I finally get started on the wildlife opening in the beech woods. We have a nice hunting shack here on a short platform and I built a small water hole last year. This opening will let grasses and forbs and small trees flourish in here and create a perfect spot for wildlife to enjoy. It also doubles as a firewood access for a large dead ash tree that we want to harvest.

When I built my small pond last year ( I am in eastern upstate NY) I put a game cam out. YUP...have deer, racoons, rabbits, ducks, a bobcat, fox, blue heron which eats all the frogs, turtles, coyote's and woodchucks. I don't hunt anymore so nice to see. Hoping for some minnows to show up but it does drop a bit in the summer. Its ground fed so....
Sounds great. I was up in the Adirondacks years ago hunting.
I built one in the shady corner of my field also that I would like to expand.
