I always felt that Manna Da sang semi-classical better than Rafi Sahib. But to my surprise, I saw an O.P. Nayyar interview where he is talking about one of his semi-classic songs, a duet sang by both the singers, and he was full of praise for Rafi Sahib and said, "see how relaxed he is in this song compared to the other singer". Well, I guess, us laymen do not know all the nuances of the classic singing.

Both were great singers no doubt. However Rafi Saheb was the biggest male playback singer and Manna Dey saheb also mentioned this in his interviews that nobody could take Rafi saheb's place. In Mere Huzoor also , Rafi saheb was the main singer and he sang all the romantic songs for both Jeetendra and Raj Kumar.

Well we all know that Rafi Saheb & Manna D j were both top singer's.but Rafi Saheb,s voice suited all hero,s were Manna de,s voice was limited suited to many hero,s.at last Rafi Saheb,s voice was 100 % better then Manna de ji voice

Md sang the song composed by bengali poet kaji naajurul Islam, copied by s d & was easy to expose because of bengali thoughts as like when Mr sang of Bahadur Shah & Mirza Ghalib was easy to expose.
In my opinio had Mr sang the song would have been more better to be like as well other songs as Mr was the perfect singer to had been the right choice. Don't think that I don't like Md but truly say that Md was greatest for ever if I am not wrong.
