I’m truly grateful no more adoption allowed from Ethiopia anymore. Even though there’s few beautiful success stories. Most adopted children internationally have the same trauma.
Thank you for sharing your stories

Two beautiful souls-thank you for sharing your stories. You're absolutely right about staying out of tribalism. I left Ethiopia as a young adult, and even I struggle to understand it. One thing I know for sure is that no one benefits from division. You both have so much to offer. Our time on this earth is far too precious to waste on things that do not benefit humanity.
    Congratulations on the baby, Bessa.

I am so sorry about your losses and thank you so much for sharing your stories , I totally agree with Bessa , if adoption has to be made it should be within families or at list in the same country , and I don't see why you should be grateful because you were adopted , you didn't chose to be adopted but they chose to adopt you, there are so many ppl in Ethiopia who have been raised in poor families but latter on became successful through education or other thing with out being separated from their families, who knows your destiny . please keep shining and may God grant you all your wishes

I find it shameful when I hear parents tell children to be grateful especially when we all know that child/children didn’t ask to be born. Think about it these children went through a lot that they didn’t ask for please be kind to them you didn’t walk a mile in their shoes. I admire your bravery to endure my fellow sisters those who did you wrong will rot in hell. I pray healing upon you….i will volunteer at the meet & greet

They had no consideration for Bessa's mom as a human being with rights because she was not wealthy and African. They took her children. They were not adopted they were abducted. They robbed them of so much with their savior syndrome and yet as a child Bessa had to be "grateful". I cried when she talked about her mom's passing. I am so sorry for what you both went through.

I’m so happy to watch you laughing 😂 through the sadness. Life’s not perfect anywhere.
I wish now you’re adults know what it feels like. If you open a website to connect with other adoptees. Things they don’t dare to share with their adoptive parents. They can communicate and connect with other adopted kids. It will help them to get out of depression and find easily to share their feelings.

Thinking to deeply about it, stop digging up the past. Look frwd, past is past. Don’t be stuck it, I hear sadness, you don’t talk about the positive. Sorry about your moms, so yea poor life back home didn’t let them live long, so yea be grateful, I care here willingly at your age, I appreciate it here, and girls I stay focused on the future. Past is past, move on.

And the white moms, respect them. They took you in and you all ain’t their blood child, so I’d refrain saying anything negative about them. She was cold, she wasn’t so warm, bla bla … yo again be grateful, hats off to the white moms. I know I’d adopt no kid so I respect them. So white adaptive mommies, I commend you! Thank you!

What are you rumbling about? lol. You are not making any sense! Did you even listen to the entire video? Because clearly, you’re missing the point. It’s ok for someone to share their experience. Telling someone to just “be thankful” dismisses their feelings and the challenges they may have faced. Everyone’s story deserves to be heard and respected.
