      If you mean the metal mandrel that she is making the bead on, it is bead release. You dip the metal in the bead release and let it dry before making your bead. If you put the glass directly on the metal, it will stick and not come off. The bead release prevents the glass from sticking to the metal. You use the metal mandrels over and over again.
