So, I'm a nerd and decided to look at all these interconnected stories, especially the dark reflections that each of these videos seem to portray about our protagonist. I'm not saying that Jen intended this meaning, merely that I think that this may be an interesting way of interpreting all the different videos. I would love to hear what everyone else has to think. If my ideas are awful, hopefully they can at least be a jumping off points for other, better ideas. Additionally, keep in mind that I am the King of reading too much in to things. Here's the pitch: Each of the nightmares represents the fears that embody a stage of the protagonist's life. Our heroine seems to be in young adulthood in the opening video and the introduction to each nightmare, and thus none of the nightmares belong to her existential moment, but are part of her subconscious fears from her past or about the future. Fear is a part of the human experience. Arguably, it's the deepest, most basic form of what it means to be human. Fear of abandonment, social ostracization, a life wasted or the cunning call of the siren is what keeps us pushing forward. It defines our actions and shapes our personalities, but what forms those fears take give us a glimpse into what makes us human and what makes us unique. The doll represents the fears of childhood (sort of obvious that one, sorry). She's clearly the most juvenile nightmare we meet and has a lot of the same desires like friendship (ooooh a visitor) and having the same needs (the constant attention of winding her up) . We feel instant sympathy for her with her black eye (possible child abuse reference?) and her desire to be free. The cage she is placed is a two-fold symbol representing both safety from people who want to steal her and the confinement she so wants to escape from, asking you to purchase her over and over again. All of this is just speculation, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is how our protagonist may have felt as a child. Perhaps she was orphaned as a young age or put into the foster system. She may have been considered, or even have considered herself to be, damaged goods, but hoping for the love and care of a family and therefore doing her best to dress up and speak and persuade any possible "buyer" that happened to come by. Still, some psychological issues remain, the dead bat in the background and the references to secret revealing would seem to indicate a darker side. The Martian represents the fears of adolescence. There's less to work with on this one, but if we assume a childhood spent as an orphan or in a foster system. It would be an easy jump, i think, to feeling like an outsider. You might be insanely curious about the world around you, seeking to satiate the curiosity whenever possible, but a communicative wall would exist between you and other people. You'd have radically different experiences and might wonder if anyone would ever truly understand you. This seems to be the crux of the martian video. There's a curiosity about the protagonist as shown by the constant inspection, but communication is limited to a series of clicks and purrs that make no sense to the listener, but might be a genuine attempt at trying to reach out to someone for understanding. Whether this lines up exactly or not, I would argue that the fear of never being understood while trying to understand the world around you is a huge fear, at least for me. The scarecrow would then be the fears of adulthood. Specifically, I would argue that the scarecrow may represent the terrors of a life spent under the corporate yoke. We meet the scarecrow for the first time decades after she was first created, presumably through the same process that the protagonist finds herself undergoing, now. The scarecrow then went through years of hard, menial labor with no true passion or purpose, except that the job got done. The scarecrow also talks about how lucky she is to have found a replacement, which would seem to indicate that the old scarecrow is finally retiring, leaving the protagonist to do the dirty work. The existential fear of breaking your back in a career that was seemingly forced on you, only to train your replacement three decades later so you can take a break, seems like something the corporate world would appreciate. Finally, the siren. Death is the obvious answer, here. She lures sailors to their death She has a dead frog buddy. She makes teh protagonist drink poison. Specifically, though, I would argue that this is death by old age. Partially, it's the soothing way she slowly draws the protagonist into her web, but mostly, its that poison and the frog. The frog is stated to have drunk the poison as a young man looking for his love, who then underwent a change, namely slowly after years and years going from a human being into a frog, a form apparently chosen by the siren herself. She indicates that she could turn the protagonist into whatever she likes, and eventually lands on a human skeleton. Now, this is the stuff that keeps me up at night. There's very little scarier to me than becoming a prisoner in my own body. The poison freezes your movement as you slowly change into a withered old frog or a husk of a person until you finally shuffle off this mortal coil. The fear of slowly aging to death, unable to stop it or even slow it down, may be the single largest fear humanity has yet to discover. Okay, so I know I said finally in the last paragraph, but honestly, this ending video has something to say too. The scientist tells the protagonist that she's a failure for not figuring out what all these nightmares have in common, even poking fun at her for not noticing that all the dark reflections had the same ring on. The protagonist apparently witnessed all these nightmares from all of the different stages of her life, endured them, but didn't search for any deeper meaning, ultimately leading to the apocalypse a la Cabin in the Woods. If only the protagonist had taken a closer look at herself reflected in a mirror, darkly Cthulhu wouldn't be obliterating the human race right now. So, the moral of the story: The unexamined life is not worth living. That was super long. I don't blame you for not reading this whole thing. But if you did.... Kudos! I hope I gave you something to think about. Let me know what you think about it and as always. Thank to Jen, both for helping with my insomnia with her videos and contributing to it by being too interesting not to write an essay in the comments.

i remember 3 years ago when I was 13 I was struggling with really terrible social anxiety. Not really general anxiety but social anxiety. There was this girl named Rachael who I came close to best friends with in the years before. We had both very much liked eachother but at the beginning of my 8th grade year social anxiety came out of no where and it was horrible. I was barely able to talk to Rachael so my only choice was to avoid her. I was so sad inside and she thought I hated her but I didn’t at all. About a few weeks into the start of the school year I had to do a presentation. This combined with my anxiety was not good. Rachael was in all of my classes and as well the class I had to do the presentation in. I specially remember the day of the presentation. Rachael was in the back of the class but I saw her face and looked at her directly. I felt extremely nervous. I started the presentation and I was stuttering and shaking until I broke down in front of the class. I remember seeing her face and how sad she looked. That was arguably one of the worst days of my life. It took place on a Friday and I got sick that day. By the next day I was dead sick. I layed in bed all day that weekend, crying. it would take so much energy for me to get and walk around. Pretty much all throughout that weekend I watched your videos and it really helped. Since then a lot has happened. After that my anxiety got twice as bad and things between me and Rachael stayed the same. Over these past couple of years things haven’t gotten better. She eventually became anorexic and attempted suicide and since then she has refused to talk to me. We see each other quite a bit but we don’t talk at all. It makes so sad whenever I see her. People always say that these kinds of feelings pass but they haven’t for me. Sorry I kinda went on a rant that’s gotten a bit un related

From personal experience, the less you care about what others think and the more you act like your true self, which trust me, is usually bubbly and full of personality, the more people like minded people I’ll be drawn to you and want to associate with you. Oh my god this was a CABIN IN THE WOODS VIDEO SERIES THIS WHOLE TIME?
Didn't one of the writers of "Cabin in the Woods" do a TV show about some girl who slays vampires? I'm sure you're at least a little familiar with it...
All joking aside, you really busted your ass making content for the month of October, and the quantity of videos didn't affect the quality at all. Well done, you should be proud of yourself. Hope you don't experience too much burn out
Hoje eu vou dormir
