My mom was a manager for a long time. What Hudson’s doing is actually a good management skill: giving the idiot you can’t or don’t want to fire some useless task that makes them feel super special and gets them out of everyone else’s hair lol.
This is no headcanon, now that you've put it together it couldn't be more clear this is plainly implied by the dialogue XD "Please mr hudson I want to help!!" "Oh uh.. you can.. go put up these signs over hyrule!" "Aw, just signs..?" "N-No no! These are.. important signs! Yes, super important! So important, that I'm making this a secret mission for you, one only you could do!"
I always assumed Addison was an ex Yiga clan member and Hudson was giving him a shot at a new life. His ability to be everywhere at once, being fine with being in extreme weather, the items he gives Link can only be found in the depths, his obsession with his boss to the point of having his hairstyle. I like the idea that Hudson would give him this "special task" to make him feel better and so his other employees don't have to work with a former Yiga member directly
That’d make sense why he can just appear and disappear everywhere, he even has the same hair colour as all the yiga members and a slight slouch similar to the yiga as well (except it looks like his posture is slightly better)
@@froggycolouring this might not be an in-universe thing but I noticed he’s also oddly larger than link and I had the same feeling looking at link standing next to the yiga members. They’re like a foot taller than him but it might just be because they’re scaled up slightly for gameplay reasons.
Hudson might also have been thinking that Addison would never be able to put up all those signs without learning something about carpentry. If so, Link is screwing things up by helping him.
Hey WolfLink! I finally got caught up on the challenge run series and noticed no uploads for about a month. Saw the other comments about the gaming break per IRL so no rush/no pressure, just checking to see if you’re doing ok! We’ll be here for more whenever you get back into it🙂
Love this. I had basically the same headcanon that Addison's job was Hudson's way of "kicking him upstairs", but you worded it all so much better and with perfect comedic delivery to boot. ❤
Be honest, Wolf Link. You just wanted to show off your silly Hudson Construction Signs 😝 But don't worry. You have our full support! At least Addison also gives you decent food, rupees and somewhat valuable resources like bomb flowers or Muddlebuds for helping him (based on how well you do). Also great to see you're back! We love fun speculative Zelda lore videos like these, but take all the breaks you need, when needed!
Good to have you back mate! I literally looked up your account earlier today because I missed watching the minimalist challenge. A nice coincidence to have you post the same day 😊
I have to think that putting up Hudson signs even out in the middle of nowhere would work wonders even for such a strong brand. Even so, I like Addison. Easy 20 rupees, meal, and bomb flower.
I like this idea, and it makes total sense given the context clues. As far as if Hudson fires him or Addison realizes what’s up, I would lean to the latter. Especially given how the player had to help him with every single sign.
Glad to see you back, and with such a delightful video to boot! Addison definitely comes off as the desperate-to-overachieve type, yet not really achieving much of anything. Maybe he's the adoptive nephew or something else that would make him owe Hudson a great debt, and Addison wants to be just like Hudson when he gets older. In any case, whatever the reason, I had fun with the "puzzles". I never allowed myself to use Zonai devices, so I built something out of scraps of wood or a frog, whatever was around.
For anyone who doesn't know, after you help Addison put up all the signs you can find him at various stables listening to the Stable Trotters play music, he even still stands like he's holding a sign which he states is out of habit
It's starting to get better, but due to some unfortunate IRL events I had to take an unplanned break from gaming for a while. I'll eventually resume the challenge tho, don't worry ;)
As silly as Addison is, he paid well in the early game with Ruppes, food, and a Depths item, so I went out of my way to help him. He's not smart, but Iappreciate his dedication and how much he appreciates my helping him.
Always delighted to see you pop up in subscriptions. I almost feel a little bad because I basically ignore his quest completely now, but he's like the eccentric co-worker that doesn't mean or do any harm, he's just very differently skilled. And always gives you a snack when you help him out. Even if your pockets are full.
He gives you a new paraglider design if you help him put up all the signs. Not worth it if you ask me since he’s about as annoying as the Koroks, only unlike them, you can’t Ultrahand him to a Zonai contraption and send him off into space.
My headcannon is that phantom ganon (or maybe a yiga) disguised as Hudson and gave him that mission just trying to get him killed by a monster in some remote part of hyrule. Or maybe they knew Link would want to help him put up all the signs and would then get himself killed looking for the guy, or get ambushed while he was distracted helping him hold up the sign.
Hudson talking to Addison during construction is like: "Hey Addison, I have a very important job for you" 'What is it?!' "Grab a pot, fill it with water, and then wait for it to boil, and then bring it here" 'But how will this help with the construction?' "Oh, boiled water is very important, so much that when you bring it here, I need you to go back and boil some more!" 'I got it boss, I'll bring the most boiled water ever for you!' "( Phew, that's going to keep him occupied for some time)"
I always felt bad taking the riceballs he gave me as thanks, since he's already so skinny and obviously doesn't have the carpentry skills to pay the bills
i remember hating this guy, not because he or his puzzles were annoying, but because if he was anywhere near a cliff like above the forgotten temple and my horse happened to be around, he'd push the construction AND MY HORSE off the cliff and kill it. he did that at least twice and both time I had to use an earlier save (didnt find the horse god yet, and i didnt wanna use another one than my first steed from botw)
This one was pretty cool, since I stopped bothering with the signs pretty early on I never thought about it that much, even if it was kinda obvious lol
He'll be hanging out with the Stable Trotters, listening to their music, standing around as if he was still holding an invisible signpost. I haven't checked yet what happens if you complete all of his puzzles before the Stable Trotters go touring again.
Addison sucks at building, but he's a fantastic explorer. He 100% missed his calling.

After you do all of his signs, he probably left Hyrule entirely to put up signs where nobody has ever heard of Hudson.
Actually you find Addison at stables listening to the Stable Trotters
He’s on his way to termina next, he could probably hold up the moon on his own with how dedicated he is to holding those signs for possibly months …

"Habsburgson" had me coughing out a nose full of hot tea! I'm glad to see this isn't just my headcanon!
I started calling him "Addisimp" by the end of the game.

4:58 this part is perfect lmaooo💀💀
They say that comedy is half timing, and the octo-balloon had just the right timing lol
This is my headcanon NOW!
Love how you underscored everything with simply perfect footage. Headcanon accepted
Hey man. Just checking in. Hope you’re okay. Looking forward to your next upload ❤️

That shot with the Goron at 3:51 is so… perfectly uncanny.

Maybe Addison finally found a sempai who noticed him 😔

Hey Wolf Link, are you okay? I've been watching your videos every time they've popped up, been missing those! Hope you'll be back soon❤
poor Addison
he would have been an incredible explorer
glad to see ya back to posting!!! hoping things are going well for ya?

@@WolfLink_justlookingfordragon as long as you're not overworking - or, well, gaming - yourself. we love the challenge but take the time you need!!!
Love the timing of the Octo-balloon popping.
Found your channel recently, you inspired me to start to finish my totk playthrough!

Oh god why did you have to say this I wanna feed him now
I wanna know how he's getting the money to pay Link and give him food
Welcome back Wolf Link, how has life been?
Exhausting ^^° IRL has been not exactly fun for a while, but it is starting to get better.
@@WolfLink_justlookingfordragonThat's good to hear, here's hoping it continues to get better

Great job! Nice to see you back. I guess the only question remaining is how Addison survives traversing Hyrule on his own. ^_^

Born to be a groupie, i suppose.
I love Addison. He's the worst adveriser ever. And that means he's perfect.
Hi twilight :)
I HATE THIS GUY SO MUCH i think youre right about everything

Hope you're doing fine.
