Here's another thing I love about your videos: You never "hem and haw" at the beginning of your presentation like so some other do. You simply begin "Whether you use . . ." Its right to the point and does waste our time. Thank You

Agreed, it's so refreshing to hear what I need right away instead of hearing someone's lifestory for 10 mins

Just the tip I needed! My son has a stainless canteen with a teeny tiny mouth. I use a flexible bottle brush, but I just couldn't get it completely clean. I broke up the tablet, dropped it in, filled the canteen with hot water and let it sit for about 20 minutes. No smell and no residue. All the other water vessels in the house are getting the same treatment! Thanks!

I tried this method on 2 different stainless steel water bottles using the exact same tablets.
The end result for each were a success. Thanks for the tutorial. 3/7/21

    denture cleaner tablet Ingredients:
. sodium bicarbonate - or baking soda, which alkalizes the water, cleaning the dentures.
. citric acid - removes stains.
    . sodium perborate.
    . sodium polyphosphate.
. potassium monopersulfate - cleaning and bleaching agent.
    . EDTA.
    Thanks for the video

I kept trying to clean out a six year old steel water bottle. This trick definitely helped - no more disgusting manky smells and even the water tastes better.
I've been managing my new Klean Kanteen insulated with this method and it works well, even when I did drink tea or other things.
I think I'd try this method with my dad's manky thermos.

Frickin' GENIUS.... I have the exact same Nalgeen and 1 liter Platypus bottles and they both STINK.... I wash 'em, and air dry 'em... but they still have an 'after taste' of what they held before. I HAVE to try that.... I have to leave know 'cause I'm going over to steal my mothers denture tabs.... Thanks dude! I love the idea and vid..... (but maybe my Mother won't though...).

What I do is I just fill the bottle about one third with warm tap water, since it has quite a significant amount of chlorine for disinfection where I live, close it, shake it good for a minute and pour the water out. Here's the trick - I do it just before using the bottle, so I don't have to dry it and it stays fresh all day. By the next time I need to use the bottle, it begins to smell, naturally, but I just repeat the procedure.

Neat idea. I like using vinegar, bleach, and so on, but sometimes they need extra time or a little elbow grease or they just don't make it. Love your creativity. Even with inflation and such, we can still find some good deals and stretch or save money.

There's a secondary use for that water with the denture tabs after ur done cleaning the bottles; drink the solution and u will have a free colon cleanse or at the very least u will clean out ur stomach. BTW, this is a great video!! 👍

These tablets cost less than $2 a box, and the mint smell goes away with a good rinse.

    • @weekendwanderer5514

That's a strange one. Is it one of the older soft plastic ones? I think they had a tendency to smell over time. If the tablets don't work for you you may have to just go for a replacement.

How do I tell if my stainless steel bottle is food grade stainless steel? I found out that regular stainless steel will leech cadmium into your water

    • @weekendwanderer5514
      @weekendwanderer5514  5 лет назад

Good question. I don't know if there's any way to tell. It's better to buy a quality bottle from a trusted name brand manufacturer if you can. The cheaper imported ones from countries that don't have any quality control should always be suspect.
