For anyone who doesnt kno this song is actually a mashup of two songs from the 1960s with dubbed guitar and vocals over it. The tracks are "keep on dancing" by ronnettes as the backing track and the vocal part is a spinoff of a live vocal performance of "be my baby" also by ronnettes both recorded by phil spector
I think a playlist is somewhat like a legacy, someday someone will bump into your channel or the comment and check your playlist, he's gonna have a chance to listen this song.
I and two other friends attended one of this guy presentations in Phoenix Arizona, probably 8 years ago. We talked with him before the start of the concert, he was a humble, cool and funny guy, I must say.
Exactly, I was raised old school and have a love for that "Gypse Cried" sound of Music and this guy gets it, he's giving us some great music but I have a feeling the best is yet to come.
I made this video years ago. Over a decade ago now. I was on tour with Alex and I played in a band called Makeout Videotape and during the tour and I filmed a lot off stuff using my old 2011 white MacBooks webcam. That’s how I filmed all of this stuff and I later spliced all the footage together. Sometimes I wish I got a bit of credit for this video because I remember working my ass off on it, but either way it’s cool people can still watch it.
Alex, come play at my venue in Duncan on Vancouver Island if ya get around to touring again. I know a lot of people who love your music in this area. I think I might have messaged you on bandcamp about a year ago.
This This reminds me of the sweetness of her smile The sweetness of her laugh The sweetness of the wind caressing my face The sweet innocence of love The joys that life brings to us everyday Spending my nights partying out there with my friends drinking smoking and screaming out loud of our lungs till we have no breath just to get out all the anger that the world has bring to us The cold and lonely nights And an old friend who didn’t say goodbye This song reminds me of the little things of life
i'll walk along these streets until i have you in my my arms now that you're gone my heart's so wild and blue and if i had a chance i'd never let you go to die in your heaven, oh my, i'm begging you please oh, true blue for you no matter how far the distance goes i just want you to know that my heart will always be true blue for you true blue for you
im amazed...i read on the magazine they were good, now its obvious, they're very good. lately music has been improving a lot...at least for me...because i listen to every type you can listen to...punk, rock, pop, soul, r&b, fado(portuguese), metal, and it goes on...and on... LOVE MUSIC :)
alex zhang hungtai has such a fuckin cool classic crooner's vibe that he embodies so perfectly, he just exudes that level of cool like Elvis and such, with a no wave flavour to it as well
he sounds like joy division, angelo badalamenti, velvet underground (i don't remeber in which song he used velvet underground's lyrics) and more. i love his inspirations.
is the first time in a long time Im enjoying the fact I broke up with my boyfriend and the feeling of it, thanks dirty beaches, Im in love with your song now
Don't know if is state wide but every Saturday from 7 to midnight a radio show called The Swing Years And Beyond plays music from the first half of the twenty century and definitely Dirty Beaches' album Badlands seems to be from that era.
Lo fi Ronettes backgroove mixed with maybe an andrew eldritch of sisters of mercy/elvis sounding vocals at times going into brian wilson/beach boys territory makes for one perfect song.
If you like this ditty you may really like anything by Silver Jews or Smog/Bill Callahan. Songwise “Godsend” by Beat Happening, “Our way to fall” by Yo la Tengo, “Heartbeats” by Jose Gonzalez, “Naked as we came” by Iron and Wine and “Sweet Shine” by Sonic Youth give me similar feels to name a few. Enjoy.
The Ronettes - Keep on Dancing The Ronettes - Be my Baby His amalgamation of both of these into his own track is great. Listen to the above tracks for a cool insight I guess.
@@Alexcalderam it is an amazing video indeed alex. i have one question though, what camera did u use to film DB playing? i love how the angle as well as how choppy the video is, reminds me of archival footage of shit id see in a documentary or something along those lines

this song is quite possibly my all time favorite song. it's like taking a bath in melancholy and spring reverb.
this song doesn't attract as much attention as it should, but i'm happy to be one of the few who know of and love it

I need a 20 hours video of this song
This song is just a combination of The Ronnettes' "Keep On Dancing" and "Be My Baby"
Good shout, so it is.
sampling of a forgotten era, my friend
Fuchk Geemale clearly not forgotten.
Japanese Shoegaze Godamn, all I along I thought he legitimately revived the ghost of 1950's rock.
"just" ??
I LOVE SO MUCH. THANKS
Song of the year.
i wish he had more songs that were sentimental like this...anyone out there know any?
Sentimental? For this feels like depression and I got a lot of those lmao
