Thanks so much for showing this option! I was too afraid to remove tile I didn’t like, but painted it white using all the materials and instruction in this video, and it’s almost perfect. :)
Regardless of what other commenters are saying thinking they’re multi millionaires in the real estate business, I like it and think you guys did a great job!
I’m only just into the start of this video and am so grateful to see a real “designed for the purpose” product! I’ve just come from browsing a few other you tube videos seeing people use basically whatever but instinctively I knew there had to be a REAL way to do it ... too many clever diyer engineering types out there not to be
Have you painted your backslash using the materials I this video? If so, let me know how it turned out! I'm planning on doing mine.
News flash people! She does not care whether or not you like it! It is HER kitchen and she loves it! That is the only opinion that counts!
news flash! you won't change their minds
@@natalieisagirlnow News flash, you are absolutely Fucking correct!
You misunderstand. We don't care what they think if they like or not.
Who cares are those having to buy & strip that crap when she gets bored & wants to sell her house.
You see crap like that & wonder what else the previous owners screwed up.
@@MeanOldLady umm she went from turd colored brick to neutral white... if anything, she made her house more appealing to a wider audience of buyers
Planning on doing this today! Can’t go wrong with classic white tiles in kitchen to really neutralize a space.
Did you succeed?
BTW mommy I suggest watch a 13 part series called _What on earth happened_ by Ewaranon to learn that the earth is not a globe. Link in my about tab.
Looks so much better! That old backsplash didn't go with the rest of the kitchen. Nice job! I'm wondering if it's possible to add a tint to that epoxy? I'm guessing you could...
Wow! You are doing more prep work than I ever would have done. LOL!!! 😂
Looks amazing and a lot brighter. Personally I think you should change the hardware on the cabinets to something black and a bit more modern and then get a darker flooring to compliment the lighter tiles and cabinets. Looks good though!
I was looking at painting my tile floors before I saw this....maybe she can paint those as well and black handles!
I have some accent tiles on my backsplash. If I use this kit, would I be able to paint those accent tiles gold? If so, how would you recommend going about that?
Thank you for the video, do you think it would hold up on a kitchen floor?
It looks awesome. I'm gonna do this for sure ! I HATE our backsplash
I love the white looks fresh and clean.
Kevin on the job! Yeah buddy. Nice job I think, looks good and the homeowner likes it.
Love the White!
Even the people are too white, this video is too white
Amazing guy explained so well great job! ❤
Absolutely gorgeous!!!! I love it so much! Thanks for the video ❤️
Sylvia Cox totally agree with you
try it
i don't think it will last 6 months
that is a fantastic look! Easy project for a completely fresh new kitchen feel, awesome job Kev!
Is primer needed? Or is the primer already in the paint mix?
It’s nice they let Kevin out of the house every now and then. Lol, nice work!
Because he doesn’t know any trades besides talking...
Will this work on a marble countertop?
Are the steps the same with a terrazzo tile?
What season/episode is this?!?!?! Needing to find the entire episode.
Did this myself, same exact thing. Beware of fumes! Looks awesome when u do it, but dang, have lots of fans
Yeah you needed a respirator mask .
@@leelastoma5809 no you don't. I do this all the time.
@@marikiemarie7622 ok no problem don't wear a mask and continue to get brain and lung damage . Not my problem. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Could this white paint be painted over? This would serve as a primer for a different color.
Ignore the haters. Light gray or a blue would have looked good also, but the white really expanded the kitchen. Good job.
I’m going to try it but I’m going to use behr paint.
Could you use epoxy seal white paint? No mixing.
I heard him say a calcium rust cleaner. I was wondering if you could use clr or would rhat effect the grout
Yeah I don't think that step was necessary total over kill breaks down grout. I would just degrease. Sand and wipe down again with alcohol.
I think it Was CLR
That made a huge difference!
Its looks pretty.
The before wasn’t awful, but the white does look a lot better!
What if you dont want to paint the grout and just the tile only I guess just use a roller instead?
I’m glad she painted the terra-cotta white. Terra-cotta is quite orange in color.
great video! Saw other people on youtube and they did not sand.. I feel better following the steps of the pros! XD
Can you get the kit in other colors besides white?
I noticed the product they used is also offered in another color called Coastal Fog.
BTW Darci I suggest watch a 13 part series called _What on earth happened_ by Ewaranon to learn that the earth is not a globe. Link in my about tab.
She reminds me of meg from
Family guy
Bryan Gomez shut up Meg.
so right
h.ah.ha.ah.ahahaa,h
😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Also instead of sandpaper could you use an actual product deglosser?
Can you tint the epoxy?
Paint out the green above your cupboards and it will make your ceiling feel taller; it will lift the eye upwards for a more expansive feel!
I appreciate that the video gave a great explanation in a timely manner, but this has sold me on peel and stick. I can't do all of those steps.
