    I would like to tell you something. In 1977, when I arrived in UK, the customs officer look at my Canadian passport and told me : Welcome Home. It is the feeling that I had when I was in UK. It is my home like Canada is my home too. We are a kind of brothers and sisters even if we live in two different countries separated by an ocean. The members of the RCMP represent well the kind of special bond between Canada and UK.

      FYI, when honest, scrupulous, and faultlessly law-abiding families move to RCMP-prowled areas, we learn within months that the RCMP ALWAYS side with evidently guilty numbers, and the evidently guilty numbers have the confidential ear and co-operation of the dishonest RCMP. Honest, law-abiding, clean-living, RCMP-untouched locals here suffer horrendous RCMP-led-and-fed crimes, abuses, and cruelty whilst any of us are home alone in or on our lawful, unsullied domestic ground. My spotless, law-abiding, faultlessly honest, fair, and just late mother, Burdette, a multi-award-winning private-sector social justice advocate, researcher, and writer, was criminally bullied, harassed, menaced, and illegally threatened by filthy government-favoured local folks, with the most prevalent offenders being socially sanctioned, government-protected RCMP, which are the only criminals/lawbreakers/wrongdoers EVER to be on our properties and to illegally and dishonestly harm and wrong us. Only them: always them. With RCMP 'serving and protecting', crimes and abuses committed by them are handled by them and covered up by them. And this leads to ongoing offenses against us on our clean family turf to remind us to NEVER work toward better times or to believe better times are possible. Please be more astute and educated in your travel-focussed view of our RCMP-damaged homes and families here. AW, Chester Basin, Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia, Canada

      When I was joining the Royal Navy the year before - in '76, during my interview, there was a Canadian boy of my age who had travelled over to join. I was quite struck by his effort and I hope everything went OK for him. I wish I had said Hi to him.
      Yes, we are two countries separated by an ocean - but we have a common history and I think that should be cherished. We have fought many wars together and we have both been enriched as a result

    I remember as a child in London 1953 - Queen's coronation. Commonwealth troops were mounting guard at Buckingham Palace. No way we could persuade our dad to take us up to see them. Then one day he came home from work and said - "Get your coats on, we're going up to the palace" "why who's there?" - The MOUNTIES!

    This is a good thing for the RCMP to be in her majesty’s country. It is good for Canada to have that connection to the mother country and being loyal to the crown. I said some bad thing about Canada. Bad things are to the Canadians who don’t care about people from other countries and treat them like dirt. They don’t care, not all, about them all being British subjects. I have nothing but respect for the real Canadians who care about their British heritage and the connection to the United Kingdom. All I have to say is God Save The Queen/King. Long live the children of the commonwealth.

    • @Wandering_Canuck
      @Wandering_Canuck 4 года назад +1

      A little history is in order. The RCMP are always in Her Majesty's country! At home, they are in the Kingdom of Canada, a separate and distinct monarchy from that of the United Kingdom. Her Majesty reigns in Canada as Queen of Canada, just like she reigns as Queen of Australia and Queen of New Zealand. Canadians, Aussies and Kiwis have not been British subjects for some time. I am a 5th generation Canadian of 100% British descent, and proud of my heritage, but I am not British. I am a Canadian citizen. The majority of Canadians today are not of British descent, but we are all Canadians. Canada belongs to the Commonwealth of Nations (NOT the British Commonwealth, which has not existed since 1946). So yes, this Canadian says God save the Queen, long may she reign!

    • @newmanchester8504
      @newmanchester8504 4 года назад

      You are a 5th generation Canadian of 100% British descent. You are proud of your heritage. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) are always in Her Majesty's country! At home, they are in the Kingdom of Canada, which is separate and distinct monarchy from that of the United Kingdom. Her majesty Queen Elizabeth II reigns as Queen of Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
      Forgive me for my ignorance, sir. I didn't mean to be disrespectful. Canada belongs to the Commonwealth of Nations. Canadians, Aussies and Kiwis have not been British subjects for some time and the majority of Canadians today are not of British descent, but you and them are all Canadians. That is true. I knew what you were taking about, but I was off on what I was saying. Canadians who live in your country are of American descent (white American descent), Black Canadians (descendants of African American slaves) Haitians, Jamaica and Africans from African countries. Canadians today come from other countries and are descendants from people from other countries. You have people from the UK living in your country, Australians from Australia and Americans from my home country of the United States living in your country. I heard that there aren't that may Canadians of British descent living in provinces like British Columbia and others. I am not British, but I am an African American of Irish, Sierra Leonean (Black African) and Japanese. I've been to Canada. Victoria, British Columbia. It is a beautiful British-style city full of trees, flowers, The British Columbia Parliament Buildings and a nice hotel. Canada is a beautiful country and I would have it on my list to visit it again. This province has the great British heritage just like the rest of Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
      There is a nurse who is a Kiwi from New Zealand. I see her before I see my doctor, who is from India. She is a nice old lady with a pageboy bob, wears eyeglasses and has blonde hair. I was ignorant about her country and England to her. I am sorry. The education system in my country is broken and worthless. I am learning about things online to better myself.
      Thank you for the history lesson. I can't say God Save The Queen because I am an American. One day people are going to say God Save The King because Prince Charles is going to be King. Again, I am sorry for my ignorance.

