they are annoying but once you get 25 of them its fine if you are completely running out then you are using them too much. I do agree that they should just be glimmer but a problem with that is that almost everything in the game costs glimmer and adding that would make it worse but it wouldnt be much of a problem if bungie just listened and upped the glimmer cap to a million or something or just remove it altogether. if there was no glimmer cap I would probably have a few hundred million at this point and most other people even new lights would most likely have millions of bright dust. but to be honest I think the legendary shards system is very bad and much more annoying. I've been playing since the start of the game (granted I have taken a few breaks) but Ive only ever had just over 2,000 legendary shards at a time which in the game right now is barely anything since just about everything costs at least 50 shards to buy once
Imo this is pretty bad because 1. It may have taken thousands of hours to acquire that many shards just for bungie to take it away with no composition and 2. Glimmer cap still exists so if bungie does this and the cap for Glimmer still exist then in a way its gonna be even more annoying to buy things like focusing trials engrams etc and earning glimmer in general since shards will be gone u can't just buy them from master rahool so whatever you want to buy stuff you are going to end up with 0 glimmer everytime so theoretically. The glimmer economy is going to be even worse and does more harm then good

Bungie are just preparing the game to be accessible to the free to play player base and new players ready for when they abandon the game once Final Shape comes out…always enjoyed your Destiny content buddy but I hope you have a back up plan

