John, this has been my favorite commentary since you started with this format. You seem to be getting comfortable adlibbing, which is a huge achievement!! I, like most viewers, watch these videos while dropping a duce. Thanks for asking!!
Retired also. I watch daily with whatever comes up on the channels I follow (NSF, Scott Manley, RGV, Marcus House, Ellie, CSI, Everyday Astronaut, and The Space Race). I'm usually watching via laptop in my model railroad room. NSF is a must! 😀👍👍
@@DanTheisen HO at home. I'm also a member of the Jacksonville Terminal Railroad Museum. I sometimes present topics about the layout on Denny Jelsma's YT channel. 😀👍👍
Back when they didn't have commentary, I always found them difficult to watch, like "what's going on? which part of this shot should I be looking at? what are these parts and why are they important?". But now with Das's voiceover, it's much easier to follow. Usually I watch those in between doing other things at the computer, reclined in my chair.
Not retired lol. Watch on my phone at 1.5x speed while at lunch or when walking to lunch. Back before you started narrating them I would watch at 2x speed and fast forward 10 seconds at a time so could complete a 10-minute video in about 2 minutes. But I’m glad to slow down and enjoy your comments. Your comments aren’t scripted but you always have something useful to say and don’t waste my time which I appreciate. It’s a good talent to have in your profession. 😉
You 100% do get a feel of where things are from seeing the same shots so many times but I still can't imagine how much of a leap up from that it would be to be have actualy been there yourself. Then to answer your second question, I typically watch these when I can find time as they are a little bit lower down the pecking order than other things but still a really valubale look around especially with your commentary (Thanks as always Das)
I have the live feeds running all day while at work, with construction ASMR to drown out the mundane office noise... videos like this one, I watch whenever I see them...
5:55 regarding your question: I love watching these on my way to bed while brushing my teeth, changing clothes, getting snug in my bed etc. :) It's that type of content that is easy to watch and easy to follow, doesn't require too much attention but never gets boring while watching! honestly, one of my favorite video series ever since you started!
I usually watch the updates while I'm cooking dinner. I'm really happy you started doing the commentary because I can listen and focus on cooking and then look back at the computer when you point out something interesting. :)
I watch whenever i have free time, this one whilst on my work break. Sometimes at home with coffee, or whilst doing something else. Appreciate these voiceovers too. From the uk 🇬🇧.
Whenever I get the chance, especially after a bad day or a long week, I take some time to watch. On other days, I dive right in. It's always my favorite part of the day. Most of the time, I watch without the commentary just to experience the atmosphere. However, I listen to the commentary when I'm multitasking.
I watch these as soon as I see they're up! Currently chilling at 11:34pm in UK getting my updates at starbase for the day! Thanks again for everything you do NSF!!!
Great commentary Das as always. Yeah, I watch when in the kitchen cooking and as I work from home I have NSF on a tablet in the background. Raptorsides, dailyish updates, TWIS, Flame trench and launches get cast on a big TV.
I watch these updates in the mornings with my breakfast and coffee. I really got a feel for the spatial layout of starbase once I watched the 360° drive through
Don’t have a TV, Das; just internet and my iPad for everything; I watch with my feet up & drinking my tea (I’m not a coffee guy). I watch them as soon as I can/am home once they are out. - Dave Huntsman
I watched this one while enjoying a spot of lunch. Narration is a vast improvement because you can look away without missing the crucial caption (Not to mention extra details on space grout and more!). Thanks for this, and all the bots!
Couch, feet up, hot tea, i watch these at night after I've finished all my chores, dinner is done, everything is tidy, kids in bed... time for some me time! Thanks for the wonderful narration, it's quite enjoyable.
I'm retired too and I'm always checking for updates even though I get notifications. It can either early morning or other times throughout the day depending on what I'm doing. It's the best video's of the day for me and I can't wait for the next one's to post!
So for me, the starbase live is always on either at home or in my restaurant kitchen at work. And yes to all... mornings with coffee, while I cook dinner etc. I'm in New Zealand so most updates, daily, raptorsides and weekly are released or done like 8am for here. Love it, love it, love it.... Ps I could listen to Das candidly read the dictionary ... 😂
Hello, I am over in the UK just love watching the progress of both the site and build of the ship/boosters. I tend to watch them around 5am to 7am most days. I thank you and all the team at SpaceX and NASASpaceflight.
And again a brilliant video with a great voice that is wonderfully entertaining 🎉 I watch these videos in the morning after I have finished the first part of my work day. (Germany)
The live videos are relaxing and I watch them before bed. I also have playing live while my 2nd graders are doing independent desk work. They always request it.
I watch these videos first thing in the morning with coffee. Seeing SpaceX build the future brings optimism to my day! So thanks a lot for the coverage, guys!
thank you John i am a retired person who has been following rocket launches from the first flight of star hopper much appreciative of all your work watching from Melbourne Australia take care mate
I watch these on (not in any particular order) my phone, computer, or TV. It mostly depends on my schedule as to what time of day I watch. But most of all I enjoy them regardless and I wish this kind of coverage was available during Gemini thru Apollo.
