Civilian using a Ronin Tactics Shuto Belt, True North modular holster adapter, ifak, dump pouch, 2 rifle and 2 pistol mag pouches on left side, 1 rifle mag pouch on right side behind holster. Love all your vids, thanks for your tireless efforts for the community!
Civilian here. I use a Ferro Bison Belt. Stupid light, stupid rigid, and stupid expensive. I don't regret it, but there's definitely cheaper options. The one thing I wish I knew was the value in having multiple inner belts. A wide padded inner is gold for over clothes, a 2" inner is gold for BDU's, and the normal 1.75" inner belt is going to tear up your pants from exposed hook. But I tell all my buddies that the first kit they need to get is a belt kit. Chest rigs are super important, but a belt is #1 priority
I too have the Ferro Bison Belt, I stopped using the inner belts though. Strongly recommend getting Qore Performances ice vent padding system for your belt, & using a riggers belt from LBT as your daily use belt. That way you’ll have a small, thin, lightweight padded molle/ tactical belt VS a big thick war belt. You can just throw it on when you have to use it with ease of trying to get the positioning “just right”. To conclude the paragraph, you’ll basically have the best of both worlds.
@Jkp1321 I agree with that. You get a lot more out of a chest rig. But when you have friends who are 1) less "radical" than you or 2) not prior military/LE it is less of a mind game for them to buy a belt than a chest rig. I've noticed most of my friends get weirded out about actual kit. But competition guys use belts, so they don't have as big a deal rationalizing that one. Once they get belts, they all end up getting the bug for gear, and now only a couple don't have chest rigs still.
I run the kore battle belt. I've abused that thing for a few years now. I love the adjustability. Had a blue alpha gear before and I just didn't care for it. Custom made retention holster for a cz p01 with a light. Super stiff and durable belt. I've gone through a lot of variations with pouch setup. Finally landed on what I like. Don't be afraid to get creative.
Great summery. Only thing I have different is, I have and still have a Personal Retention Lanyard on my belt. Used to use it for Helo OPS but now I still have it on just in case. I can always lock into a tiedown spot in a truck bed or back of an ATV. I have it folded on on the back of my belt with a little Velcro strap.
For a fixed blade knife, for that sticky/stabby get off me thing, I recommend the CRKT Hissatsu or the HZ6. I believe that Cold Steel still makes the Recon Scout which is a good crossover Fighting / Survival knife.
I ordered the defense mechanism MECH belt bundle from apex armor solutions for 315 with ship that comes with everything dump pouch, rifle pouch, pistol pouch ETC so many people recommend it so figured why not also comes in gods plaid “M81 woodland” so yeah got that On the way!
Whether it's a chest rig, plate carrier, or belt kit, I almost always run an inexpensive (sub $35) clone of the Benchmade SOCP dagger on the rig. Mainly because in this use, it's a pig sticker meant for getting someone off me. I'm not concerned with edge retention on a blade like that. Just a handheld spike to get someone out of my space. There are more quality versions of the dagger, but you don't need much. I like pointy blades in very quick access on my rig.
Oh! And I'm one of the Poors, so I have a Krydex Belt, Chest Rig, and I can take the chest rig and mount it on my Krydex plate carrier. The modularity for sure helps with my training, and perfect for a "weekend warrior" like myself. That belt retention clamp looks pretty slick! Might need to get one for myself! Cheers!
@@deangullberry5148 don't waste your time or your money. Get the real deal. Somebody ordered a krydex belt for me by mistake and it was straight up trash. The inner belt was floppy and made from the cheapest webbing you find at places like hobby lobby. I returned it and ordered a battle belt lite from Blue Alpha. The inner is rigid and i wear it as an EDC carry belt. The outer is adjustable on both sides, super light and super rigid. Great deal for $150. Don't waste your time on toys. If you're getting this stuff for a serious reason, be serious about it.
I’ve used my UAB for duty for about 2yrs now and I’ve found out if you weave your excess through the metal part of the flap retainer it’ll never come loose. The only time I have to adjust it is when I’m losing or gaining weight.
I run a ferro concepts. Slim and light. 2 pistol mags, 1 rifle mag, multitool, BFG ifak and micro dump pouch, safariland holster on a UBL mid with a thigh strap, and a tourniquet. Pretty standard. Works for me play fighting on the range.

So somehow I was unsubscribed and just found this out tonight love everything you guys do!!! I run a blue alpha gear two piece belt with esstac pouches. One thing I'm not a fan of is that the Velcro inner belt gets worn out from taking the outer belt off and on.
I was able to put a really basic belt together with a Blackhawk inner/outer belt ($50 on sale (real Cobra buckle)), Blackhawk Omnivore holster ($30 on sale and by far the most budget lvl 2 holster), Blackhawk double pistol mag pouch ($13), random kydex AR15 mag holder with a teklok clip from a dude on eBay for like $20, and a used Wilderness Tactical dump pouch off eBay for around $10. My only tactical splurge was on a Soileater TQ pouch. The basic point here being that if you go "old school" with a belt that doesn't have any webbing or special attachment system on it you save a lot of money. Good ole "slide on" or clip on type stuff.
I went heavy on the belt, really happy with it. IFAK centered on the back, two-one quart canteens/canteen pouches with a steel canteen cup in one (electrical tape in one of the pockets). TWO Platatac Billy pouches at 9 o’clock and 3 o’clock. 2 emergency reloads at 9 o’clock, TQ and Glock 19 at 3 o’clock. 9 o’clock pouch holds spare batteries, water filter/pouch/purification tablets, triangular bandage and a cut down VS17 panel. Right pouch holds multi tool, weapons cleaning kit, broken shell extractor, and padded PVS14 pouch. Put it all on an HSGI Duty-Grip padded belt. Rides well, and I have a nearly identical kit on an HSGI Sure Grip belt with an H Harness that also holds a 3 quart bladder.
I used HSGI belts, and am really happy to see them get some love. I had a Suregrip overseas, and a Duty Grip as my stateside rig. I wish they got more recognition.
@@Jkp1321 Depends on how he has it set up. Sometimes there’s really no distinction between the two. It doesn’t really matter. The definition for war belt is kinda grey anyways. My HSGI belt also had suspenders, but changed a lot during my time overseas. Sometimes it looked very low drag and was meant for DA. Sometimes it was more of what you would consider a jungle rig.

@@birdiefps4390 You will need food and water in the field way before a plate carrier, or some high speed belt. This is just marketing for overpriced gear.
A gun belt is first line gear. It should prioritize Personal defense, navigation, and emergency medical needs. I agree on water, these types of things should have at least some water.
Y’all can laugh or whatever but it’s what I could afford. I have a Tacticon Armorment belt with 2 pistol and 1 rifle pouches, dump pouch, ifak and knife. All but knife is Tacticon and it just works and decent quality and honestly it’s pretty damn solid so far. Does everything I need it to do and it’s affordable. Same with my plate carrier and plates.
