    Home Radio Frequency Skin Tightening is something I have been doing for the past 15 months, using it as part of a home beauty sandwich treatment, but I always wondered if my radiofrequency machine reached the correct temperature to work as it should do. Home RF machines promise to reach optimum temperatures, but I've had plenty that really don't.
    To finally answer this question, I am using the FLIR One IR Thermal Imaging Camera to gauge my surface skin temperature and ensure it is reaching between 41 and 44 degrees celsius. I also answer some more commonly asked questions such as is radiofrequency safe for all skin types? How often should I use radiofrequency skin tightening? Does radiofrequency skin tightening cause fat loss? And much more!
    This is a really visual guide to how radiofrequency skin tightening works - letting you see what the eyes can't detect? So, are home rf skin tightening machines worth it? Find out right here.

I love that you tell us how many times a week starting out and then how to work up through the weeks to every 8 weeks to maintain what you have!! Your awesome! I love watching your channel!! Just a question … do you know how long to wait to RF after you’ve put in facial threads! I put in 20 in the jowls and neck and I’m bruised so don’t want to damage any healing at this point! Thank you in advance! ❤️

    • @TJTutorials
      @TJTutorials  2 года назад +2

      Hi. So with PDO threads, you want to wait around a month for them to settle. After this, they will already be starting to break down and the RF can help boost collagen around them.

    • @TJTutorials
      @TJTutorials  2 года назад +1

      Hey lovely I tried it with the Hifu, but the action of the two frequencies makes it hard to see. The hifu shot is very narrow and targeted. The other thing is that the mini hifu also has RF built-in, so again, it's hard to see the hifu heat vs that.

      Hi Mo Jo. I have the Lumo and have made videos demonstrating it. RF is safe to use on all skin tones. The only thing to be aware of is if you are prone to melasma, which the heat RF generates could make worse.

    • @TJTutorials
      @TJTutorials  2 года назад

      Hi Yael, the best way to combine RF with threads is to give a good 4 weeks between threads and RF to minimise any early destruction of them. After this point, RF will work with them to boost collagen in the entire area treated.

    • @TJTutorials

    • @TJTutorials
      @TJTutorials  2 года назад +2

      Hi Cat. I don't use RF on the upper cheeks as a general rule as I don't want to disturb the fat I have there. RF would not be ideal for the malar pads as it could exasperate them or cause uneven fat loss. The best thing IMO would be a combination of threads and mesotherapy.

    Hi TJ, thanks for the clear, informative videos. Was just hoping you could clarify something, I've bought a cavitation / radio frequency machine online... The RF body head does feel hot to the touch, does this mean it's not true RF? Should it always feel cold to the touch? Would a thermometer (like the gun style ones) read the skin temperature accurately? Thanks so much if you can help xxxx

    • @TJTutorials
      @TJTutorials  2 года назад

      Hi Christina Rose. The RF heads should never feel hot to the touch and should feel cool (unless you've been using it on the skin for more than 10 minutes and it's warm to the touch right after). The reason for this is because RF generates heat as it passes through the skin cells and not from the device itself.

    Questions TJ. Do home RF devices melt fat in the face? I want the skin tightening but really don’t want to lose anymore fat off my face than I already have.
    Also can RF affect threads in the face? What kind of time period would you allow between doing threads & an RF treatment?
    Apologies if I’ve asked too many questions 🙏🏽

    • @TJTutorials
      @TJTutorials  2 года назад +2

      Hey Shaz Home RF devices are highly unlikely to cause facial fat loss. WHen compared to professional machines that achieve temperatures of upwards of 90C, they are much gentler. If used conservatively (not every day) there should be little to no issues. I personally found that when I used pdo threads in the past, waiting 4 weeks was sufficient.