So I’m guessing the best way to get rid of all these THOUSANDS of legendary shards is to simply buy as many Enhancement Cores as one can afford before Bungie takes away all of our shards?
just buy golf balls and crystals. cap the golf balls and crystals. buy the egg yolk every week and keep your glimmer capped. Easiest work around that isnt filling your vaults precious free space with junk to dismantle later
Have you NOTICE they only take away the stuff you can EASILY OPTAIN, while keeping everything that is a GRIND to get! If you really want to simplified stuff why don't you take away all the other CONSUMABLES and just leave Legendary Shards and Enhancement Cores? Why? Because is not about helping the players, it has never been about helping the player. In my Opinion is about...... 1. Cleaning their servers and the amount of Data they carry, is only for THEIR BENEFIT. They know once the Saga ends alot of players will be gone, a GREEDY Company trying to minimize cost while making Billions of Dollars in Profit. 2. They want to minimize the Consumables so they can charge you for the harder ONES to get. They want to sell them to you, just like they do for creating Ornaments. This is and will continue to be amout Monitization. 3. This is literally a Re-Organization of the Economy in the game. Is called E C O N O M Y for a reason. This is nothing but Bungie showing you how much more GREEDY they are about to get. This is NOT ABOUT THE PLAYER, mark my words, Bungie is a WOLF in Sheep Clothings!
Let me translate: Bungie says "Everyone has plenty of legendary shards so we need to nix them and introduce something else you will have to grind endlessly for to buy stuff."
Making me feel bad for being a long time player is a bad move. I deserve to have hoards of materials compared to someone who just started. I've been collecting for 4 years lol
I have been passionately been saving shards for yrs now i started taking it serious around 12k shards i now have 28k saved up and never done a shard exploit ever and now after all that work there being removed and theres no currency exchanged for them too .... lovely ..... nothing like years of work being robbed from me because theres players out there that cheat.....great job bungie next time try pvp exploiters.....
I've been in legendary shard debt since Forsaken when enchantment shards were the main masterwork material. Only now recovered only for Bungie to remove em. Bungie should just make everything free! They should just make everything accessible, remove the grind, remove the RNG, remove the glimmer, and remove the upgrade materials. Remove everything Edit: I'm sick of Bungie taking apart the game for New Light players. Because who does benefit from this the most, new players. New players that will definitely not return to the game once they realize they still have to pay for campaigns or once they beat the campaign, they ain't returning
I didn’t hear a single nerf that was asked for besides Anteaus for crucible. We want AE Revert or 100AE for all guns not a slight bump for slugs and snipers.. all guns have felt terrible every since they added AE and killed Destiny’s once famous GunPlay..
Destiny franchise has gone to crap now there are coming for legendary shards... it's pathetic move We can't make the game better..so we will gate everything instead and force you to buy everything with cash..mobile game anyone. The so-called excuse from Bungie is the biggest load of shit going...I going to enjoy the backlash inbound for them and it's well deserved Super scummy move... Gtfoh with that bs bungie. I played long hours to save up those shards, no exploits. So many things I could’ve spent my shards on but i held back to save em up. How are you gonna remove shards and not ascendant alloys and you talking about making it seem like our time is valued. So many things i wanna say 😡
This is some major bullshit just because there are new players we need to get punished they literally saying ooh u didnt play the game until now oke right lets punish the veterans for that
So they remove shards…. And don’t increase glimmer cap…. So now there is no effective way buy glimmer at rahool…. I know glimmer isn’t rare, but the cap makes it so that whenever you do spend it a lot you have 0. Having shards meant you could just buy glimmer when you needed it. Now we have to farm public events
I wish they let us swap perks for world drop weapon since it is very hard to get the perks that we want, to swap the perks that we want, we must unlock it first, then we swap it out with glimmer or any currency in the game.
Noooo you know how hard was to balance legendary shards. When the exalted truth was bugged I spent 8k legendary shards for a god roll(I never got one) took me till now to get back. I could of used em to focus. Noooo
I’m retiring from destiny once my sythos get nerfed I’m really done no more money n time from me I hope a really good Star Wars game come out or something I’m done
How do people not have legendary shards? I have had to purchase upgrade modules for years and I have like 5k. What exactly is the problem here? And we need Three of Coins back if strange coins are relevant again. Unless they are just gonna monetize Xur entirely and only run him thru the 30th Anniversary pack
I could understand bungo doing this AFTER the Final Shape, as that essentially is the end of legacy Destiny 2. But why now? How many new players are there now for a nine-year old game?
I've wasted years of my life running out of shards and getting thousands back but now that's gone which is nice, but not being able to transfer them into something else like cores or prisms is absolutely scummy, so much time wasted for nothing
I have 1,000s and that's the problem, the only thing that they are used for beyond upgrading gear is banners and glimmer. Take the need to use them to buy anything and boom, you don't even need them. So what's really the problem here? A number? or the use of them? Most people on this thread mention the number and then go on a spiral about how unfair it is. It's not unfair if you don't need them anymore. They become pointless then and I'm sorry but if you have 20K+ you didn't really care about their use in the first place, instead of moaning about blueberries and some Bungie conspiracy, play the game not a number.
Dude, synthoseps lost the malee range to have to be surrounded to get weapons handling buffs. Titan are going to lose way more malee fights even though we are supposed to be the malee class
