- National Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (NIPMR) is an autonomous Institution under the Social Justice Department. NIPMR designs, develops and implements therapeuticals, educational, vocational and awareness programmes in disability for the service providers, who are working for the care and cause of children/persons with disabilities for their rehabilitation and mainstreaming in the society.
Department of physiotherapy aims at improving functional mobility and quality of life. This department has Paediatric, Ortho and Neuro physiotherapy units. Clients are assessed and are provided with age appropriate goals which are concerned with achieving and restoration of functions. The department has modern equipments such as therapeutic laser, bio feedback system, functional electrical stimulation, body weight supported treadmill training etc.
Physiotherapy(BPT) some realities
1)Majority of physiotherapy graduates dont have job or working with very less salery many physiotherapist left the field for lively hood
2)5060 physiotherapy graduates passed out each year in south India itself. 200 beded hospital only need 1 physiotherapist . Students passed out previas years remains hear as jobless how many hospitals should be there to accomodate this huge number
3)Job opertunities abroad also reducing substatialy each year, physiotherapist who migrated to US UK Caneda Australia works in supermarket Hotels petrol pumb etc.Many gulf countries now appoints employes who are natives of that country
4)Many hospitals now converting their physiotherapy department to Physical medicine and rehabilitation (PMR)HOD will be physiatrist (MBBS DPMR )role of a physiotherapist in this department is just a helper
5)Since there is no regulatory authority(council) for physiotherapy in India somany unautherised practices (quakery)going on in this field This also reduces job opertunities
6)Now a days new threat also there... Bvok physiotherapy that is common in normal arts collage only 3 years, course. Hospitals appoint these people with less salary
7)In big hospitals physiotherapy is under physiatrist when it comes to small hospital it is under nursing suprend. It is duty of physiotherapist to pull physio machine trolley to bed side of each patient in wards for treatment their condition is bad than ward boys
8)Running own clinic need huge investment no patients approach physiotherapist directly. Reference from medical doctors is a must usualy they give pain killers to patient or ask commission for each reference. Majority of clinics closed already or in loss
9)"Physiotherapists are called as doctors "" these are only just canvasing words of agents during admision. In practical sence none of the hospitals, gov bodies allow this
10)Going for MPT (post graduation)not makes changes there is no propotionate grouth in income after doing that. Main aim of mpt holders are to become professor in bpt collages but collages appoint physiatrist (MD physiatry)as professors & principal in collages
11)If a person join BPT who are the benificiaries. Career guidance people who took admission will get commission. Collage authorities will get donation fees fine etc in huge amount After struggling 4 & half years. Private hospitals will appoint him as a trainee (slave)with out salary and charge him thousands for experience cirtificate after some years this physiotherapist will quit physiotherapy field for livelihood

In many hospitals physiotherapy department itself vanishing they converting it to physical medicine & rehabilitation (PMR)and the head will be physiatrist. physiotherapist work there as a technitian with less salery
Hi bro i am from india and three months before I have taken MRI THAT RESULT shows quads and patella tendon insertion. And the doctor said to me add some wait to the ankle and lift it sit on the bench. So have done exercise over . That leg become thin other than one. Is it curable from physio theraphy. Get to normal position

23 bpt cllages in tamil nadu seats 1050karnataka 42 seats 1680. kerala 15 total seats 650 total out put of students in south india 3380 students passed out in earlier years still in job market with out proper job. Just think how many hospitals should be there to accomodate this huge number
Skill experience hard work passion dedication nothing going to helps you. hospital authorities only need physiotherapist working in less salary or no salary (trainees)or even with paying to hospital authorities. Some hospitals charge physiotherapist thousands for just a cirtificate

@@riyat5698 Actually there's no difficulties for girls only. It's our society giving us bad assumptions. Nowadays in most of the fields girls are equally competing with boys.. it's an old assumption that girls can't do what the boys can.. we have to be brave & we should come forward & prove our strength.. In my batch there r 83 students. among thm 54 r girls.. so frm this u may understand.. physio is an amazing career..💙