  • @justinfalk7511

    Thanks, TJ!! Would definitely like you to compare this device with the Tipollar you reviewed awhile back. The temperature autosensing feature of the Tripollar is attractive, but is it accurate? Is it worth paying hundreds more? If the only way to verify a device is to buy a $200 camera, then it makes Tripollar more attractive. Could you use a different heat sensing device? I bought a device to heat map areas of my house that need more insulation. I wonder if that would work.

    I bought the same machine you have (through your affiliate link) except mine only came with 2 flat disk probes. I have a high pain tolerance, but I can't stand going above level 3. Is it just something I have to work up to? I've had the machine for 2 weeks and used it 3 times.
    Also, you said you added salt to your gel, doesn't that pull the water out of it and make it runny?
    Thank goodness for your tutorials b/c the manual translation is awful.

    • @TJTutorials
      @TJTutorials  2 года назад

      Hi :) level three is definitely a good place to be with the flat probes. As they cover a larger surface area, the heat is way more noticeable. If that's your limit, stick with it. Salt only draws moisture out if left to sit. Sea salt is actually a great conditioner for the skin and boosts conductivity.

  • @genellgoodman6230
    @genellgoodman6230 2 года назад

    would it be more effective to use a heating pad to heat up the skin to a high heat prior to using this machine to heat up your skin to increase the effectiveness? Also, what made you pick this machine over others within the same price point?

    • @TJTutorials
      @TJTutorials  2 года назад

      I prefer to allow the device to heat the skin as RF is designed to penetrate into the mid-layers of the skin and applying surface heat could give false readings of what's actually going on inside. I bought this machine when I was living in Portugal and it was on offer on Amazon.ES. I took a chance on it and it turned out to be an amazing buy. Of course, not everyone loves it, but for me it gets the job done and didn't break the bank.

      Hey Teri. First of all, happy birthday for tomorrow! 🎂🎈🎉🎊🪅 RF has been amazing for me and has really built up my collagen and elastin levels since I started using it. Peels are more for revealing fresher skin, so it's the uppermost layers. RF forces your body to create type 3 collagen, which is replaced by that much-wanted type 1 collagen over time. I love peel, but I use a combination approach that works from the inside and in the deepest layers to to most superficial ones. 🙂

    Hello TJ, thank you!This is exactly what I am looking for - to get control over the usage of the device and make sure I don't overheat my skin leading to fat loss. I was convinced by your latest videos and bought New Mini Hifu. Now when i watched this, I also want to buy a termometer, but I am not sure how can I use the same technique you used here when working with Mini Hifu radiofrequency? Can it be done? How do I measure the temperature if the HIfu is covering the skin area and onky for 4 seconds. Should I measure immediately after those 4 seconds when I remove the device from that skin are? I think the video about it would be sooo useful since most of your viewers are probably getting the mini hifu machine:))) and we are all having same concerns - wanting to tighten and want to prevent from losing fat. I think doing it with this termometer camera is an amazing solution that you invented!:) If it is too much hassle to do such video, would you be so kind explaining it to me: how to use this termometer camera with Mini HIFu RF modality to avoid fat loss + reach an effective temperature? Thaaaanks a lot, your videos are very informative and tackle crucial questions we consumers have:) XOXO;)

    I almost pulled the trigger on one of these home use devices until I read a few horrible stories. These are women who are older who don't have a lot of fat in their faces - rather longer, thinner faces but were wrinkled. They describe where what little fat they did have in their faces were removed and they wound up worse off because now their wrinkles were so much worse. Is there any work around to this? Is it because they were using the various machines too regularly? The before/afters look really great if the woman had a much fuller face - I'm not one of those people - I've got a thinner face - higher cheek bones.

    • @TJTutorials
      @TJTutorials  2 года назад +2

      Hi Sandy W. Overuse is definitely a huge risk for facial fat loss. The stories I've read online have been about professional machines used in clinic. These reach far higher temperatures, so the risk is there with them. I've been using RF for over two years now and have not experienced any fat loss, dropping or other issues. I think maybe they were the wrong candidates for the treatment and it exasperated their already lacking support and structure.