Ok... So now after planetary resource we're loosing shards whats next? BRIGHT DUST? and everything Will cost Silver. Also like why? Legendary shards were the whole reason to try and get Legendary stuff in D1! Just make D3 or start over couse damn glimmer being only currency is becoming boring af! Its supposed to be and mmorpg looter shooter
They are annoying me with this... People who've formed them out in TIME and WORK. Get rid of Spoils of Conquest then... how many people can't raid? I've been shard broke many of times. Never did any exploits for them. I don't like this... and if they don't enhance the glimmer cap, what's the point???
Gun Game in Destiny? This is about to get JUICY and you watch all the RUclipsRS crying about it because now they are going to be annihilated since they won't have their shotguns and abilities. I called it, they are going to CRY just like when Destiny 2 came out. Waaaaaaahhh! LOL 😂😂😂
So once AGAIN for the greater good of ALL these bandwagon " New Light " players and because the " it's not fair " mentality and the heinous equality narratives Bungie doing away with Legendary shards....PATHETIC.
This silliness may be OK for New Light players, who may have no shards at all, but, once again, Bungie insults and attacks the veteran players, who actually fund Bungie. This is corporate insanity. I've been playing since the Destiny 1 beta, all DLCs for both games, but I'm getting pretty tired of this crap. Is Bungie going to abandon Destiny 2? I think that is a legitimate question at this time.
For "old players", like me, Legendary Shards are in the thousands (>29K for me). Is Bungie really trying to "simplify the economy" or make things harder to more players? They keep introducing new currencies every season. This is likely another lame excuse. Any "barrier" could be more easily removed by increasing drop rates of legendaries, increasing the amount of shards per dismantled items, allowing to buy shards for glimmer only (old Spider system)... Bungie lost my trust long ago. I do not see this as a real solution and wonder how worse things may become.
No I doubt it. They’re just trying to make the game as casual friendly as possible before the final shape to be able maximize their sale on the expansion hence why we got leveling up weapons with materials and other changes.
@@akatoshmorgul9367 How? Removing shards and keep adding new currencies, as well as making hard to acquire whatever other currency will be needed. I proposed much easier solutions that would make life of new players easier to acquire shards. Things may become as Bungie is stating but as someone who has been playing since D1 launch, I can tell you those statement are usually not true.
Focusing weapons and equipment for 25/50 shards is ridiculous when we only gain 3/6 shards per item dismantled. I went from 7k shards to 100 because if that. I wish they would fix the game because removing shards is not necessary but the big brains over at Bungie can't seem to make an efficient way to gain resources (laughs in prison of elders) but this decision is just another microcosm of Bungie's awful development and decision making process.
Th synthos change might actually be really good if the buff is relevant. The whole rubberband bs needs to go from the game in general. Ahamkara nerf might ruin it in pve tho considering you can chain nades with the right perks on orb pick ups.
How are we supposed to get all the Glimmer, we will need to get around Legendary Shards being removed...??? Farm Public Events...??? Dude, i'm gonna spend every last one of my 90k to not have a problem with that shit, ever...
Why not have a knockout system for exotics, where it cost 10 for the first 1 and cost 1 more per each unlocked. 10, 11, 12...still with rng to unlock normally, 1 cost for weapons, 1 cost per class armor. additional cost for catalyst (extra cost for completed catalyst). New lights would have cheap cost to get the good exotics. but ones locked behind a quest would not be part of the knockout (just add emblem to quest ones, aswell as if they don't have the expansion turn the symbol red. It would be easy to obtain exotics for new lights but a grind for older player (which may have it saved up over time to get them anyway)
Dude.... I have just breached the 10k mark and they're doing this..... oh well, time to trade in some for glimmer and Nightfall Engrams. Sucks to hear this though, my friend would have loved this, as he was always broke when it came to Legendary Shards.
so , until then just spent them on golf balls and aloys and masterwork gear and exotics , or buy all exotics from kiosk for those who dont have already all .. on the one hand, it's an ok thing, let's just stay with glimmer, but on the other hand, it's bad, because you could buy gilmmer with shards, those who have a lot of shards always do that :)) buy glimmer out of laziness :)) plus those exchange glimmer on shards, help to farm bountys, for those who wanted xp
I have 22k+ legendary shards, over the years I've played. They've really failed at incorporating anything valuable to use the currency for. Bungie really seems to keep shooting themselves in the foot with their decisions.
They have to rework lumen not shards, in vanilla d2 I always had few shards, but playing the game reward u shards, now I have 98k, so just because people do not know how to play and how to earn shards they have to remove them? Ok wow I'm done with this childish game.
Never ever had a issue with shards and if you were low on them you clearly just don't play enough. I always sit around 20,000 of em like bro they hand them out like hot cakes.
Why don’t they just increase shards drops by double from 4 to 8 make some way to buy enhancements core… I didn’t even make it in time for the shards glitch but still have 4000+
Wasn't it a few years ago when people complained they couldn't find Xur? I refuse to go back to hunting for the guy who has nothing worth finding him for. Honestly his inventory always sucks.
So what its just glimmer really now? Yknow for all its hardships and rose tinted glasses aside, D1 had hard content but it always felt rewarding to do it. You were always able to rack up your resources if you played enough. This is hand leading blueberries in a way the new stock emblem should just be a damn pacifier.
I have 10 stak of 999 enchantment cores in my vault, so bungie need to remove the courrency bc new lights (people who got the game for free, play only 1 hour and unistall forever) can take them as much OK

