliant. The game isn't even out yet and I understand the dynamic of the characters relationships to noct. I already feel more emotionally invested in the cast than i have any FF in years! Sept 30th is so far yet so close! I CAN'T FUCKING WAIT FOR THIS GAME!!!!
I wonder if Iris will be in the game. Bet therell be a side quest where she gets lost chasing something. lol I wonder how she will look all grown up! XD
I think she might be the biker girl we briefly see in the trailers
+Iqbalx1 That's Crowe
the biker girl is crowe.
Gladdy can you be my daddy
Daddy'o Gladio.
Daddy O'lus
+KoeSeer that face looks so funny, please tell me where it's from(•_•)/
I'll take a wild guess that's Shulk from Xenoblade Chronicle. One of the best J-RPG (:
Shin Nguyễn that's a crazy guess............I like it!
Omg Noct's smile at 12:18 hit me right in the heart!
Yes First hail FFXV
^^ congrats hail FFXV xD
You know what I love about Noctis?
On the surface, he has the attitude of Squall... He doesn't care, he's just doing his own thing and moving along.
But deep down, he's a good guy. He cares about protecting others, the well-being of others. He just doesn't want it to necessarily show.
I guess Iris was the girl riding with Noct and Gladio in the Uncovered Trailer.
that is a possibility, however, that girl in the car had black hair, though it is still entirely possible. =]
Yup.
That's what I was thinking too lol
Her hair isn't pitch black liks Noctis, in fact it looks slightly more brown than Gladiolus', so it could very well be her.
And she's mainly looking in Gladiolus' direction, so it seems the two of them have some kind of bond.
Her hair could be brown in the car, too. If you look at it, you'll notice that her hair is covered in the shadows made by the car's top as it's being put down. If you look at Gladio's hair, you'll notice that it's much darker in the shade of the car's top and then shows the brown once the top is down.
It's be confirmed in a scan that it is her
The moments where they show that Noctis isn't an asshole still catch me by surprise. I'm loving this brohood more and more
But why does Gladio look 20 & Noct look 13 but they're only 3 years apart
Anime
gladio apparently hit puberty at like 7 lol
He was just really tall for being like 14 or 15 years old. I seen people who at those ages who look older than they are. Remember gladio is three years older than noct.
+griffin patrick lol probably not uncommon for that my older brother by like 10 was pretty tall
+griffin patrick lucky bastard
All of these episodes give me goose pimples and make me tear up a little. I'm fully invested in these characters already. I can't FREAKEN wait to play this game!
Kitty confirmed to be main villain!
It's great to get such an in depth feel for the characters before the game is even out. By the time we start playing we will already be emotionally invested in their struggle
super nice! can't wait for Kingsglaive and FFXV game!
I like how Gladio just flipped his sister on the couch like it was nothing. I love those two.
Believe me... Ignis will be the best ep.. he such a cool n intelligent big brother... and got this kuroshitsuji kind of vibes...
Ignis is my least favorite out of the four. Sorry not sorry.
+venrosonitas hmmmm... we all need to know him first right before making that decision... at first my least likeable is gladio but now... cute sister and such... I don't know... :D
+Hsatar Rafai I mean I like sll of them, but Ignis is last. I guess because I'm not a big fan of the big muscle dudes.
Ignis isn't a big guy, though. He's skinny haha
+Matthew J. Boone Sorry, I meant Gladio. haha. Ignis is one of my favorites.
The music towards the end really pulls the episode to a close. Looking forward to the next two, the three we've seen so far have been absolutely beautiful. Expecting the same heartwarming feel for Ignis incoming. :'D
oh the feels,on that one, wonder what has happened to Gladiolus' sister now too.
