Dude I don't want to make you feel bad or anything, but I think you got ripped off. From what I seen, the emulation on the Neo Geo Mini works while the Playstation Classic has way more slowdowns and with the PAL versions not helping the issue. I rather just continue playing my modded PSP 3000 for Playstation 1 games or use my PC. If I wanted to have a classic console, I would grab a Odroid XU4 or a Raspberry Pi 3 and build my own Playstation 1 Classic. Those are better deals and solution to the Playstation 1 Classic. Well if you can hack or soft mod the Playstation Classic, then that would be a different story, for now, it's not worth $100.
Just ordered mine. Played the international one quite a bit. Never even seen a original neo geo home console so I can't compare. However I can say it's a 1000 times better than the PS one mini that showed up yesterday.
i wish we got this game selection and overall package with the normal color scheme. id have gotten it despite the flaws just for the game lineup..... but i absolutely hate the colors.
the red was good because to the US fans, it's reminiscent of the American MVS cabinets. My only gripe is the overuse of gold. It makes you ponder if this was custom made for Tony Stark (a.k.a. Iron Man)
It has some games not available in the Japan set : King of Monster, Fatal Fury 1, Fatal Fury 2, Fatal Fury 3, Fatal Fury Realbout Special, Savage Reign 1, Soccer Brawl, Super Sidekick, But missing out mainly on King of Fighters 94, 95, 96, 2003

I watched Ben Heck's mod of the Neo Geo mini and it had RX and TX on the board. He connected it to RS232 serial and got a Linux terminal out of it. However he did not know how to bypass the root password. However, I do. If I had a system, I could boot into single user mode, and change the password. Once inside the Linux system, it can easily be modded.

I bought the mini arcade and am very pissed at SNK right now. I have looked everywhere for one controller...and I cant find one. I actually own an AES, MVS candy cab (full and working), and a CDZ and yet...no controllers. Oh and the micro HDMI is just too stupid for words. Why did it not come with a proper HDMI out port. Alas at least this thing is heads and shoulders above that PlayStation mini abortion (I bought one too).
I recently bought king of fighters 99 off the switch eshop and am very disappointed that it doesn’t even come with the full game, does this console come with the full experience? Any help would be appreciated

I wonder if there is a way to rip the roms off that are Japanese only releases that SNK translated for this device (such as Twinkle Star Sprites). That would be dope. I'm still not getting this, not because I don't like the games... but I would have much rather this just been a Mini AES... I would have rather them saved the money from the screen and just gave us some clicky controllers. Who knows... maybe down the line they will do that. Glad they got Magician Lord and Super Spy on this. The Twinkle Star Sprites translated is a big deal.
I have the Japanese edition of this. If you adjust the language on the games to English, you get sweat for blood on games like Samurai Showdown and Metal Slug. Even King of Fighters 98 cuts out Mai's bounce on English. Change it to Japanese, and her bounce battle stance returns. I bet you can make the blood come on Metal Slug X etc. Give it a try!

However you can save your spot via ''memory card'' (this does not apply with Shock Troopers since it never had an AES port)

My first "mini console" I bought was the Neo Geo mini, just because it was shaped like a mini arcade. I'm a big arcade fan with 11 full size arcade machines, not the midget 1up arcade cabinets lol but I'd loved to pick up this it's just priced way to much even if it is Limited edition.. so I may pick up the Nintendo and Sony minis just because of the "collectablity" of them.
I’m good. I have the jp version and it sucks because there are no fatalities in samsho v special. That’s a $1000 game minimum for the MVS and $6000 for an unfixed AES copy to see those finishing moves aside from the ps4 port. Not sure why this game is still being watered down with an official release. The mini is cool for a few minutes. But I prefer my full MVS cabinet for the nostalgia.
When I saw the initial photos for this, I absolutely HATED the gold. Now? I merely strongly dislike it. What would really look awesome is if they took the red cabinet, and used the stick, colors, and panel and marquee stickers from the first Japanese version.
Sounds GREAT on paper but looks like it is VERY cheaply made. That movement stick on the controller looks for example like the gold coating /paint will rub or peel off. I have NOT experienced one in person so I very well could be wrong. IF the videos are any indicator of it's quality though than I just can't see dropping the cash on one of these OR it's lower priced basic version.
I'm sorry but until they can get it right & give us the OG Red and white arcade version they are all poop lol. I'd paint this one that way if I got it as a gift. IMO Raspberry Pi w/custom Neo Geo case all the way
Something to think about, the way I play neo geo, I got an arcade works omega CVS. There a little pricey (529 dollars) but it's way cheaper then the aes in the long run. Metal slug is under 100 bucks unlike 500 plus on the aes. I have a 168 games in one cart. It has an sink board in it and it uses your aes controllers.
You and other RUclipsrs have shit on these a lot. But you own all three versions! Just admit outside the price these are really cool little units. I don’t care about the controller or tv output issues, I’ve played this way more than my NES/SNES CLASSIC’s. (I own three as well btw)

Yep, the neo geo, would be a very niche thing, but if your into it, its your money if you want to buy such things. We in our lifes, have been affected by many things, and what we all like, is affected by many things. You should not have to defend yourself liking a neo geo, if those games, have some sort of value for you playing, so what what others think about it.