they are annoying but once you get 25 of them its fine if you are completely running out then you are using them too much.
The glimmer economy is going to be even worse and does more harm then good
@00Grimreaper00 I guess they should remove the glimmer limitations and increase glimmer drop rates and quantities. That should solve it
7:27 I miss when he used to be all over the different planets pre vaulting, when I came back to the game last year I was pretty confused as to why he only rotates between Nessus, tower, and the EDZ.. like why not have him be anywhere amongst all destinations
Because he never got a location to go to in the new areas. Honestly? That would be sweet though. One week xur is just in the thrownworld and it takes the community to find him, rather then his static locations we already have burned into our heads
@@charlesstaples3054 yeah exactly
Bungie are just preparing the game to be accessible to the free to play player base and new players ready for when they abandon the game once Final Shape comes out…always enjoyed your Destiny content buddy but I hope you have a back up plan
I have over 65,000 shards that I got just playing the game, no exploits. I knew they were going to do this eventually because veteran players always get punished for the sake of newer players. It’s beyond frustrating.
The fact that they blatantly lie about respecting our time while not offering any sort of exchange is scummy.
I mean that's bungie for you. Only thing they're great at is complaining that their job is hard and disappointing us.🤡
Nah bro I’m poor AF in the shard department. I ain’t no casual either haha
Whens the last time you've touched grass
Well in a way it's good. You'll be known as the raid banner guy. Buy like 3k banners you'll be set for life
I get what you mean because I got some where between 19000 to 20000 shards
I got 20K and earned them all legit from day 1. To appease new players and let’s be honest new players are rare I get nothing of any sort to exchange my shards because Bungie doesn’t want veteran players to have something a blueberry doesn’t have. Thanks Bungle I’m glad my time spent playing is being rewarded. To clarify if they want to remove currencies go right ahead but don’t punish players because they have a lot of something that others may not have. Bungle at its finest. 🤦♂️
Stfu not everyone has hours to spend sitting on their ass being a fuckin bum, some ppl have lives, clearly the destiny community does not because they would rather spend their time in their hole collecting bullshit
Been playing since day 1 as well and I have around 30k shards legit. I'm okay with it but sucks that they going away
Edit: can always buy a lot of banners and stock up on glimmer

