- हिंदी फिल्मों में राजकपूर, दिलीपकुमार से लेकर राजेंद्र कुमार जैसे सितारे सुपरस्टार रह चुके थे लेकिन राजेश खन्ना जैसी लोकप्रियता और स्टारडम हिंदी फिल्मों के इतिहास में नई बात थी। उनसे पहले कभी किसी एक्टर के लिए दर्शकों में इतनी दीवानगी नहीं थी। राजेश खन्ना को ये स्टारडम दिलाने में किशोर कुमार की जादुई आवाज का भी बड़ा योगदान था। सबको लग रहा था कि राजेश खन्ना और किशोर कुमार की जोड़ी को टक्कर दे पाना मुश्किल ही नहीं, नामुमकिन है। लेकिन तभी मोहम्मद रफी ने अपनी हमिंग से ऐसा जादू किया और धर्मेंद्र में रोमांस का ऐसा तड़का लगाया कि राजेश खन्ना का स्टारडम हवा में पत्तों की तरह उड़ गया।
