There's a lot of videos on Ascension but it seems like 99% are the same thing and none of them really help new players. I learned more in this video than playing for the last 2 days and watching the newby chat. Thank you.
This is one of the better guides on youtube for ascension. Everything is clear and concise. Most of the other channels do not know how to make a clear guide for new players.
Appreciate those words brother, always open to criticism to improve my content from the lens of a beginner's eyes, I try to think of questions they might inherently ask, like "oh this NPC is important? Where are they?" And try to answer those questions visually so they don't have to go somewhere else for this.
Thanks for the video. I have recently started playing and was wondering about Prestiging and how it worked. This gave me an improved understanding of its mechanics. Elune - Cinderhide
Prestige sounds a bit like guild wars 2, where you keep getting xp after max, but you choose what "track" you want to level up. This is perfect for me, because I don't have much time for end-game and just like levelling
The video was very well made, good job! Its important to inform new players on the ins and outs of the game, this way they will stick around for longer and help keep the game very lively! LOL🤣 ~Elune - Anumaril
8:43 how are you able to draw multiple skills and lock/reroll them like this? I haven't been able to find any information on it but I've seen multiple videos with people doing it on the first skill roll
So, it depends on what server you are playing on, but on the Elune seasonal server, after your first prestige, you unlock ALL of the level 1 skill cards. Ascension devs implemented it so that you can slot in your level one cards, click the dice at the top of the screen, and automatically roll all of the cards you picked, and then you can click the red X's in your skill cards screen to get rid of the used cards. This was implemented to get rid of the tedium of sitting there rolling forever for the perfect 4 starting abilities you wanted.
@@michellerenee92580 I've been meaning to make a channel guild but I'm a pve focused player so if pvp is your lifeblood you won't find a pvp community with me unfortunately
Ok, that cleared a bit of confusion on prestiging but I still have a question. As a new player I have a very low amount of cards unlocked as I'm approaching level 60, should I work on unlocking more before the first prestige? For instance, I am leveling as a dire bear right now and would like to try out the cat build for manastorm prestige that you presented here but I don't have those cards, should at least get those first? Is there a fast way to unlock those? Thanks in advance. As for the giveaway my character name on Elune is Fuldai.
An honestly great question, the biggest thing I recommend for collecting packs early on is to go to your callboard at max level, and do as many of those daily quests as you are willing to at one time. They are the best resource of marks in the game, but they have a limited number of completions, if you're a new player your daily quests are going to be capped out. They're relatively easy to do, and most of the daily quest zones can be teleported to instantly with the transportler, a big mechanical platform thing. Once you've collected a solid amount of marks, let's say 150,000. Spend it all on another spec that you aren't prestiging, so that you can keep them for later. I recommend specs 4 and above, so that one day when you unlock these you have a massive amount of scrolls to help with making a build for that specialization. Turning marks in gives you 50 packs per max turn in. Other than that I also recommend manastorm raids, some people will advertise a 10 or more player manastorm group that is going from 1-100. That gives an absurd amount of gold, packs, and beginner end game gear. Jump into those if you can. I think you need Fel-Infused Weapon (or Flame tongue Weapon), Cat-a-clysm, and Devil's Claws to have a good time with the build, but you can scrape by on just the weapon enchant while you collect cards too! I honestly don't have a use for cards anymore so I wish I could trade them to new players like you! Cheers mate thanks for the question. Let me know if you need any more help!
@@metrana0724 Hey thanks for the super-fast reply, I'll make sure to do some dailies and farm some marks before trying to prestige. Thanks for the advice. The card pack farming video would be very helpful, looking forward to that :D

Must dos are really analyzing how your build players, whether you like it or not, how well it's performing (and if that really matters to your enjoyment) and after you think about those things you really have your answers. There's no content that you miss out on if you prestige too early, nor is there content that exponentially boosts the effectiveness of your prestiging. The only thing I might recommend is collecting the end game skill cards you that you can get a hold of for the build you WANT to play, like some of the open world skill card drops!
It seems like a lot of these system guides and build videos are based upon playing on Elune the wildcard server. How does this work on Area 52 with the premade archtypes and the ability to pick what spells that you want without the randomness? What is the difference? Like for instance' I can can start at level one with a premade Defias Gunslinger build on Area 52 that has an automatic spell, talent and enchant advancement, but what happens when I get that character to 70 and I want to prestige to try out the Dark Ranger archtype? Is that even something I can do? Do I lose the ability to play my Defias Gunslnger without prestiging back to that butild and leveling again? I appreciate any answers from anyone who knows how this process works on Area 52. Have Fun :)!
Yes and no, they go back to area 52 which is the permanent realm. At the start of each seasonal realm you can get a vanity collection item, either with real life money or buying it from the auction house. After you use it you instantly get back ALL vanity items on the seasonal realms. Like your mounts, pets, convenience items, and heirlooms.
@@metrana0724 yeah I didn’t realize you have to get back to 60 every time. I thought it was just a random daily you could do. But I still enjoy prestiging so it’s nice
I honestly have no experience or interest in Area 52 as a server, but I might give it a try here soon and see about making guides for that specific community, because I know there's a LOT of you, but i'm just as new to that server as someone just starting. You could argue I could pick it up easier since I have general ascension experience, but it's not been tested. Thanks for the comment!
The skill cards tab can be accessed by pressing "N" on your keyboard (by default). There should be a tab on the bottom of the window that pops up called Skill cards, and you can find them there!
Unfortunately this season died for me the first few weeks. Couldnt make a build I wanted to play and then mythic+ came out and I couldnt do them as i didnt have a build. I left and havent been back. This season is a total waste of time and I probably wont be back to ascension because of it. CoA ill give a go but they took the piss this season.
Just doing manastorms you'll get a lot more scrolls and thus will make your desired build A LOT faster. For a new player, Prestige will take an hour or so. For the same amount of time in group MS you can do 1-100 Manastorms which will again give you not only many scrolls, but the loot itself which you can not only wear but just vendor it for good amount of gold😅
That's definitely true but peoples builds, especially when they're a beginner, aren't always great in manastorm. The lvl 1-100 raids are definitely huge for newer players as you really need only like 3 dudes who are 20k DPS to do the whole thing for everyone. I'm making a card pack farming guide that'll include manastorm raids as a method and I'll definitely touch on this. Thanks for the comment
Took me a couple of weeks to level up to 70. I decided not to prestige cause i didn't know what id be losing or if i actually received the rewards for getting to 70 with my featured build. It just isnt clear in game.
