Hi everyone, I'm Hailyn, and I’m excited to start this new journey with you! In this 6-minute intro, I’ll share a bit about myself and what to expect from my channel. Born in Ethiopia, I was adopted at 7 by a white Mormon family in Utah. My adoption story is complex, with beautiful memories and challenging experiences. Returning to Ethiopia and starting my nonprofit, Futprints, helped me reconn...
My dad was a violent husband and father. We almost didn't survive. I remember running down the stairs after an ice cold shower to pile under all the blankets by the fire bc dad used the money for drugs . Heber can be a dark, lonely and horrible place. I'm so sorry you all went through this!! I wish I could have been a better friend to you guys. "It could have been so wonderful." Is the most heartbreaking, relatable phrase of my day. :(
Can relate. My parents drank coffee and were so different from other families in Heber even though we were white. There are layers of not having the right last name. Also, you don't go to hell but you'll go where you're most comfortable in the 3 degrees of glory.. However, you'd not be sealed unless you make it to Celestial. Love you sharing your story. <3 I knew Shumba best. She was so kind always!
My mom was the rock and roll mama who drank coffee but went to church too. LOL
Hi I just barely saw your video and I just noticed that my aunt was actually your translator who is adanech

You look like your mother, are you sure she is your adaptive mother?
We love you and are proud of you ❤Keep up the RUclips vids!
Mom did what she could given she was also a victim herself but the daughter seems like she blames the mom for most of the things that happened and not see things from the mom's point of view which is sad to see😥 Manipulative husband are terrible even for adult person but the mom was just a kid who was just 14 who was molded by abusive husband😥 god bless you both of you
The mom is soooo wonderful, the young lady is soooo beautiful❤
Hi. The Amhara people of Ethiopia, have fought alongside US soldiers in Korea. Memorials honoring their acts of sacrifice stands to this day, in washington DC & in South Korea. The Amhara people are historically hardworking scholarly and courageous. US & South korea including all of us with shared virtues speak up against a repressive dictatorship waging war to exterminate the Amhara. The mainstream media is uninterested, but you can follow news on social media. Use all opportunities left and right to voice support for the plight of Amharan people. Please don't hesitate to write your support which could be as simple as ' Hands off Amhara people', 'Love and respect for the Amhara resistance' 'All rise for the rights of Amhara '. Its ok if you copy paste or make something of your own to show your support for Amhara cause which is nothing else but human right. Thank you so much. Love you.
I like your stories & YOU ARE SO GORGEOUS! WHERE DID YOU GET THAT GREAT LOOKS FROM? SO BEAUTIFUL❤
The mom is an archetypical mom. She is most adorable. She brings memories of my ethiopian mom (bless her soul)
WONDERFUL mom
We often hear negative things about adoption, but it’s so refreshing and uplifting to hear you share your experience. Look at you-you are living proof that we are all adopted by one loving God.

I love you little sister! You’re a bad ass- thank you for creating these beautiful videos.
Love you too brother-Thanks for always supporting me!
Your beauty is amazing
I hope the both of you can find complete healing. Your mom needs more of you in her life, I hope you both find a way to redeem your relationship and the lost opportunities. I am sorry you had to go through this, I hope you can find a way to forgive and be free. You are more than what has happened to you and more than the background you have. Lots of love from your fellow Ethiopian. Life is a journey and I pray you get to overcome this. Thank you for sharing🥰. If it helps I have read Joyce Meyer's book titled the power of your thoughts and if you have not read it I recommend it to you. She (The author) had a very difficult childhood and despite all she has overcomed them all through the grace of God. Stay blessed ❤
Thank you so much for your thoughtful message. Healing is definitely a journey, and I’m grateful we’re on it together, with our relationship growing stronger. I appreciate the book recommendation-I’ve heard of it, and it’s now in my Amazon cart! Excited to dive into it. Thank you again!
I think you are covering for your biological mom. Because only she works at the orphanage in Ethiopia, she uses the opportunity to send her kids to America for a better life while there are so many children who dont have parents and familly in the orphanage. Your biological mother is a very selfish woman. No it is not because of mixed up information as you made it out to be but pure deception and using the system purly for personal gain while kids with no familly grows out of orphanage and end up in the street as a homless. Second...I dont think you have children, but I dont judge you either for not understanding her at a young age for not giving you time to talk ...but I think by now you should understand how much effort it takes to raise a familly of 13 with grandkids included to cook, clean, socialize, wash cloths ans so on and be appreciative of what she did. Well, you said I dont wana live your life.....wait and see, sweetheart, you never know what lofe throws you at. Dear adaptive mom, it was not your fault that your husband did this aweful act he is purely responsible. And you are a beautiful soul to raise such a big family but still care for children. You thought they needed your he, p and Helen, I am sorry that you were abused you dont deserv it.
I think your mom didn't know what was going on in that house that time but she looks very kind❤
I’m so sorry to hear that you went through this terrible experience. I pray to God that you heal from this and move forward. You are so beautiful.
You have an amazing mother and you are amazing also 🥰
This mom is amazing. She is an angel. You tried to provide love and all the best things you can provide to kids. It’s not easy adapting one let alone 6 children with complete different background. Parents do push their religion to their children because we all think our religion is the best. You want only the best to your children. Hailyn you are beautiful.
God bless you mama 🥰
Thats Why i love Americans ❤
