  • One of the most commonly asked questions that I explain to patients in those first appointments is the difference between cancer grades and cancer stages.
They sound very similar but they are actually measuring two different things.
In this video, I will be explaining the differences between the two.
    Hi, I'm Dr Tasha
I’m a Doctor, Breast Cancer Surgeon and Medical Educator. After 20 years helping people to understand and overcome breast health problems, I’ve seen first hand the fear, frustration and stress that my patients go through.
As a breast specialist with over a decade’s worth of experience, I understand finding the right information, processing a diagnosis, understanding treatment and getting accurate, practical advice as you ride the rollercoaster of emotions can be really tough.
    But I’m here to help.
Many people think that as a Breast Specialist Surgeon, I just do surgery. But that’s far from the truth. In fact, the majority of my patients don’t need any treatment at all - just advice and support.
The internet can be a wonderful source of information but when it comes to breast health there’s a lot of inaccurate information out there. Listening to the wrong advice could cause you unnecessary worry or even put your health at risk.
So I wanted to create an accessible hub where you could find useful, accurate and reliable information from a trusted source - a Breast Health Doctor - all in one place.
That’s exactly what you’ll find on My Breast My Health, welcome to my RUclips Channel.

the relief you just gave me is immense. i got results today and i have a combined grade of 1. my doctor is optimistic...something about my estrogen receptor...positive 100%, progesterone HER.2 score 2+ receptor also positive @ 70%. doctors don't have time to explain these things to us so we are left to do our own research. and that's okay...but thank goodness the public has generous experienced doctors to help us understand...thank you from the bottom of my heart...i would have not slept tonight! much love to ukraine from a peace loving texan!!

  • @ghdk530

Could you please explain to me, how come stage 2 cancer may be in the breast tissue and/or in the nearby lymph .. but also stage 3 means cancer is in the breast tissue and lymph nodes ? If cancer is in both, what determines what stage it is ? .. thank you for the videos 😊

I always get confused because Stage 1, 2, and 3 here all had tumors that were also in the lymph node. I thought that differentiated 1 and 2 from 3. So if what was said here is the case, this makes it even more confusing now that before watching the video. Sorry but that is how I heard it.

Hi Dr. Tasha my sister was diagnosed with grade 3 ductal invasive carcinoma and the tumor is 1.6cm. In September 2022 her mammogram was clear no cancer detected but in September 2023 they found she had the cancer described above. She has been diagnosed stage 1 and grade 3 and my question is how fast does it take for a grade 3 tumor to spread from the actual area it originated to the lymph nodes? How fast does GRADE 3 move from stage 1 to stage 2 and from state 2 to state 3 and from stage 3 to stage 4?

    • @drtashag
      @drtashag  Год назад +3

Hi. Sorry to hear about your sister. I am afraid it is difficult to predict how fast a cancer spreads as it depends on many factors. I wish your sister well in her treatment.

    • @drtashag

Hi Pam. The best thing to do is to get it checked out with scans and a biopsy if needed. That is the only way to find out what it is I’m afraid.
