Waiting for sales has in my experience eliminates paying the premium for some features like chrome lining and CHF. But for the starkly different barrels that my own testing indicates are actually superior (like Noveske and Black Hole Weaponry), the extra cost is unavoidable. And if the absolute best accuracy is what you demand, you do have to pay up. 1.25 MOA is achievable all day in a lightly accurized PSA upper. But if you need better, even if it's only 3/4 MOA, expect to pay 5x more than the budget option for the whole setup.

Personally if I’m going for a premium barrel I’d rather have WOA, Criterion, or Bartlein
Personally I’ve never seen a noveske live up to the name and cost versus their contemporarys

Thank you for being one of the few RUclipsrs who give an objective opinion to let the consumer make their own choice.
Of course there are always cases when being objective can lead you to tell people to steer clear of certain items, but this is not one of those cases.
Have you considered diving more into 300blk? If so we would love to work with you on a lot of the testing we are currently performing on our end.
Definitely shoot us an email on our website if you are interested!

I got 4 AR15's all have different barrels the best one will shoot almost anything under a inch it's made by les bear number 2 is a JT and then Ballistic advantage. All 3 will do under an inch. And then my Anderson is about an inch and a 1/2. And that's with hand loads i could get the anderson under a inch i think. i have tried about 7 different weights and powders i will probably change the barrel before i find a load. I grew up doing precision shooting so. If it won't shoot under an inch It either gets fixed sold or put away never to be seen again.

Dwell time is a measurement of time it takes the projectile to exit the muzzle after it passes the gas port. Given two identical length barrels, 16 inches in this case, and given that an intermediate gas length system is longer than mid, it is safe to assume that the dwell time on an intermediate barrel would be shorter?

I've heard those Hodge claims too but the one time I saw one chrono'd(by someone who claimed exceptional velocities) it hit velocities that were completely normal for the length of barrel it was(12.5) w/factory 77gr. They're accurate, well gassed barrels, no doubt about that. But man, there is a lot of lore surrounding them and tbh some of it just ain't true.

      @@Recce_randy that’s fair.
The other thing to consider and i think you touched on it some, what is your accuracy requirement for what you plan to shoot ? Does your cone of fire exceed the smallest targets you intend to shoot? If the rosco meets that requirement great. Save the money. If youre trying to hit a 1 MOA target at a given distance, for example a 6” head plate at 500-600 yards, then the need for the better barrel is there.
