This episode was originally on NBC Mar. 10, 1986, which is the date when NBC aired the conclusion of "Dress Gray".

What a treat to see the original network versions of these openings and closings and not syndicated, DVD, or fan made versions. Some complain that the announcers talking over the music is annoying but that is how networks promoted their programs at the time and not the squeezed credits that have been the norm for the past 15 years or so. It is the same concept just a different practice.

Hell, I would take a VO over squeezed credits anytime of the day! I wish Antenna would start doing that.

Another Miller-Boyett show in "Perfect Strangers", which also premiered in the spring of 1986, also originally had its season 1 episodes end with the 1978 Lorimar logo. For some reason, the seasons 1 & 2 DVD of that show has the Lorimar-Telepictures logo on all episodes.

I noticed that the one little girl in the M&Ms commercial is different from the 1983 version. What's up with that?

Lorimar and Telepictures merged that year.

The font for the S1 closing credits are the exact same fonts used on another Miller-Boyett in "Family Matters." For S2, it was the same font used in the closing credits of "All in the Family." From S3 (when it 1st changed to Valerie's Family (then The Hogan Family from S4 onward) until the series' end in 1991, the font is the same font used as the one from NBC's "Cheers."

Still yet another Miller-Boyett show used Bookman Old Style (the Valerie S1 and Family Matters font)---Getting By, in its first season only. In GB's second season, the main font (excluding the special type used in the S2 opening sequence) was in Hobo, otherwise known as the 'Dukes of Hazzard' font.

The Hogan Family is a Miller-Boyett production in association with Lorimar Television and is distributed by Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution.

A lot of episodes of Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution shows had voiceovers in syndication probably until they started to air around 1995.
