- Special note This bus was one sick, sick ride. The turbo backfire is like nothing I have ever heard before, very loud and sharp. This bus was such a gem, simply the best Series 50G I have ever, ever ridden. Bus fan buddy and First Transit worker Jake and myself had such a fun day riding buses in LA, and Long Beach, but this one made the day!!! Turbo sneeze - teh, teh, teh, teh, teh, teh.
2002 Orion V (05.501)

Foothill Transit F1200-F1265
Recorded Jan 6, 2014 Express Route 699 early am run.
I could listen to this all day long and not get bored of it
🤣 dude this sounds like a VL TURBO! if all buses sounded like this I'd take them more often!
Ohhhhh my god!!!!!!! That sounds amazing!!!!!!
Certainly a great sounding bus. Great video.
It sure is bro
ohh boi.. this busdriver must have one hell of a ride all day long xD
I never got the chance to ride an Orion V, but encountered some NFI C40LF busses with this same recipe. 5301-5304, 5469, 5404, 5495. Best NFI C40LF's in the metro fleet
Great video man, this bus blew me away with that backfire!!!
This is the best thing i've ever heard
Great bus. Salem Oregon has these busus.
Talk about turbo backfire indigestion. Whistling something fierce!
Great video and sound. I wish Detroit Diesel was still in the transit game of transit bus engines...Cummins suck to me
I Found The Foothill Transit Orion V Bus F1223 Commuter Express Route 498 To Express DownTown LA
The diesel version sounds gruffier 3

Cool
There was a bus at MTA (NYC) that sounded just like this.
It appears video responses don't exist anymore, so I'll just link it here: /watch?v=QqK2ANt9zF8
What happened to these buses are they still with foothill and what engine do they have?
These buses are retired now!
Sounds 10x better then a LFA
they both sound just as good
