Thank you for this video, it would be nice to receive the diagnose from a pathologist, well explained like you did. When I was diagnosed with DCIS last November, I was overwhelmed and was trying to understand exactly this.
It would be nice to be able to talk to our pathologists when we are going through all of this. I would have understood it better. My question is, how many women have to take something like Tomoxifin in order to prevent one woman from having a recurrence? We are talking about drugs that can cause all kinds of other issues including heart problems. It really reduces the quality of life for a patient and you are talking about taking it for years. How does this effect health years down the road? The last thing I want to do is cause an additional health issue because I took a drug that possibly may have prevented me from getting a recurrence. It really sounds like a crap shoot. I was treated for low grade DCIS and have a lower possibility of it coming back yet I have doctors pushing me to take an anti estrogen medication. I am finally feeling great after having to come off of my natural hormone therapy, having surgery and radiation. Now I am supposed to take a drug that is going to make me feel like crap and harm my body even more? I am 64 years old and I just don't see the logic in this.
Had DCIS, WITH 11MM tumor. ER pos, pgr pos, Her2 low/ neg +1. Had lumpectomy, will have 5 day radiation and will go on tamoxefen or aromatase tx. Have calcifications on other side as well. Recurrence %?. It was invasive. 22:29 65 yrs old, complete historectomy at 36. No pregnancies. What is likelihood of recurrence?

How are you?
Does a biopsy cause a break in the duct which could spread cancer?
I would like to know also
I want to know too 😢
I would like to read any reply about this from a breast oncologist.
I believe that it happened to me.
That was in my mind & still in my mind even after surgery. Looking forward to an answer please

I agree with you! Most DCIS never becomes cancer, but they need a way to determine which ones will!
And they have no idea which case’s will become cancerous they are just shooting arrow’s in the dark and making everybody take the same treatment 😮
Research DCISION and COMET. They are doing studies for overtreatment of DCIS
Yes. Good question
My advice would be trust the doctors you may not need to be on the tablets longer than five years
Great summary.

@@dianealexander9385Hello Dear, sitting in the waiting room for my biopsy. How are you doing,♥️
I'm confused by the pathways slide at 7:08. What about high grade, ER positive DCIS?
Hi Can repeated mammograms cause a comedy necrosis to start .
What that mean [ no residual carcinoma noted ]
Hi Doctor can you pls help me out review my patholoy slides/blocks and reports? I feel like I am.being dismissed and doctors are not taking my symptoms seriously due to report " benign"
Could the calcification be caused by taking high strength vitamin D supplements without vitamin K2?
What did they do for you that you’re so in love with them?
sorry comedo necrosis .
