The flush mount GTR doorhandles we installed on this 1970 twin turbo LSX Chevelle may have made us go a little flush mount crazy. With the body lines improved down the side of the car, it's now time to focus on the front. The stock SS Chevelle windshield doesn't give the profile of this car the wow factor we're looking for, so we're doing some serious modifications to get a seamless look to the glass. There's a ton of cutting, welding, and metal shaping that needs to happen to get rid of all the trim and molding that the stock window frame used to hold the glass in place. Luckily we have Tim to take us step by step through the process. We're also shaping up our cowl and adding the last of the mesh inserts to our engine bay to cap off the episode.

Custom metalwork episodes are by far my favorite on here. Amazing work
word
We got a ton more coming for you soon too!
My favourite episode - I like watching the details that go into this car. This is some Foose level quality 👍
Same. not many other channels show this.
Another episode of the masters at work. Definitely, the spine would tie the front end to the bottom part of the windscreen.
Thanks so much for alway coming back to watch Siyabonga!
One of if not the best fabrication channels on RUclips. Great production quality! Enough detail without over complicating.
You saved me some cash with this one! I was looking to buy the front flush mounted glass for the convertible. I’ll save that money and put it elsewhere lol 😂
That’s what we’re here for, we are all ways keeping it real. Good and bad
Good shops attract good customers that let you craftsman do fantastic work = Proper!!!
We couldn't agree more!
Loving this build. hopefully no one drives that car in the rain after all that work
They can drive it in the rain. Just not with the window down though! lol
@@SalvagetoSavage ive had shaved drip rails... You gotta open the door too... Just saying ☔
@@SalvagetoSavage thanks for replying to my comment. No one ever does ❤️
Watching this on my phone. Making holiday on the East Sea. Usedom and enjoying your video. Thanks..
We appreciate the support
Ahhh man this just keeps getting better
Glad you like it!
I’m really interested in sending my Buick skylark to you 1971 gs 350 just to get the works done twin turbo all of the recessed glass ohhh man 🔥🔥🔥🔥 and to cut off those damn drip rails 💪🏽
Wow this is looking unreal. Great fab work Tim . The flush mount glass and custom vent/ metal work in engine bay is going to pop like crazy when it’s all painted up. Def one of kind build right here !
Thank you!
If this was my car, I would be stoked seeing the quality of the work you are doing. Mad props!
Thanks so much for the support! It's not worth doing if you're not doing it to the best of your abilities!
"Enough jibber-jabber", love it @Taylor Ray
We gotta get him back in the shop soon!
For sure! Love crossovers!
Mike let Tim know the line is not "cross that Bridge when I get there" it s "Burn that bridge when I get there" LOL Great work friend see ya soon
Lol, yah sometimes we get things a bit twisted. It’s not easy to work, while filming and talking on the spot. There is not rehearsal going on, trust me.
Sheeshhh 😳 your metal work is on a different level. This is insane
Thank you!
Dang, Tim ... I love it. Nice work, brother.
Thank you!
Such a small change and it made a world of a difference. Such clean work!
It's definitely one of those subtle things that if you didn't know what to look for, you'd definitely not notice it. But it will have you standing there wondering why the car looks so much better!
I just love the explaining all the steps and how to do stuff, I have no clue how to do any of that but you give me the confidence to want to start learning to weld and things, hands down my favorite youtube channel
We love hearing that! That's what we hope you guys feel after every video. Welding is definitely a great skill to have. We're going to start putting out a few welding tutorial videos soon too!
@@SalvagetoSavage that would be amazing!
What a quality job, custom metalwork is awesome
Thank you!
Tim! Hats off to you! great workmanship! The editor have the music on point! Mikey is getting his money worth!
That means so much to us here! We're stoked you like the build and the content and we really appreciate you subscribing!
Tim is a beast at fab man even when he’s doing something for the first time.
I think he even surprised himself with this one!
@@SalvagetoSavage i dont know why! He always pulls it off
I cannot believe with these level of builds that this isnt one of the biggest channels on youtube
We're just doing what we love and brining y'all along for the ride. We would really appreciate you sharing with your friends. But as long as you keep tuning in every week, we'll be here!
Just so freaking brilliant, its going to be bloody beautiful, great video guys 👍🏼👍🏼🇦🇺🇦🇺🦘🦘Cheers from Melbourne Australia
Thanks so much for watching and for the support!
You are not doing thing the easy way, but man! You are doing it the good looking way. I love this build.
A classic car with a kiss of modernization, perfection.
Glad you like it!
Great video I’ve been looking for something like this for a long time on RUclips now I could start on her windshield on my wife’s 73 challenger
Love to hear that we can help!! If you post any progress on Instagram make sure to tag us. We’d love to see your project
Always appreciate the tech tips, this build is easily my favorite thing to watch online right now!
We love to hear that! Thanks for all the support Josh!
