Surprised how Scooby-Doo became so popular much later in the early 80's rather in the late 60's when it first came out. I'm really proud of Scooby-doo that show means a lot to me and you can see over the decades how the art style progressed and changed with the times. (each style was so cool). The feature films and tv shows were very memorable even the live action movies with Freddy Prince Jr were so iconic and depicted the 2000's perfectly. I hope it never dies.
I don't believe this video is based on any real data about Scooby Doo, or any of these cartoons. It's just set up so that cartoons start out with a smaller viewership, and gain viewers over time at random. Which isn't even really how it works in the real world, a lot of the time. Like contrary to what this video claims, the Simpsons reached its peak viewership in the early 90s, and has been declining since. Yet this video claims seven times more people were watching the Simpsons in 2019 versus 1991. Same with Scooby, I'm sure viewership rises and falls with each new series, or as old series end. It doesn't just keep going up in a straight line forever

See that's the beauty of it. Unlike other cartoons where there are language barriers and characters tend to be rooted into local cultural zeitgeist... the fact that it's a common cat and mouse, with no dialogue and only hilarious action - is why it was accepted in all cultures. Tom and Jerry and Mr bean are truly artistic icons across all universes.

I''ve been addicted to watching these type of video charts lately. It's just fascinating and kind of like time travelling. Never knew how dominant Tom and Jerry was. However, there seems to be several cartoons missing from here. What about Garfield, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Animaniacs, Family Guy, King of the Hill, and how did TMNT not chart in the 80/90s? It seemed to only make appearance in the early 2000s.
I always ranked a couple cartoons as my personal favorites and objectively the best cartoons of all time that no one would disagree with. My top 10 in order- Tom and Jerry, Looney Tunes, Scooby-Doo, Dragon ball Z, SpongeBob, Avatar the Last Airbender, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Samurai Jack, Regular Show, and Adventure Time. I don't understand how in some cases this refers to a whole line of cartoons as a whole, but in others, like "Steamboat Willie", it only refers to one short. Doesn't quite add up to me.
Numbers are all made up. Gertie the Dinosaur appeared in one cartoon in 1914, she wasn't the most popular animated character of the 1940s. The audience for the Simpsons hasn't massively increased over the last 20 years as in video, it's fallen off drastically. If this was real, I assume Mickey Mouse would be at or near the top from the late 1920s to the 1950s at least

funny i had the same problem,i lived in russia back then and there wasnt tom and jerry on any channels but i did have a shit ton of vhs tapes of that cartoon so it was enough
It was common for neighborhood friends to frequently come in and out of your house. Then, they would spread the word to other kids.
Tom n Jerry's legacy was unbeatable because there was no language barrier...Enjoyable for people of ALL LANGUAGES..AROUND the world..🥳🥳

I don't understand how in some cases this refers to a whole line of cartoons as a whole, but in others, like "Steamboat Willie", it only refers to one short. Doesn't quite add up to me.
Numbers are all made up. Gertie the Dinosaur appeared in one cartoon in 1914, she wasn't the most popular animated character of the 1940s. The audience for the Simpsons hasn't massively increased over the last 20 years as in video, it's fallen off drastically. If this was real, I assume Mickey Mouse would be at or near the top from the late 1920s to the 1950s at least
