  • Today, I share my excitement as I see my Rio Grande tomato plants finally producing fruits. This is the first time I've ever grown tomatoes, and in such quantities so I'm really proud of how they're turning out. The fruits are a beautiful green-orange color, and they're starting to get bigger every day. I'm so excited to see how they taste when they're ripe!
With the rains, I can see clearly how the plants are aggressively growing bigger by the day. I also share some tips on how I've been caring for my tomato plants. I've been watering them regularly and fertilizing them every few weeks. Many have suggested staking the tomatoes, but this time I have not but planning to use a good mulch to support the low-lying fruits. With this, I am hoping to reduce the overall cost of selling by cutting out staking props and labor. I am hoping that the mulch will be able to support their weight as the fruits get bigger.
I hope you enjoy watching this video! If you're thinking about starting your own tomato garden, I encourage you to give it a try. It's a lot of fun, and it's really rewarding to see your plants produce fruits.