I never realized this was a thing.. Probably just wondered why the car looked so damn good. Good video..
Thank you! It's definitely one of those small details that make a huge difference!
@@SalvagetoSavage I've been obsessed with damn flushmount windows since this video.. LMAO! Every finished car I see without them.. I'm like... Naaaahhh... LOL. I just learned about that and tucking bumpers and now you cant tell me anything.. LOL
You are supremely talented my dude.
Thank you!
Not a fan of the flushmount windows but i give respect where its due for the engineering and work involved in makeing things happen im going to hit the subscribe button now old sport!
Thanks so much for the support!
Wicked bit of fabrication, you have now joined my watch list with notifications.
Keep up the brilliant videos and stay safe.
Awesome, thank you! We really appreciate the support!
That’s is some serious fabrications 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Heck yea! I look forward to each video of the Chevelle!
Thanks so much for the support! Glad we can make your wednesdays a bit better!
You aren’t a fabricator- you’re an artist.
We really appreciate that!
I like those videos with lots of fabrication, sometimes your videos are just too fast, so I appreciate some slow down without being boring. Your skills and ideas are simply great, good job!
Glad you like them!
You guys do amazing work, it would have been much easier to call and go over these issues and we could have sent you a new part. We have sold 100s of these and occasionally the factory misses stuff when shipped. Obviously, we want the best quality glass available, and we strive for that. Even the factory glass will differ from part to part so they will never be the same. Make sure you leave the gap to fit all glass cause every part you get will be a different size as they are all hand laid and sanded so no two parts will be the exact same. Either way guys killer work and sorry we did not work out for you.
No hard feelings at all! There were just a series of events that had us going a different route. Maybe in the future, if we do another flush glass set up, we'll give you guys a call and get some Fesler glass on our build!
Tim the master. The force is strong with him!
The best channel RN not too much talking but working a lot. God bless ya
I don't know how you guys only have 166k subs. Your channel is amazing! Keep up the good work. I've loved seeing the S2SLA build and now this. The DeLorean build: bring it back!
You can watch Tim's left hand heal from the burn. Perfection takes time. Great progress!
Love seeing the process!
Be thankful for your skills set ,so any negative feedback or comments if any I would worry. Because today individuals will be about to do what you doing
Thanks for the support! People can share their opinions as much as they want, but at the end of the day, we're fabricating this stuff for our customers; not anyone else!
Great video! I've always wondered about how to flush mount the glass.
Can't wait to see what you guys do next
the cheapest most effective way to grind glass is with velcro diamond pads used for concrete counter tops. I own a glass shop and use them daily. They work wet or dry. use a 100 to remove the bulk then 200 to finish. for a nice look, run a 400 around the edge of the glass to polish it up.
Thanks for the heads up! We appreciate the tip!
Let's just talk about this serious Chevelle for a minute...😎
I love that look of the glass.
It definitely makes it look a whole ton sleeker!
Omg that is looking so sick. I love the flush glass. I'm definitely going to do this to my obs chevy.
Go for it!
I love seeing how this build is shaping up!
Thank you for doing these wonderful videos and sharing your beautiful artwork with us.
A modern dash would be great in this car
We have some pretty big plans for the interior of this car too!
@@SalvagetoSavage glad to hear it
Just wow. Soooo much attention to detail has gone into this build. Absolutely amazing as always 👌🏼
You guys are some of the cleanest most detailed incredible car building dudes on this planet!!! I love your videos
Wow, thanks! We're so stoked that you enjoy em!
My new favourite project to follow. You are a magician when it comes to metal work.. pleasure to watch you work
Glad you're doing the flush mount the right way 👍 like the rest of this build
“Enough jibber jabber”. Lol thanks Taylor Ray
Thanks for sharing, I’m looking at doing flush glass soon and this confirms what I hoped.
Glad we could provide some insight!
Did that same drip rail delete job on a '67 Firebird recently. Same issues with that seam sealer, but didn't have the lead because it was a brand new body built in 2021 using AMD body panels. Regardless, that seam sealer just wants to turn in to hot gas and blow holes in your weld. I ended up finally getting there by building up weld on weld and bridging the gap across holes. What a nightmare. On a different note, in the same way you used the sheet metal to thicken that newly create edge, a body shop I work with used 3/8" round stock underneath the edge. The negative space created between the curvature of the round bar and the flat sheetmetal of the roof was filled with weld. Man did it turn out great. What a great feel to it as well as you run your hand along that edge. Has a nice defined/hard look, with a soft feel. You might try some round bar next time you delete a drip rail.
That is some top notch fabrication work, impressive how that turned out, I always enjoy this channel. There is something about watching a professional at work.
This Build has been so damn inspiring!
Excellent job guys.
Thanks!!
