Detroit hoods are so weird because it was such a nice middle to upper class city at first so now it’s just these beautiful big houses turned decrepit and beat up.
This is the result of a massive population decline. At one time Detroit had 1,849,000 r😊residents within it's city limits. Latest estimates is something like 632,000 now.
The money left, and the crime crept in. This is what happens when big work suppliers die off, and it's happening all over tbh, just only a few places where you can buy a house cheap and a low crime rate so you can continue to have nice things, it's mostly depopulated also no work around unless you can work remote that is. Course the issue is maybe the nearest petrol station is 6 miles or more, and groceries same thing. Also when whole towns or areas just get abandoned and there is nobody to make laws or pay taxes etc, nobody cares, there are parts where the police won't go there.
It’s sad seeing ruins of homes and businesses that at one point in time were the pride and joy of a person or family and their entire lives. It’s a pity seeing such hard work become rubble.
Bad cuz it was done ... deliberately ! trust that ! Detroit was a booming rising blk.people "moving to the top" popular...w/ all the artists...Motown... they didn't like that ... we didn't need em
Welcome to life. Kinda no matter where you live unless your parents give you a house and there is no wealth tax on it, you work to buy things that will be worthless sooner than later.
Compilation means different neighborhoods throughout the city. The first half is from a few days ago, and the rest 3 to 4 months ago. You act as though compilation means its from the 80's. Almost all my videos are compilations. I just wanted different words in the title.
There is a street worker, she has a youtube page. Shes also addicted to drugs and lives in SW michigan ave. Its so weird to see these videos and have unfortunately seen her page before..
@redbone8844 maddies journey to success. Don't donate! She has documented (for money to feed her addiction) her body's deterioration and the damage is shocking.
The area is pretty nice overall and has potential. You could get a place and fix it up for cheap but where do you acquire goods? Wonder how far out this area is. They have eight Costco locations in Detroit so there must be some way to make it work.
Stop it. Please. The area has been cleaned up and most of what is shown is old-outdated and no longer exist and have been demolished years ago. The area is mostly open fields TODAY.
Detroit mostly looks like this stil..l basically anywhere outside of downtown and its surrounding neighborhoods still need lots of help.. Once you get out a few miles It looks just like this.I just filmed the last 2 weeks with videos.I'm uploading soon that look exactly like this
I have a question for someone from Detroit. Would it be dangerous for a tourist to walk through this settlement during the day? Maybe it sounds strange, but I would honestly really like to visit places like this in the US. I'm white, maybe that's negative or it doesn't even matter?
This is a compilation video. These places are mostly vacant fields now. However, Detroit features the cleanest downtown and finest river walk in the nation, along with much more viable places!
I'm a Detrotier, moved years ago, lived by the university of Detroit, seen some Asians, that went to the college, site seeing, car stopped and told them, that might not be good ideal the lady in my comment name flygirl please take down that ugly picture 🖼️😆 didn't no buckwheat had a sister
Don't believe any of the comments saying these areas don't exist and are open fields. Those people making those comments aren't even from Detroit. Charlie recently recorded these videos. Detroit has a ton of work to do. They are no where near finished when it comes to "cleaning" up hoods.
Are there really that many bandos left they tear them down everyday I see videos of demos every week seems like the ones they tear down look better than these
This is a compilation vide. Much of what is shown here, no longer exist. The area has been cleaned up and many of the homes have been demolished years ago. And you can know for sure because the date of the cars that are shown, dates the video. You can easily date when a video is filmed by looking at the cars that are present in the video.
Lady I live in Detroit none of the areas shown here are open fields, the last half of it have a few houses that have been demolished because they are doing a lot of demolitions. But there is still a lot to go. I can do a video right now 30 minutes long showing endless abandoned homes still standing. This is from a few days ago and about 3 to 4 months ago.
Can you explain what you mean about the date of the cars? If thats the case then you clearly don't know what you talking about because there are 2023 and 2024 cars in this video. This not from the 70's It's from a few days ago and 3 to 4 months ago.
@lithesteel9599 in today's Detroit, they would find some salvageable houses, but mostly empty fields where blight has been torn down. The salvageable land bank houses need total rehab!
An American City comeback will only be accomplished, when housing for the average citizen is available, by way of rebuilding, rehabbing houses that need some TLC, and the city government releasing houses to people that want a home in the City of Detroit. Shame on City officials for such a long delay in creating an Economic Rebound for Detroit Michigan.
I wish some billionaire would do a social experiment and purchase about ten plots of land and build really nice single family homes on them, and then give them cost free to ten random families in the area and see if they return to trash or not. Furnished and everything.
All those empty lots and fucked up houses were once nice with neighbors knowing everyone. Kids. Memories. Lots of memories. Ghosts. Around.
Detroit hoods are so weird because it was such a nice middle to upper class city at first so now it’s just these beautiful big houses turned decrepit and beat up.
That's what happens when all the jobs leave
Yeah some of these places are pretty massive.

"It's a pity seeing such hard work become rubble."
Yeah, litterally.
Is that Singleton Cleaners @ 5:57?
Your clothes are not clean until they're Singleton's clean!
To compare this area today with even fifty years ago just boggles the mind.
Its what all western nations want for their citizens now... just that some types of citizens make it easier than others do.

See the houses & busnesses gone to a mess. It's the memories that kill a bod.
They need to be re building them houses some of them a couple years old
Lol! Most of them are likely torn down now!
Excellent compilation! Definitely a great "before" video !

THIS A COMPILATION video. THE AREA ARE NOW -- OPEN FIELDS. Those areas are clean up and the old homes HAVE BEEN DEMOLISHED - YEARS AGO.
What area is that,I couldnt see street signs
Lol. Compilation!
😕😟☹🙁....Ohhhh America, how far you've fallen🥺😢 - the fault of all the governments, from all levels, past and present....
Wow
Detroit "Officials" aren't working hard when it comes to "cleaning" the inner city. Downtown yes, but hoods no

@lithesteel9599 in today's Detroit, they would find some salvageable houses, but mostly empty fields where blight has been torn down. The salvageable land bank houses need total rehab!

Mogadishu is in better shape than that
You don't know that. THIS IS AN OLD, outdated video. Most of the places NO LONGER there. Demolished years ago.

Some houses are there. But not worth shit. Because the neighborhood is fucked up. 2 livable houses. And 100 burnt up. No value. So sad😢😢😢
