no it's happened with the Toronto fire service also there's a video posted on here of a spare toronto rig with it's rear compartment door swinging open.
NOPE this rig was after 9/11 but in 2007 they recieved the pierce rig and ran with that. They are currently in the process of getting 5 new rescues so each rescue will have their own reserve but this is another year down the road. But again this Res1cue was after 9/11 but the pierce is the current rig
@mOviestarthw12 A rescue can be used for alot of different things, but alot of times they are use for either a bad car accident where they would have to use a special tool known as "the jaws of life" , to free the entrapped person from their vehicle. And on some rescues they have a certain type of air compressor called a cascade system to refill the air tanks the firefighters use when going into a smokey environment. But few rescues have them. Thats basically the esscentials of a rescue truck.
@tvercetti1 umm beg to differ, FDNY uses Code 3 XL5100 mini lightbars, and have recently switched to Whelen Mini Freedoms, and/or FedSig LED/Halogen Mini_aerodynics, and as far as sirens they use Federal Signal, PA300s, EQ2Bs, and the occasional Q2B.
You obviously are a probie or Pierce Kool-Aid drinker. The pre E-One Saulsbury Rigs were some of the finest ever built. Saulsbury was the exclusive builder of FDNY Rescues for many years.
well at least we have stations with up to 40 (or even more) vehicles, but thatfor fewer stations than a comparable city in the US. In my city the full time FD has only one single station (29 vehicles), and at a average response driving speed of 40 mph through city traffic it takes around 6 minutes to cover 90% of the city's area

Ha that's an e-one for ya. Can't keep the doors shut. Shit we have an e-one. J/k Does anyone know why they use the swinging doors instead of the roll-up ones?

Way off on that one smoky!!
i'm not sure of the exact reason, but i know they wanted to do it differently than everyone else. and FDNY is easier to say than NYFD
If the FDNY had some federal q on it they would get through town faster
For what is a Rescue used?

The Q2B is more common now on fire trucks in NYC.

Denis Leary in Rescue Me.
moneyhahn, there are no probies in the rescue companies.
What is the video called?
That door sung open, the LFB WOULDNT DO THAT :)
Sam Pinnock LFB can’t since they use sliding lockers, and they have done it many times
Whats the purpose of this truck? looks like a command truck, or equipment truck. Why is Rescue #1 not a ladder truck or pumper?
What happened to this truck when it was replaced by the Pierce?

@LTasshole its a walk in rescue soo the crew goes in from the back, they always leave it open