      There's actually a reason why they wore red and yours wore blue, because originally policing in urban areas was usually the job of volunteer watchmen, and many in england believed that a police force would be a tool of government oppression, like the french police (at the time), that's why english police don't carry firearms around (usually),the reason police wore blue was because red was a military colour, and blue is the opposite of red, the point was to make police look as un-military as possible, the RCMP (or at the time, the North West Mounted Police) was a paramilitary force, back then, police in rural areas were mainly concerned with highwaymen (or more specifically in north america, Natives), many rural police forces back then, were military units (such as the French Gendarmerie) so that's why they wore red uniforms, because again, red was a military colour, and they were seen as being more paramilitary then civilian. Just a little history lesson for you, good day lad (from Canada).

      I believe the RCMP are taught to ride in the same style as the Household Cavalry. Consequently, when they "borrowed" the big black horses of the Household Cavalry the animals immediately understood the instructions given by their Canadian riders. So, I guess the RCMP also has the same moves when on foot as the HCB.

      The RCMP looking good in London, as it looks like the Horse Guards Parade on Whitehall? Which if so they are in effect doing the same guard routine as the Household Cavalry Troopers and visiting guard units are normally rehearsed by the Guards SNCO's beforehand, that way everyone gives their best! But if the UK govt cuts the army still more then they might be looking for more "volunteers" from around the Commonwealth to do all the Changing of the Guard and Trooping the Colour Ceremonies! 😆

    Highly impressive, regardless of some disparaging comments. One point confuses me: the lady NCO ordered "By the right dress", then "Eyes front", at variance with my training as a sea cadet. I was trained to wait after "Right dress" for the order "Eyes front". For the order "By the right, dress", one "eyes fronted" following the man on one's right. Is this variant RCMP-specific terminology?

      They probably have slightly different drill then a military unit (because they are civilian), unless they are going on parade under the command of a military officer...even then the commands would be fairly easy to follow without much practice if you are used to drill.

    • @grnhrntskato
      @grnhrntskato 7 лет назад +2

      It is "eyes right" then "dress". Shuffle around until you are dressed off on the Right Marker or person to your right. Once done, the command is "eyes front".

    • @AdamHWarren
      @AdamHWarren 7 лет назад +1

      Thank you for clarifying that point. As I thought, the precise drill commands differ slightly between Britain and Canada. I subscribe to the substance of Strikeagle911's comment, that we should be appreciative of men and women who risk life and limb in the service of others.

      Britanicus clarkson drill’s not for everyone, and thank God that is not his main job. I agree that he should have lengthened the calls, looked like they were in a rush.

    • @Ben_Hughes
      @Ben_Hughes 4 года назад

      @Britanicus clarkson Mounties are not a military combat force, at best they could be described as a para military organization. This is due to their history as military police officers in I believe the first world war and the boar wars( I could be mistaken). However, now they are a pure civilian organization. I am very proud of our RCMP. Hopefully I didn't misunderstand your comment, and your right the drill commands were off and I think the Mountie who was taking the salute for the mounted unit failed to salute the inspecting officer.

    • @canadianhayseed
      @canadianhayseed 4 года назад +1

      I think you're trying to say the one member at 3:40 didn't have a "straight hat" and it was missed during inspection? The stetson is suppose to be on a slight angle tilted to the right. Also in regards to the cord/lanyards at 4:51, the one is simply stuck looped inbetween the holster and belt. It is correctly attached either by clip or loop to the holster instead of the end of the magazine (assuming they didn't carry in England). I'd be more concerned about the early salute by upper brass but that's just me.
