Every game will die, eventually, it's just the truth, in 20 years there will probably a new minecraft-like game what those kid love. Games like minecraft will probably still get some players because of nostalgia, since it's an iconic game. But all together the game, along with alot of games (Fortnite, PUBG etc.) will die-out.

That Pokemon GO spike hit hard. My heart goes out to all the loyal fans who have been there since '98 but got screwed out of a good phone when everyone who spat on you suddenly started caring.
Not sure where the stats for league come from. When Riot announced that TFA had 80 million it was still less than half of leagues client base. Which are the only stats released from Riot in a VERY long time.

The problem is, people get bored of always doing the exact same thing, and you can only play "figure out who's lying" so many times before you're done. For a single summer some time around 2005 I think I was totally into WOW. I loved Sims 2 and 3 for a couple years. Just like a viking game similar to settlers I got as a freebie was my favorite game of all time for years. Now I like Minecraft. I tried Minecraft in 2011 and after a few weeks switched back to playing Sims. But now, in 2020, I only play Minecraft. Who knows. Maybe a friend of yours will (once again) get you to try playing minecraft because 'you have to see this update!' and then you'll discover that 'that's what was missing!' and start liking the game. For a game like Among Us, there's two huge things working against it. First, there's not a lot you need to look up for the game. Second, it's a fad game, it's player base will fill quickly, plateau, and then decay.
It's just the next Stick Fighter or Gang Beasts or Town of Salem or TTT - it's a chance for a bunch of people to get together and have some fun. The problem is, people get bored of always doing the exact same thing, and you can only play "figure out who's lying" so many times before you're done.
These kinds of games aren't bad games at all, but they are highly repetitive and that just doesn't lead to sustaining a player base.

"The Witcher" exploding in 2019 blew my mind and I realized it's the drama series. No way to really separate the drama series from the game since they share the same name so I can't really blame you for including it.

GTA San Andreas has remained as a solid game for years. Back in the days, it was the biggest hype you could imagine, pretty much like Skyrim did in 2011.

The hidden code was for a sex minigame that Rockstar put into the game but pulledas they were afraid it would effect their ESRB rating. But it was found anyways by the modders and the PC version of San Andreas became A rated. (Adults only)

@@bobREALOG I once loved a Barbie horse riding game with a passion (as a kid, obviously). Today I look at games like that and wonder why. Also, i was into BioShock at one point in time. For a single summer some time around 2005 I think I was totally into WOW. I loved Sims 2 and 3 for a couple years. Just like a viking game similar to settlers I got as a freebie was my favorite game of all time for years.
Now I like Minecraft. I tried Minecraft in 2011 and after a few weeks switched back to playing Sims. But now, in 2020, I only play Minecraft.
Who knows. Maybe a friend of yours will (once again) get you to try playing minecraft because 'you have to see this update!' and then you'll discover that 'that's what was missing!' and start liking the game.
When I look back I have to come to the conclusion that I should never say never. Who knows what you'll fall in love with next year or 10 years from now?
I like mincraft and all but Garry's mod does sandbox way better and other games like rust do survivel way better I just don't like minecraft

Massive cudos to Minecraft, WoW, and League for being the most consistent of the bunch. It's a massive leap between being popular and staying popular. No doubt their creators and communities played big roles in that.