Tim, that is really beautiful metal fab you continue to film for us to enjoy. S2S vlogs are great to watch, you explain what you’re doing and make things that are super hard look easy. Thanks to Mikey, you and the other folks at S2S.
Killer work gents. I think I m going to try that flush mount myself. Thanks for the tips...
Great work Tim! Cant wait to see that thing ripping!
We're excited to be one step closer to firing it up!
This is some of the best fabrication work on RUclips. Tim and the boys deserve way more views!
Your metal working skills are excellent, I learn something every time
We love to hear that!
This project is next level. You guys do absolutely amazing work.
Thank you!
I'd love to see the business side of S2S. Like how many hours you have into the build, cost, shop rate, etc... This build is amazing but I can only imagine the bill it has racked up!
Generally for builds like this, the customer would come with a general idea and a budget, and we'd show him or her the options of what's possible with the amount of money they'd want to put up!
@@SalvagetoSavage Damn. That’s pretty cool. So the owner of this build has some pretty deep pockets then lmao. Has it always been these types of builds? Or how did it start?
Amazing work 👏 🙌 👌
Thanks!!
Miranda is 100% on point, the "flush mount glass kits" is a gimmick... the factory glass is the way to go, much easier to replace down the road
I like how tim whilst grinding the lead just uses his teeshirt 😆 as facemask
Safety Second! Or however the saying goes! lol
Great episode!
Thank you 🙏🏻
Always great work!!
We really appreciate that!
Holy crap, after hearing about the flush mount glass kits I'm going to rethink my flush mount plans. I like the factory glass option a lot better than the the flush mount glass kit, save a lot on the pocket book. Definitely going to bring this up with my metal guy when I get my car to that point. I don't have the time, knowledge or tools to DIY the level of work I want. Now, if you guys are doing to do a side fill gas door into a fuel cell that would have all my box's checked. Keep up the amazing work, can't wait to see this one done.
Impressive work of art ! Keep it up .
My dream car, always loved this model, amazing job y'all I am lovin' it
Thanks so much!
Great work 👍👍
All the work you guys do is super sick can't imagine such things are possible but you make it happen every time good job fellas
Thank you!
Great video and workmanship👍👌
Glad you enjoyed it!
before i watch this.. thank you for showing us this. been looking for an idea to solve some missing window trim that i cant find replacements for
This definitely beats replacing the factor trim, in terms of looks!
Looks amazing!!
Thank you!
nice work guys
Thank you!! We're going to have an update on this build coming out very soon!
Your a magician Tim ! Love your work !!
Thank you! Cheers!
Wow Great work!!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
I feel like i say this every time but bro, you are so talented. All the work I've seen you do on this car has been incredible. Keep up the great work. God bless from Naples
We appreciate that! Thanks so much for watching!
Amazing as always
Thank you! Cheers!
That always looks great on a muscle car (flush mounted glass) I did a Chevelle for a guy back in '05 also removed the drip rail. Thing about doing that you usually lose all your trim which definitely changes the look some people would say in a negative way I think it looks better but that's just my opinion keep posting the progress guys good job
Thanks for the support! And going without the trim definitely changes the look a lot. It gives it some sleeker lines that make it look a whole lot more modern.
@@SalvagetoSavage most definitely. I really like the flush mounted glass look personally but I also like the stock windshield with the chrome trim as well
Good show Tim
Amazing Work!!! In shop class I missed opportunities to learn how to measure. : (
"enough jibber jabber" It looks like Taylor Ray is rubbing off on you!
Looking real good 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Excellent content man it’s always a pleasure watching your work 👍
Much appreciated! Thanks for watching!
Awesome work, wish that baby was being built for me!
Thats really cool!
Thank you! Glad you liked it!
On the seam sealer use a propane torch to melt it out first 🤘👍 been doing it for years
Absolutely Badass
S2S to a supplier: We need something custom...
Supplier: Sorry we cant do that
S2S: Fine we'll just do it ourselves...
At some point we'll learn to stop asking and just do it ourselves from the jump!
Man that things lookn really good.
Thank you!
@@SalvagetoSavage no problem. Needed something good to watch get my mind off things.
You all do amazing work. You need to open a branch in Orlando, FL. ASAP! lol
Lol, that’s what trailers are for, only 2 1/2 hrs away
@@SalvagetoSavage Aw damn. I didn't realize you were that close. Might have to drop in on you all. lol
Sweet sweet work done my friend. That is going to be an awesome car when your done
very nice work! love the 70 chevelle- this car will look great I hope you're doing some grill/facia work!
We're definitely going to give the front a bit of a face lift!
I'm going to figure out what I need to dok flush mount my 67 Chevelle factory glass. Thx for the ideas.
It's definitely not an easy or quick process no matter how you tackle it. Just make sure you're all filled up on patience before you start! lol Best of luck with the project!
@@SalvagetoSavage its all been a test of my patience, but in a good way. I'm doing things I wouldn't normally do.