Does the tub and tile paint come in different colors? If not , Is it safe to get color added to the white? I’m going for a grey color
I saw the product they used also offered in another color called Coastal Fog.
BTW Danita I suggest watch a 13 part series called _What on earth happened_ by Ewaranon to learn that the earth is not a globe. Link in my about tab.
I did this for my bathroom and it worked very well. However, I want the tiles in my kitchen to have color, not just be white. My backsplash is already white and I'd like to make it blue to match the rest of the kitchen. Can I change the color with mica powders?
When you did your bathroom, do you feel like it was easy to peel off? Or get scratched? Whoever built my home, used large floor tiles for the counters, and it looks ok, but to make it a new color would look amazing. Just scared it would start to scratch and peel. Thank you
Can this kit be used on tile around a fireplace?
Can the same be done with floor tiles?
Can you grout over this paint? If I wanted a different color grout than white
What are the A and The B that mix together... paint and primer?
Paint and the epoxy activator
Looks good. Wonder why they have black appliances though.
Is there a similar solution for glass style tiles??
Hi Tony, did you ever get a response to your question? I have glass tiles as well and wanting to paint them.
@@Bejoyful2day no response and I haven’t found anything online on going about it either
Well the product they used in the video is advertised for use on porcelain and ceramic tiles so I believe it is compatible with that since tiles can also be glazed, coated with glass.
BTW Tony I suggest watch a 13 part series called _What on earth happened_ by Ewaranon to learn that the earth is not a globe. Link in my about tab.
Can you paint plastic tile panels with this product?
Hello DIYers, will these materials work with glass tile as well?
Hi, the product they used in this video is advertised for use on porcelain and ceramic tile so I believe yes.

No
Nice update! That's some weird counter top granite though. Tiles?
This was common in The States late 90's through early 2000's as an inexpensive alternative to a granite slab. I installed loads of them. The tiles were off the shelf and a cost of only a few dollars per square foot. They even stocked bullnose edge options. Her floor tiles seem to indicate an early 2000's remodel as well.
The brick looked good in my opinion
Another question. Since you are etching, and then sanding the entire backsplash, wouldnt you be able to use regular paint as well, now that the surface is etched and can accept paint?
Great question... never answered though
I used latex at another home we have and it lasted 10 years (til we moved) with no issues! Honestly, it didn't even prep it. It looked great.
I just watched this because it's satisfying 😆😆😆
Can I do my granite countertops with this paint kit? I hate the color they are now
What safe product should i use to paint my counter top?
NO way, the whole counter top is going to scratch and you will be sorry.
I am going to try Epoxy on mine
so the only choice is white or can this product be tinted other colors?
I looked into this myself recently, it can't be dyed but it's available in white, almond, and biscuit.
Brad the Pitts and I think maybe black too
Love the white!!!
I like a white kitchen. It makes it look bigger. For my own tastes, I would have painted it a different color, but something with a lighter shade....maybe something like light gray. But this is her kitchen.....if she wants all white, then it looks great.
The whole room brightened up
is the paint tintable??
I think it comes in different colors
Hello, can this paint be used on a high gloss subway tile?
Hi, the Rust-Oleum product they used is advertised for porcelain and ceramic tile so I believe yes.
BTW jennifer I suggest watch a 13 part series called _What on earth happened_ by Ewaranon to learn that the earth is not a globe. Link in my about tab.
So what exactly do you guys do to fill up the time in between? Like waiting for the first coat to dry for an hour?
Shag
@@webdev217 lol
🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤣🤣🤣🤣
Replacing the old outlets and covers would have coat maybe $6 and made it look 100% better.
Was my first thought when he held it up saying let it dry.... 🙂
Makes a big improvement in the look of kitchen. At least from far away.
Would this work on countertop tile too? My tile goes from the backsplash to the actual countertop. It’s all one
Yes
Hello. Can someone tell me if i can paint over my terracota floor ?
Somebody could help me? I want to do the same but with a light gray color. What tile paint do you recommend that have light gray?
Good tip Kevin!
Wow / Excellent • Cheers from The Detroit & Mackinac Railway 🚂
Fabulous
Can this be tinted at a paint store or does this come in different colors? After all,Rustoleum is a paint company...
Rustoleum does not allow their paint to be tinted. You have to do it yourself, unfortunately.
Looks awesome!
Look good
The white isn’t that bad, but I definitely prefer the before.
the terra-cotta was real and the paint is fake
Could you grout over that paint or will the grout just eventually break down? I think adding a dark grout to that white it'd pop a bit more.
you could use a grout saw and remove it and regrout, but you can't over top it. it would flake off almost immediately
You can not grout over the epoxy paint. It won't stick. You could paint the grout lines but I'd sooner stick my eye with a hot needle.
@@WhatIsKenDoing lol thanks for the info.
@@WhatIsKenDoing please don't, though.
Wow! This looks so good! Lots of work.
