Great story. Couldn't we get a few seconds of the outro? Linda is the best 70's female singer. Thank you!
That outro has always fascinated me. It's exquisitely beautiful, yet musically totally different from the song. Pure genius..
I can't hear Linda Ronstadt's name without thinking of Steve Vai quoting Frank Zappa: "I hear Linda Ronstadt is looking for a guitarist." (Look up the video about Steve Vai's audition for Frank Zappa if you don't know what I'm talking about. It's a great story.)
Listening now, thanks.
RIP Andrew Gold (1951-2011).
Sometimes equipment malfunctions give birth to new sounds. Best case in point: Marty Robbins' "Don't Worry", the middle part.
I always thought that was a synthesizer at the end of You're No Good.
Love Linda! ❤
Crazy that LR had only one number 1 in her solo career! Hard to believe.
Always Great content John
Dude! I have that same Teac reel-to-reel tape deck sitting in my basement. Very cool.
Well, there's also a string arrangement on "You're No Good", which Andrew Gold may have arranged but I highly doubt he played all those violins.
It sounds like chorus. I don't hear anything unusual.
Her only #1 hit? She made other music that was so much better!
no good and heatwave hava great guitar thing goin on….
Yea,steve vai should of went with LR,he would or made wayyy more money than Zappa and easier on th eyes!
Just listened to it. I didn’t hear anything unusual.
