I was there until the very end of the game, along with my wife and about 8,000 other cold, wet, drunk and crazy fans. I kept asking others around me who were leaving at the end of the third quarter to at least stay because they have a long drive home and nothing to lose, but they simply walked away from the greatest comeback in UH bowl history. Never quit on the Coogs, they certainly didn't quit on us that day!
I was at the taxslayer bowl in Jacksonville to see my Tennessee vols in action. I went to get a drink, and Houston was down big time. Got home and found out the they came back and won the game. INSANE.
I am a 2017 grad of UH and my dad is an alum of Tennessee (84). We were at this game and we were fixing to leave to go to a bar to watch Tennessee vs Iowa and dad said "If we don't get this inside kick then we'll head out". Needless to say we missed the first half of UT v Iowa! Go Coogs! GBO!
As a long-time UH fan, I vividly recall watching this unfathomable comeback. I nearly changed the channel, but some divine force must have prevented me from doing so.Trailing 31-6 with under 11 minutes remaining, the Cougars were dead. With under 4 minutes left, UH was still down 34-13, and things were totally decided. There was zero chance of scoring 22 straight points in that amount of time...but then the finger of God pointed to the Houston sideline.
I was there untill the very end along with about 8,000 other fans but even thou there was hardly anyone there it got super loud! The hype was awesome! Also got to meet with Greg Ward at the end and told him okorn has no change to start now. Which is true because he's transferring unless Herman really wants him and convince him to stay now that he's done and probably already in Houston
I remember watching this at my cousin's house. My cousin is an A&M fan, so he didn't care about who won. But after every touchdown I went bonkers. Crazy game
EAT EM UP COOOOOOGS. Also, c'mon Houston fans, half of you cleared out by the end of the 4th quarter. I'm glad I stayed til the end, crazy atmosphere for such a small bowl.
I swear I was one of maybe 100 fans that actually stayed and got to witness this absolute miracle in person. We were the happiest soaking wet and freezing cold group of people I’ve ever seen. I’ll never forget this game.
They scored 29 points in the 4th , not 25! They started with 6, ended with 35. Panthers scored a field goal so if you were going by the spread, it changed -3 in the panthers favor during the 4th and they still won by 1. Most amazing comeback ever
Got to be there with the marching band! You bet most of us had given up on a win by the beginning of the fourth. But wow that was something else. A feeling like no other. And to make it more awesome, that sets us up for a bright future next year. With Herman in the national championship, and these veterans on the team with some serious talent. GO COOGS.
The Coogs got badly skunked on opening day of this year, only to win in this fashion on the last game!!?? CRAZY!! Plus new coach coming in this year. Things are looking up for the Coogs!!
We watched the first 3 quarters at a sports bar, my dads friend is a UH alum and he was pissed so he left early. We stayed and got to see the comeback unfold, he called us and was happy about the win but still pissed about giving up on it and missing the comeback 🤣
This was a G5 vs a P5 AAC vs the ACC. I had left to go eat figuring the Coogs were done. I know if any team has the offense to come back it's UH. Needless to say I was upset that I had turned the game off before the end. UH is hell for those P5 teams.
The Houston Cougars were - and still are - a borderline ‘Power’ team, in a borderline ‘Power’ conference. The difference is often negligible, especially versus the A.C.C. and other regionally-close conferences, such as Texas-area A.A.C. teams who play Big XII teams in the southwestern United States.
For those who have never followed Houston football. They have had some incredible games through the years. You never know what they can do. Long history of great offense and not so good defense. They play like a team possessed against top 5 schools then blow games against the worst of teams. You never know what to expect. They have beat 7 top 5 teams in the last 3 seasons and lost to teams like Connecticut who had really bad teams. Their offense is usually in the top 10 in scoring and yards gained but their defense is just the opposite. Exception was 2016 when they went 13-1 beating Florida State in the Peach Bowl. Who was the only team to beat them that year. Connecticut ! Figure that out. Then they win games like this one. You just never know what they will do. Hopefully new coaches will change all that.
Typical Pitt blowing this one. It was good riddance to Paul Chryst, who had already left for Wisconsin, and his staff, who filled in for this game. Let's put linebackers on the hands team on onside kicks. WTF?

This was one of the greatest comebacks in college football history
as good of a comeback as ive ever seen

One of the most exciting and dramatic games I have ever witnessed! Go Coogs!

Came back to remember. GO COOOOOOOOGS

It was freezing cold and raining the whole game, but it was still the best game I’ve ever been to! GO COOGS

Awesome game! Great heart and effort by the Coogs! Awesome win baby! Go Coogs!

As a wvu fan it felt like life was complete after this game😂😂
13-9 baby.... kept your couch burning buddies out of the national title game. just remember that. Always.
King of comebacks! #COOGSHOUSE
CRAZY!
Even if Houston had failed on the 2-point conversion, they would have won anyway by recovering a third onside kick!
It seemed as if some greater force was making the point that it's not over until it's over.
Great game
I was out shopping and listening to this game on my SiriusXM. Every time there was a score, I just said, "WTF?!?"
I can't believe this was 9 years ago.... I feel old now lol

And now we're 5-0 :)

Unless you're a Pitt fan, this is fun to watch.
Wow! Go Coogs!
LETS GO COOGS!
I saw this live
+Ian Burke Indeed
This is how my team came back and beat north shore 27-26
Big whoooo????
It was 29 points, not 25...
They scored 29 pts in the 4th Q, but the margin that they had to overcome was 25 (they had been down 31-6).
go coogs

Really?!
what a shame Pittsburgh
Fail To Pitt
Don't like UH as a school... but being a houston team, this makes me happy!
Watching Pitt fail is fun. Ha ha ha.