You should use a respirator when using that stuff. It contains a large amount of VOC and can cause health issues. It nearly knocked me out when I was repainting my shower. That smell is no joke.
Couldn't possibly be because you were in a small, enclosed space could it? That's why they had two fans and all of the windows open. The only respirator that would work with epoxy would be one rated for organic vapor compounds.
@@buckhorncortez actually my master restroom is about 300 s.f. with three large sliding windows. They were all open with three box fans pushing out but the smell of this product is toxic. The smelled lingered for about 3 weeks. I also used a 3m respiratory with VOC filter part 60921 or something like that.
Yes it's strong. I used it about 10 years ago on the shower and I remember it was not easy to work with the vapors.
They definitely didn’t do justice to the smell. You can feel the vapors floating in the air on your skin
Great content looks like a great product.
called me crazy, but I like the before then the afterwards
can you regrout painted tile? Why not start with removing the grout, then paint, then regrout?
that's dumb.
4:54 on the edge has me nervous, I hope they saw that and painted it.
I think the terra cota color looked better with all the white cabinets it was a good contrast. To each their own. Kev did you get the number at least?
What about getting grease from the stove on it?
Seal it with caulk? Silicone you mean?
Htsofbrudo Delmundo it’s the same thing. Silicone or acrylic caulk.
Much better.
Why do the counters have grooves cut into them? I've never seen counters with those random, symmetrical cuts. It's not near the sink for draining....it's almost like it's decorative. I've been house hunting online because we are thinking of moving, and I've seen a couple other houses with these exact same color counters and they too had the grooves or cuts in them. What material is that, and what is the purpose? If it's merely decorative, it's isn't all that appealing.
Their countertops are tile as well. The 'grooves' are grout lines. It's a cheap way of doing countertops, but you're right...not very appealing.
GOOD JOB
How do you clean that?
MG Kelly it’s gloss... wipe it with a damp/wet rag or a sponge. Not being rude, but It’s honestly not rocket science, hun.
I have a strip of glass tile that I want to paint over in white as well. Will this same epoxy paint mix cover both subway tile & the glass area? Also, how can I know the best roller to buy, since people are complaining the paint rips the roller apart?
Is there a specific brand of roller and brush for this difficult paint?
Neither of you have masks or any breathing protection. How did you mange painting 2 coats with no proction.
Nobody can get N-95 masks or any respirator during COVID.
I'm not an expert but the product they used is advertised for use on porcelain and ceramic tile; and tiles can be glazed with glass, so I believe that means it will work for your tiles too.
For the fumes you should use a respirator with organic vapor filters.
BTW Kristine I suggest watch a 13 part series called _What on earth happened_ by Ewaranon to learn that the earth is not a globe. Link in my about tab.
@@flat-earther My kitchen has already been redone. It’s a moot issue at this date.
My countertops have water damage how to fix them I don’t want to spent money on remolding my kitchen
Can I use this on kitchen tiles that have a painted floral design on them? I REALLY want to cover those!
Yep, I’m currently doing it. I’d suggest a coat of primer first
Please help I want to paint my kitchen countertop tile it’s been about 20 years old and I need a new life I can’t afford to put in a new countertop I’m hoping I can paint it and bring a new life to it please
Can you scrub that? He didn't mention.
NoDramaQueens it’s epoxy, so I believe so. Epoxy is a resin so it shouldn’t go anywhere I mean you might not wanna take steel wool to it lol but you know a dish sponge or damp rag should clean it just fine, especially if you don’t let food & grease soak on & dry to within an inch of fossilization, you should be just fine. 😂 They have a lady on here who refinished an old bathtub with this product & she uploaded a follow up after a year or so, and it looked exactly the same, (I.e. brand new). And a bathtub is always wet, but it never changed at all. Pretty darn amazing. This stuff seems extremely durable.
Is she okay?
Lmao at the beginning when that guy was turned around I thought it was Gordon Ramsay
Should have distressed the brick. Too much white.
Please test your tiles for lead before sanding -- most ceramic tiles have it in the glaze. You do not want to be sanding lead glaze all over your kitchen, esp if you have kids. Also, best to wear a respirator while using epoxy, especially indoors -- the fumes are toxic and likely carcinogenic.
Personally, I liked it better before. Now it's just a wall of white from floor to ceiling.
Aelanna64 I think her cabinets were the thing that was outdated.
And cheap looking...With the right updated cabinets and colours, that tile would look amazing.
I agree. It is an impressive transition but I agree the contrast was more exciting. White balls, black applicants reminds me of every rental home I’ve ever had
I thought so too the white cabinets and the terra cota gave it contrast. Now that tiles are white she should paint the cabinets a light grey or something. A soft earth tone would look good.
Ford Mustang One color top to bottom is old and boring. Most of the comments on this topic would appear to agree.
Need a white fridge
Mmm lovely
