My priest did a pretty good Rafiki impression in a sermon a couple weeks ago. He was talking about how sometimes we hear something that is uniquely suited to call us back to who we are meant to be and what changes we need to make. And a person standing next to us won't need that exact realization, so they're just... "Very peculiar weather we're having!"
It doesn't matter how many times I've seen this movie, the scene where Simba finds Mufasa dead in the gorge always gets me in the heart. Especially the fact that Scar gaslights Simba into thinking it was his (Simba's) fault and Johnathan Taylor Thomas' line delivery. Also, I am very glad they cast James Earl Jones as Mufasa. As much as I respect the actor, they almost cast Christopher Walken. Side note: Some of the character's names have meanings translated out of Swahili Simba: Lion Nala: Gift Mufasa: King Sarabi: Mirage Rafiki: Friend Pumbaa: Slow-Witted Zazu: Movement Shenzi: Savage Banzai: Skulk or lurk Taka (Scar's original name): Waste Timon (His name actually comes from Greek): Respect or Honor
How did Simba know that the lioness attacking Pumbaa was Nala (41:10)? She pinned down his shoulders in the same way that she had done to him twice previously whilst both were still cubs (just before the elephant graveyard bit); that was enough to jog Simba's memory and make him realise that this was Nala pinning him down and not just some other random lioness.
Actually... Nala its not Simbas friend.. Nala is her cousin, because the Lion leader mates with every female lion, so... Nala and Simba are in a little family affair to be honest.
Amazing classic The Lion King with an amazing cast the voices of James Earl Jones (Darth Vader voice) Whoopi Goldberg, Matthew Broderick, Jeremy Irons, Nathan Lane and the theme song "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" performed by Elton John won an Oscar for best original song. Thank you Miss Venezuela great reaction
Did you know they was also a lion king video game from this that came out after this I know cause I've played it I was born in 1991 and brother same year as this movie.
Would love to see you react to disney tarzan from 1999
Scar was the "lying king".
That's a good one.
It's more like a "Fagot King"... Lol
Nice word play

THANK YOU
Male lions always have a mane, lionesses don't have one. That's how Timon could tell Nala was a female when she started chasing Pumbaa.
The bit where Rafiki defeated those hyenas with martial arts got a big laugh when I first watched the film.
Uh... first of all, martial arts doesn't exist in that universe.😅
Can you watch The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride.
This movie is actually based on Hamlet, by Shakespeare. So you're not wrong when you say that its themes show up in famous literature! 😁
Ignore any negative comments, the negative ppl don't speak for the rest of us. Loved your reaction and hi from Australia 😇
Glad you enjoyed it!
Simba was tricked by Scar twice!!! Not his fault.
A great childhood movie of mine, thanks, Venezuela girl. Take care and God bless you, and greetings from Colombia to you as well.