I have been living off of like 10 shards consistently the past year. 😂
So I’m guessing the best way to get rid of all these THOUSANDS of legendary shards is to simply buy as many Enhancement Cores as one can afford before Bungie takes away all of our shards?
Raid Banners too
Unfortunately theres a daily limit for cores
Also they are expensive
@@Barthaar do the rare armor method it’s infinite
just buy golf balls and crystals. cap the golf balls and crystals. buy the egg yolk every week and keep your glimmer capped.
3. Least but not last, this is about changing the game we know and love, changing the Economy and the meaning of it so they can INTRODUCE a new way to CHARGE YOU money.
60k shards for nothing hurts bad that's years of stockpiling gone

I hope we all have enough inventory and vault space for that

I have been passionately been saving shards for yrs now i started taking it serious around 12k shards i now have 28k saved up and never done a shard exploit ever and now after all that work there being removed and theres no currency exchanged for them too .... lovely ..... nothing like years of work being robbed from me because theres players out there that cheat.....great job bungie next time try pvp exploiters.....
They better increase how much glimmer we can hold because 250k aint enough.
Can we just remove the weekly cap for ascendant alloy so we can stock pile lol and put them in the vault and shit
Never did the shard farming method but still have 67k to get rid off😂
20k shards that I’ve earned legitimately over YEARS just wiped away with no way to exchange them. Bravo Bungie, bravo.👏🏻
Remove everything
Edit: I'm sick of Bungie taking apart the game for New Light players.
At this point make D2 a decision Game like Heavy Rain, Detroit become human, Beyond 2 Souls 😂😂
So basicly just killed the only usable titan exotics. 😢
Here come Silver Shards from Eververse, $100 per shard. Masterwork helmet costs 10 silver shards. Seems fair.
Destiny franchise has gone to crap now there are coming for legendary shards... it's pathetic move
We can't make the game better..so we will gate everything instead and force you to buy everything with cash..mobile game anyone.
The so-called excuse from Bungie is the biggest load of shit going...I going to enjoy the backlash inbound for them and it's well deserved
Super scummy move... Activision your student is now the master.
The young ahamkara nerf sounds like a nerf to pve rather than pvp. Trip mines are probably still gonna be good in pvp but probably useless in pve now
This is where the mk 44 stand asides come into the meta
Also, its time to bankrupt the cryptarchy
This is some major bullshit just because there are new players we need to get punished they literally saying ooh u didnt play the game until now oke right lets punish the veterans for that
So they remove shards…. And don’t increase glimmer cap…. So now there is no effective way buy glimmer at rahool…. I know glimmer isn’t rare, but the cap makes it so that whenever you do spend it a lot you have 0. Having shards meant you could just buy glimmer when you needed it. Now we have to farm public events
I'm more than willing to bet that this is the real reason for the change. Gotta get them engagement numbers up
Such such suchhhhh a L from bungie right when stuff was starting to go ok
What can we spend our shards on now, raid banners? 🤷🏼♂️
and make sure you are getting your weekly Alloy from Rahool and the daily max of Enhancement Cores
I would spend them on golf balls and alloys for 400 shards each

Looking forward to Checkmate. I'm interested in more primary play.
Nice, PvE YAS users are getting punished for a PvP problem.
this is going to break the economy. First in real life and now in destiny. Inflation is a real problem
That YAKS nerf hurts for PVE players 😔
How bout they increase glimmer to 500K plus increase vault space
Noooo you know how hard was to balance legendary shards. When the exalted truth was bugged I spent 8k legendary shards for a god roll(I never got one) took me till now to get back. I could of used em to focus. Noooo

Let’s talk about that a lot of the shards I got are from the season pass on the pay side. So a lot of the shards I have are paid for with real money
Exactly, they give you a shard boost you pay for. They butter give me real money because I paid real money.
Increase legendary shard drops. Remove glimmer 🤔
I could understand bungo doing this AFTER the Final Shape, as that essentially is the end of legacy Destiny 2. But why now? How many new players are there now for a nine-year old game?
Oh yea, they plan on maintenance mode after the final shape.
I hope we get a glimmer cap increase
There shouldn't even be a cap
So now when we run out of glimmer we have to farm it instead of turning shards into glimmer..

Its to eliminate destiny rich players, the only currency will have is glimmer witch has a cap. Its to force engament
No I doubt it. They’re just trying to make the game as casual friendly as possible before the final shape to be able maximize their sale on the expansion hence why we got leveling up weapons with materials and other changes.
If you remove the shards how is that going to make it harder for players? Make it make sense.

Well looks like I’m getting 1000’s of exotics from Xur this weekend
I’ve been waiting for luckys vid on this
so , until then just spent them on golf balls and aloys and masterwork gear and exotics , or buy all exotics from kiosk for those who dont have already all .. on the one hand, it's an ok thing, let's just stay with glimmer, but on the other hand, it's bad, because you could buy gilmmer with shards, those who have a lot of shards always do that :)) buy glimmer out of laziness :)) plus those exchange glimmer on shards, help to farm bountys, for those who wanted xp
