Rabindranath Tagore didn't recieve any formal education as he hated being bound inside a classroom. So later he established santiniketan where children are taught in open air surrounded by nature which is still one of a kind.
I was so hyped when I saw the notification for the live! Rabindranath Tagore is truly a household name in Bengal. His surname Tagore is originally pronounced "Thakur" in Bengali, which also means god. (The British used to pronounce it as "Tagore" and that caught on with the Tagore family) My father sometimes says Rabindranath Tagore is his personal god.
Fun fact: Tagore started painting at the age of 63 and is still regarded as one of the greatest painters of Bengal. Moreover even he himself called his art an "affair in the old age".
i don't typically comment, but your content is wonderful and it deserves to be pushed up in the algorithm! it's so nice to see people online willing to learn a lot, especially if it's something relatively "obscure" ❤
Rabindranath Tagore ( Our beloved Kobi Guru ) saw Life as a River . Life and Death Being two Villages. His whole life was surrounded with Death. He lost his own son at very young age. Through his poems , songs and ( my personal favourite ) short stories , he has explored the themes of the World. The world being so complex , yet the small pleasures we enjoy during our life . Thank You Scott ❤ for admiring him , our beloved Kobiguru.

He isn't just an author in Bengal he is a way of life , so much of my drive of being an artist and seeing life in a meaningful and hopeful way comes from Rabindranath , I am forever grateful that he choose to share his genius with the rest of the world. Thanks Scott for drawing him! 🤩 , love from India ,u pronounced his name right WOW!
As a Bengali, it makes me so happy and proud to see you talking about and drawing Rabindranath Tagore! An interesting fact about him is that he took up painting at the age of 63 after achieving considerable success as an author, poet, playwright, composer and lyricist! He used to refer to art as his 'shesh boyesher priya' which means 'love affair in old age'. His beginnings in art stemmed from the doodles he used to create in his manuscripts. He opened his home to young artists and started a club called 'Vichitra Club' to promote art. He also promoted art education by establishing a department of Fine Arts (Kala Bhavan) within Visva Bharati, the university he founded and invited influential artists of the time to join the department. Tagore remains an inspiration to artists by exemplifying the adage that it's never too late to reinvent yourself and start your art journey!

I m bengali, an Indian subscriber, watching you for like 2 years, it's nothing more than a compliment for us that you drew an amazing portrait of Mr Tagore. Respect.
He is one of the very first people whom we learn about since childhood as one of the most important social reformers of India.Gandhi and Mother Teresa were comparatively more famous abroad, but I think people like Subhash Chandra Bose, Raja Ram Mohan Roy, Swami Vivekananda, Rabindranath Tagore and others were also a great impact on our society rather than just being the freedom fighters. And also I'd like to mention how accurate you got his features that I could even tell it was him just when you made the rough sketch starting with the eyes and the nose. P.S. I'd suggest you to Google the names I mentioned above (There thoughts and works might contribute to your positive way of thinking towards the world.) Keep up the good work!
As your long time fan from Bangladesh, this makes me so happy to see you portraying one of my most favourite artists! We like to think of Rabindranath as the man of every emotion. Summer, spring, winter--happy, sad, angry, elated---he has written something for every mood and occasion. Truly happy that you shared his brilliance with all of us, and as always beautiful art! ❤
As an Indian Bengali, I clicked so fast when I saw this in the notification! Most, if not all Bengalis, have a potrait of Rabindranath Thakur (British changed it to Tagore to better fit their pronounciathon) in their homes and is highly regarded❤

He spoke out against intense, blind nationalism that promoted nothing constructive amongst the people, except for destruction. He believed in enlightened nationalism.
