It reminds me of using Coles & other participating stores' self service portals. Which I've found as I got used to it, similar to the QLD containers for change return with Tomra machines. But I always prefer "DIY shopping" & self service as opposed to depots for return & earn options.

hi, i am from germany and we are used to this kind of machines.. to answer your question, if you put an not refundable bottle in it, it will simply deny it and you have to remove it.

In my experience,it shows on the screen "item not accepted" & won't slide through the conveyor belt & down into the machine. Then you need to remove the bottle or can & take it with you to try at the depot to them to put it through with any other damaged &/or broken containers the machine won't take. Why don't the machines take ice tea bottles? And other types of plastic bottles that have a barcode? Not sure if I pay bottle return on my ice tea and other Plastic bottles!😐😕

No,not when you put them through the containers for change machine. The depots ask you to remove the lids
