Lots of comments say they don't understand the story (like where did the 50k go?)... Perhaps we'd understand what happened if the hosts would let the guests speak. Anyone else notice the hosts told most of the story and constantly cut off the guests when they were talking?!

she was never a friend probably jealous! as adults we shouldn't have people to close to us, there are a lot of jealous people! at least they are still together
She tricked them into thinking they got a job for 7 months because she was jealous of their life and happiness. That was the gain she got. To see them suffer. She didn't gain financially from it

They took loans out on credit cards to tie them along and also the wedding didn’t go ahead so they lost the amount they paid for it ( can be expensive) plus they lost the wage for all that time. 2k+ a month adds up quick. That becomes 4k+ a month if they are using credit cards to surplus that amount.
My parents told us never leave a job until you know for sure you have a job. I never heard of you cant get a job or have a job while waiting for a job acceptance. Is this a thing in UK. If Helen was working how was she with couple so much. Helen should have her own tthings to do. Who says your name is on a desk? How do you get back wages if you didnt work? If you apply for a job, you either apply online or you bring application back in person yourself. You call yourself to check on your application status. I dont understand why this couple let Helen be in charge of her job application and status.
someone tryed being nice to me then we went on hols me and my husband and someone tryed to say i conned setting them up with gambling ticket was a longstory. i didnt do nothing wrong they were trying to find somebody to bully as the person saying i done it was prob in money trouble and needed to get out as in she was going gambling and got caught by bf and then decieded to get me into i was well shocked
and the funny is the girl who tryed to asscuse me saw me in coffee and was like come back to ours dont like to see people on their own and i should of been a bit more careful and when got there house was mess and had lot of items of cdplayer lamps beatbox extra .and she gave me one. .then i lefted carryed on life then started getting threanithing phone s wen was onle hols for weeks. i was like not took no money thought we were friends crazy.
It's always like this with Women a you got to be wary of the quiet ones my childhood mate would have nearly done this to me i got rid of her in time spotted Red Flags quickly
