James' voice, for a man in his 60s is insane. It's almost like he's found his higher range from the early Metallica days. The fact it's Metallica meets Ac/Dc, meets Motörhead, meets punk, meets old thrash, meets heavy rock WITHOUT a thinly veiled reskin of old Metallica is just *Chef's kiss

Balance on earth has been restored!! Metallica new music!!! Oh wow, they have basically wrote the soundtrack to my life, been a fan since my early teens, 13 to be precise! Which by my reckoning is over 35 years! Literally first time I saw them at age 15 was just mind blowing! Seen them 60 times since and they are still on top of their game!! Incredible live band. So this new song is just exceptional, Kill em All type riff immediately sprang to mind, maybe a little tip of the hat to Diamond Head but just different enough to say, yeah definitely Metallica and definitely can't wait to hear it live. One more important fact about Metallica, I saw The Darkness because of them! Dublin 03? Anyway, great video and great song! Cheers
Lol finally somebody gets it. People are making comments everywhere "Lars' drumming sounds so clean!" Yeah, no shit, it's a fucking STUDIO RECORDING lmao. We all know shit's gonna be sloppy as hell live, especially the double-bass (although I would be fucking ELATED to be proven wrong by Lars).

My brother got me into Metallica when I was 8 almost 25 years ago. Every year he would buy me merch or something metallica for Christmas. He died this past year and this album or song came out a week before his birthday. I think it’s a sign.
Yes the last two studio albums (2008, 2016) have predominantly been back in E, after a few years in Eb and an an album in DropC. Going back to E was a Rick Rubin idea.

@@gibfear The last two albums have been decent, this comment would have made more sense after St Anger.
Yay! Speed metal! This sounds like it could be off of Garage Days Revisited. Hellyeah!
I don't like Metallica's music, but I think James is wonderful. I'm definitely a self-described fan because of how real he is about his own struggles.
He's like the biker dad we never had
Well then, you need to try harder to like his music! Lol🤘🏻
Sounds absolutely lovely!
Starts out thrashy from the go!
Very cool, I get like British punk 2000 vibes in the best way from this. He IS sounding fantastic. Lars is doing a Steve Hewitt in Sleeping with ghosts type thing, I just get lots of similar vibes from it.
Hubby agrees Motorhead for sure.
That guitar has fat shoulders!
Much love to you Mr. Hawkins
I must INSIST on acquiring one of those sweaters.
Where from? Lol I want one too
Live from Rab C Nesbit’s living room. Love it Justin 😂 welcome to Scotland 🏴
This is such a great song. Great reaction vid.
Motorhead, Diamondhead and kill em all into one.
Right at that moment when Justin remarks, "IT'S AWESOME!!!" You know he's floored. :)
The things I’d give to be mentored by you, dang… your musical intellect and presence is second to none!
Fabulous, a Scottish writing retreat! Need a new Darkness song called, Fiddly Dee, Fiddly Dee now. Hope Frankie feels at home, Happy St Andrew's Day to all x
James sounds good, doesn't he? The song's great! 🎶💜🤘
06:15 yes! its a china cymbal, and its lars's signature sound, he replaced the ride cymbal for a china in the early 2000`s some people dont like it, but i personally found it amazing and i think thats what makes lars drumming unique. and there also a million memes about lars using a china instead of a ride.
A Chinese Ride.. should be called a Tuk Tuk
Metallica new one is fkin heavy and fresh, and I did hear riffs like hit the lights...love it can't wait for the album 72 seasons.
My brother got me into Metallica when I was 8 almost 25 years ago. Every year he would buy me merch or something metallica for Christmas. He died this past year and this album or song came out a week before his birthday. I think it’s a sign.
Thank you Justin. My thoughts exactly! "Sounds like Metallica doing Motorhead."
Yes the last two studio albums (2008, 2016) have predominantly been back in E, after a few years in Eb and an an album in DropC. Going back to E was a Rick Rubin idea.
Reminds me of KILL 'EM ALL as much as anything. The Motorhead influence that was a big part of KEA is definitely there. Cool!
Diabolical in the best way indeed. Great video again sir.
Thank you!
Holding-off before coming in on that final chorus was an epic choice! Such a tease
Anyone else get a sense of Diamond Head's "It's Electric" from this song? I know lots of Metallica fans will be familiar with that one from the cover they did of it on Garage Inc.
I was so hoping you'd cover the new Metallica! Both the band and you never disappoint!
Love it when you go into the Alan Partridge voice, verry funny! Thanks for another great reaction!
Reminds me of Hit the Lights.
As soon as you mentioned Scotland you got a like from me 👍 beautiful place. Bon Scott approves 😁👍
Ps. James and the boys just get better and better....... Love this one 💪
( Unfortunately, nothing can beat Motorhead's false ending from overkill (gravedigger have an excellent go tho)
Lux Aeterna, the new family saloon from Vauxhall!! Possibly the best reviewery-type line of any thrash track ever!!
‘It’s like Metallica doing Motörhead’ yes! That’s what I immediately thought when I listened to it!
That snare sound is both new and old at once! Hope that is used through out the album
"Metallica doing Motörhead" is exactly the impression I had! 😁
When I saw it yesterday, I thought Wow it's like Metallica suddenly remembered who they are again several albums later, not that the previous don't have a place of course but this suits them best
Death Magentic started the turnaround. Hardwired, felt more polished and to the point. This sounds like the next step
I wanted to love it, and am so glad I didn't have to try !!! I saw them w/ Cliff open for Ozzy when I was 16... NOW when are you going to talk about RAMMSTEIN ??? Especially since they are retiring and their last two "final" albums ? I'm so happy you are still amazing and funny and a serious musician as well. And our pibble Murphy is in love with Jussy's Girl. XOXO - Cat
2 great musical minds collide - Rick Beto is reviewing this today too ❤
Sounds great - so nice of them to do "Hit the Lights" again
Welcome to Scotland, Justin. Have fun.
Hope you're enjoying your stay in Bonny Scotland!
Best Metallica song I have heard in a long time! Not bad at all. I will also add that THAT sweater is stunning
New Metallica album and Pantera is Playing again with Zakk and Charlie filling in for Dime and Vinny... and they will be playing a tour together... it just all makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside 💗 🤘
Man, with so much shit going on at the moment, getting a surprise Metallica song yesterday was the perfect remedy!! 🤘🏻
Great break-down, as always, Jussy.
Cheers mate
Went to see Metallica during The And Justice For All tour,1 of the greatest concerts I've been to, Birmingham NEC, probably late 80s, Maybe early 90s, I was a teen my mates stayed back at the end,got to meet them, had a beer, jacket signed,I was gutted I didn't stay behind, I thought they'd be wasting Their time, they were truly awesome, can't believe I sold my vinyl, I had picture discs of kill em all everything, I sold that for £30 back in the 90s so I can't imagine what' it's worth now as They were rare anyway
Just seen the title and wanted to say Justin your awesome 🤟
Oh, I was SO waiting for this reaction. Excited to let your enthusiasm infect my own.