Everyday I get home from work and fill my head with as much as I can. Their are so many commentators out there that its plenty to get insight. NSF, labpadre, and many others.
Watching in evening with a nice whiskey and me feet up on coffee table. But I will watch any time of day. Btw: I like the narrator versions! I like it when you just talk thru whatever you see and don’t try to entertain.
At the end of the work day, I can sit back with a "beverage", unwind and catch up on all that transpired during during the day. News, NSF updates, and other entertainment. Nice cap on the day.
Thanks again to all the NSF TEAM. Das I generally watch these videos at lunch at work. I feel like if I ever get a chance to go to Sartbase then I will have a good understanding of where these locations are based on watching the videos.
I watch as soon as I can after the notification. Currently watching this rather than the drivel my wife is watching. Love these updates NSF, please keep them coming.
I watch these whenever it shows up in my feed and I'm interested. Could be morning, afternoon, or evening! Right now I've got a mug of tomato soup with cheese sandwiches and am enjoying the commentary. Sometimes I go ambient mode as well. Been a follower since SN8! Keep it up!
Hi Das, I live in Christchurch, New Zealand. Your update videos appear to be posted mid morning NZ time. Since I am retired, I generally watch them in the afternoon, on my large tv in the lounge with a large mug of sweetened black tea. Whilst us Kiwis love our coffee, and it is proper coffee like short black, flat white, cappuccino etc., many of us are large tea drinkers as well, compliments of being colonised by the Poms (English). I enjoy your unscripted commentary. Thank you for the time anf effort you put into it. You guys do great work.
I watch on my big TV (via an AppleTV). Usually in the afternoon, when I get home from a long walk, I look to see what has updated since yesterday. NASASpaceFlight updates are usually high on my list of videos to watch while drinking post-walk coffee. I appreciate the commentary.
I watch these videos in the morning with coffee usually! That or now with football on in background silent! On the patio right now with a libation as Jack mentions!!!
I watch on AppleTV RUclips app. Obviously I picked up my iPhone to comment. Most viewing happens after work in the evening. Thanks for another great update. I appreciate the narration and pacing on the updates. Seems just right.
I'm retired. It is 10a and I'm drinking coffee and having a small breakfast. I love your commentary and feel like I'm just having a conversation with you about the video. Don't change anything.
Usually within an hr after it comes out, while sitting in my chair in the LR, but today I was sick so I watched 8 hr+ later, still in my chair. I am a home bound old lady, but I love watching been here since before it started with Mary. Was watching before it became a youtube channel.
So here I set in my van parked right in front of your Pad A Camera. Watching your summary video. I saw live and real time many of these event, but it’s always wonderful to hear your great commentary. Keep up the good work!
I'm watching this video at about 3:30 pm as I just got home from an outing of several hours. Having an alcoholic drink while watching. Been an NSF watcher for years.
Now that these have your stellar commentary John, I either watch them as I'm eating my lunch or as long as I'm at my desk, as soon as the notification comes in. They have become some of my favourite vids because the content is so hot off the press. Prior to your commentary, I had no interest in them at all. Thanks again!
I watch on my computer at my desk and in the evenings while enjoying a rum old fashioned. Star hopper looks like an elevated grain silo that you would use in a flood plain. 😁
i watch these first thing in the morning i do all my u tube videos then game on space engineers in the afternoon then after dinner back to u tube thanks for the great job NSF
I used to watch the videos in my bed before going to sleep found them quite relaxing. Now with the narration I watch them pretty much anytime, sometimes in the morning with some tea, sometimes in the afternoon with some tea, sometimes before going to bed with some tea. Always my feet up on my computer. And yes I love tea.
Loving the narration John, watching while washing up after a meal 😃Your style reminds me of Johnny Morris, a UK presenter of the 1970s, who would narrate a show called "Animal Magic" and give the animals characters. Keep up the great work 😀😀
I start my day here in Thailand by watching my YT subscription channels, Diet Coke in hand, yours are always a highlight. If they go long I'll make my keto chicken pesto for lunch.

Watching on tv, chilling, as the Sunday is ending and another week is starting. Watching the factory grow gives me motivation to grind!
I watched when I checked my notification. Breafast, Breaks at school or work, before/during folding laundry or dishes, before naps or before commuting.
I get up at 4:30, go to the gym, then back by 6. Make my breakfast and catch up on all the NSF goings ons, plus design and 3D printing stuff. Off to work by 8.
I watch in the afternoon or evening, as I have time after my part-time job. At the moment (5pm on Sunday) I'm watching in between feetsball plays and during commercials ;) On laptop or desktop computers.
Being retired, I sit with my feet up and drinking coffee, while watching NSF videos...Get the notification and then NSF is the highlight of my day!
I retire in one year, that's my plan too!
Ditto though I'm semi retired. Need some sort of retirement to keep up with NSF
I am a man of leisure too but now I don't know how I ever found time to go to work!!!!😂👍
