- Meemie answers me in grumbles as I chat with her. She's such a beautiful girl.
She was sent to us by a wildlife rehabilitator who determined that she was un-releasable and needed a forever home at a Sanctuary. That is our mission as a non-profit organization. We never buy, breed, or sell animals. We just provide forever home and care for wild cats.
I used to work at a satellite earth station in the Santa Monica Mtns years ago. We had pumas and bobcats galore up there. There was one who used to sit and wait for me on weekends when I had the duty, and I'd give him a bowl of kibble as a treat. I had an 8 ft chain link fence between him and me, but he always behaved himself nicely when I was around. I called him Rocky, and he'd come up when I'd call for him to get his snack. He was a gorgeous cat, like this one. I watched him grow up to be a big cat. Broke my heart when they laid off most of the crew, including me. The guys left there said he came looking for me for awhile, then finally moved on.

Was wondering the same. The kitty growls a lot at a low level. When my house cat does this, he's not usually happy about everything. Trouble is, finding out what he's irritated about before he takes a swipe at me. He's slow as molasses, whereas the Bobcat is probably blindingly fast. Thanks for posting.

Idk my grandma had a bobcat as a pet back in the day and they really loved him. He was called "stubby" because of his stubbed tail lol

We just took some great videos of 2 Bobcats casually walking around our pool deck. They looked healthy and they didn't seem to fear us. They are beautiful cats and I am amazed by them.

There's nothing so beautiful as the big cats. I've always been partial to them.
One summer night back in late July of 1975 one of my younger brothers and I had gone to my parents summer home on Mon Louis Island, Ala. The house fronted on Mobile Bay and was on a piece of property of 11 acres. About 1 acre was taken up by the house and tended trimmed yard and flower garden and sparse larger trees. The rest was second growth dense vine tangled semi tropical maritime rain forest. The adjacent properties were similar with thousands of acres of undeveloped brush and woodlands. One particular night we had gone night fishing and got back ashore after midnight. After cleaning our catch and refrigerating it we baited some crab traps and lowered them into the bay and began finishing up for the night. There was a storm flashing out over the bay and thunder was drawing closer. He put the windows up in his car as a precaution and turned in. The next morning as the coffee was brewing he went out to his car to get a pack of smokes. In those days coffee and a cigarette started the day. He opened the driver's door and started reaching in when he hollered and jumped backwards, stumbled and fell on the ground. I got up and started outside asking him what was going on. Still sitting on the ground be pointed at the car and said take a look. I walked over bent slightly about to grab the door handle when a bobcat hit the window snarling. Apparently it had gotten in the previous evening due to the approaching storm as it had been raining more than normal for a few days and I guess the cat figured it was safe shelter. I think scraps we had been leaving out for a racoon also might have been part of it. Anyway he was afraid to open the door so I told him to get out of the way so I could run if need be or at least have room to move. I threw the door open, got away as quick as I could and the cat jumped out stood there looking at me, ran about 50 ft. stopped again and turned and looked at me again and studied me for a short while then trotted off. It was a beautiful animal and I wished him well and a long life.
