Jenn, this is great. I have not seen this way to bind before and I love the simplicity of it. Your ribbon dangles came out great. I love Roben-Marie's videos as well and you did her proud with this journal. Take care ~~rita
I absolutely adore this little beauty! Thanks for the inspiration ... paper is never safe in my craft room and you've just upped the anti ;-) I'll definitely be making a few of these gems! Can't wait to see how you use the pages :-)
Such a beautiful little book that you have made!! I love the colours and the way you have bound you book! This has really inspired me in making a little book just like this!! :)
What a lovely little journal, it looks like it is going to be a fun journal to work in. By the way the ribbon you use to tie it off looks like sari ribbon which is made from silk and is rather beautiful. Look forward to seeing your take on the challenge. Hugs Anne xx
what kind of sewing machine did you use?,or can you use a regular sewing machine, I heard that if you use a regular sewing machine that the paper gums up the machine. is that true?
Katie Felgar I use a regulat sewing machine. It's a Janome SchoolMate. The guy at the shop told me that it's ok to sew paper but it is harder on your machine. He said to use a small needle and brush out the dust and paper fibers after each use and give it a good deep clean (taking everything apart, oiling things etc) pretty regularly. I have not had a problem. I heard some people use a Janome Charm (i think) for just paper stuff. It's small and only about $80. Hope that helped!
Perfect! With all this ribbons and threads sticking out and different pages- I am in love! xo
Thanks Asia! 💖
shank. The button has a shank~thanks for showing this technique. I have some shanked buttons in my button box and now I know how to use them!!! :)
Ah! Thank you..I had no idea!

What a great little art journal!
Beautiful journal, I hope you'll show your daily art... thank you Jenn!
So glad you shared this!!! I want to give it a try!!! I need to find that wax string for binding. I've used larger ribbon and don't exactly like that.
I was hoping to make a book for the challenge and I love how simple the binding is!
mam1016 Yay! yeah, it's gotta be simple for me. I love the look of those complicated bindings but don't have the patience!
love it, can't wait to try it.

This is AWESOME!!!!
I am not a person who sews with a machine at all, is there a special needle I should use and a speed setting when sewing through all the papper?
So neat!
Love it.
love it!!!!
Gorgeous thanks for such a great tutorial. Where did you find the thread?
