For the non-swedes we have a joke that applies to all the scandinavian/nordic countries. We hate Norway, Denmark and Finland and sometimes the norwegians, danish and finnish joke back saying they hate Sweden. (we dont hate Iceland)

I don’t think Swedes have any problems with Chinese people. Many do however dislike the Chinese regime. Especially the Chinese ambassador in Sweden, who’s behaved very rude towards Swedish officials and who doesn’t respect civil liberties like freedom of expression. It all started when China abducted the Chinese-Swedish publisher Gui Minhai who had published books critical of the communist party.

I am an American but my mother is from Sweden and my father is from Canada. I have worked and lived in Sweden. You can't say that American's aren't genuine, that is taking millions of people and lumping them all into one. There is good and bad everywhere.

I am from Turkey. I recently arrived home from a week of visit to Stockholm. Before going, i was a bit nervous about Sweden.So many issues about politics. Besides i had an image that Swedish people are a bit cold or reserved. But i understood that was absolutely nonsense.I didnt see anything disrespectful or racist that I unfortunately faced in Berlin and Rome before. People of Sweden are so sensible, warm and friendly. I fell in love with Stockholm. Södermalm, Gamla Stan, Norrmalm, Djurgarden and other places were just beautiful. I love you Sweden.

I'm Swedish but live in Thailand since 8-9 years and now I'm the different one. When and if I ever go back home I'm going to think twice when I say something about immigrants. It's not easy being a foreigner. And I'm pretty much better of than the average immigrant coming to Sweden.

You don't hate a country. However, you can hate the political system in a country - there are plenty of dictatorships in the world. There may also be cultures where you don't like certain aspects of them, but that is not necessarily tied to a specific country.

Generally speaking: good answers to a bad question
It was a humorous question! His entire interaction with those people was relaxed, permissive, not angry or confrontational. just looking for funny, quirky clickbaity answers, and to be honest MOST of the comments and commenters seem to be bantering in a fun lighthearted way! So this is how most people seem to have viewed this.
Being Chinese living in Sweden, it feels like that “I don't like the Chinese” part is quite real. (Carelessly confounding a country and people from there is rather wrong too.) You almost see it from the way they look at you these days - most likely because of covid, but also possibly larger than that. And once you see the negative vibe, you can't unsee it.
- To be clear, I'm probably talking about less than 1% of the people here. And people are mostly likely in a dire financial or mental situation to have a strong feeling as hate towards anyone or anything. I can only wish things will be fine again after covid.
I haven't experienced that bit if i am out with my international friends and we speak english, the angry looks are plenty. The thing is swedes are scared of confroting yet, at the same time, very judgemental which creates a quite hostile environment, especially if you aren't an introvert. Also with covid, their fear of change shows more than ever

I love Sweden, I've been there for almost two years and I miss it. And I'm italian :P Still, I love living in the middle of a forest, I could see a lot of wild animals there, which doesn't happen here that often. Plus, in summer is definitely too hot here, while in Sweden is perfect and in winter is cold but it's completely manageable. It's colder here in the North of Italy because of the humidity, it makes you feel like it's way more cold

I've heard a lot of criticisms of Americans, but "they're not genuine" is a new one. In fact, a more common criticism of Americans is that they're *too* genuine, tend to display emotions too openly, etc.
That they're not genuine is one of the most common criticisms of Americans you'll hear in Europe, precisely because of the emotions you mention coming off as vapid, shallow, and forced. Americans will for instance use the word ''friend'' in a much looser way than a northern European, say ''how are you?'' but then really just mean ''hello'', and say ''we should totally hang out sometime'' but then really just mean ''bye''. We prefer frank and direct communication. There's also the weird duality of America having this unconvincing veneer of geniality and there seemingly bubbling so much aggression underneath, like people getting offended personally if you disagree with them on something because they interpret it as an attack on their person rather than of their opinion.

I hear a lot about bad swedish weather, the lack of the sun but I was in Sweden two times - in May and in November - and the weather was very good. Someone says that Sweden is grey - I think it's green :) Maybe it's a little boring when you drive across Sweden - forest, forest and sometimes red houses - but it that forests there is a wonderful nature. Some animals like that big black grouse (i forgot its English name) is common in Swedish forest but in my country is very rare. .

I'm American and 63 years old. I'm finding it very difficult to like the United States, culturally, politically.
@truong trinh vu I have to disagree. America's culture is always changing but it's certainly developed. I wouldn't equate a lack of history with a lack of culture. American culture has spread all over the globe through music, cinema, literature, technology etc etc... In my opinion American culture is the most consumed and emulated culture on earth.
@truong trinh vu I'm a US citizen and I agree. We don't have any cohesive culture probably because our citizens came from all over the world. Some countries you work to live and others you live to work. The US is capitalist with some socialist (small safety net). The individual is on his own here and it can be brutal place to live. In 60 years I have never seen so many homeless people in our major cities. We have our successes and failures too. In a global depression your far better off living on a self sustaining farm and far away from the big cities.

I thought I had a country I did not like, but then I was forced to go back there everything was really nice. It was Ecuador. The Ecuadorian cities Salinas and Guayaquil was horrible and I did not get any conversations. But later on I had to go back and meet a friend. Then we traveled around and the country was so different then my first impression. When I was young I had a negative prejudices Polish people. But after visiting Poland I love it and I have today many Polish friends. So be careful about criticizing countries. We are all a big bouquet of beautiful flowers. Some people do not like Russia because of the anti-russian propaganda in the news.
Because my work I have been to all Continents (unless for Antartic because I said no, and surelly I regreat that!) and anywhere you absolutely find great people an great culture. There is no country in this pleanet which has nice things to offer. Please, do not mistakea a country by their politicians, they are (with few exceptions) really neasty people.

As a Swede I could easily live in Norway (If it wasn't for their food. For example: "Köttekaker med tyttebaer"). Gulp! All Nordics Are Great Countries and quite similar.
If you go as as a tourist, most of the countries / cities welcomes you... But if you are staying for a longer time, many of them will treat's you as an outsider...this can happen in your home country too, if you stays in a different province than your's..
As a Swede the country I dislike the most is probably North Korea due to their governments inhumane treatment of the population.

It's a "natural" country you can go hiking camping visiting museeums natural parks theme parks you can practice your winter sports or you can always enjoy a fika with your friends and loved ones. If you mean in comparation to USA there is not much craziness yes I agree but without the craziness sweden is in top 5-10 best countries in the world it's peaceful and safe. I'm half swedish half american. I don't know where you live if you live in northern cities yeah you probably don't have much to do but in the south you have a lot to do. This series has helped me reconsider my viewpoints on a few things. Some cultures are perhaps a bit more rustic than I would like, or the politics of a certain place might be hostile to one or more of the demographics to which I belong, but I think most of the people all around the world are fundamentally good-natured.
I find America tolerable, but I haven't been anywhere else so I don't really know any better or any worse. Maybe after this international crisis calms down I'll be able to visit some other places and make a more informed decision. I have been talking with some very close friends of mine about visiting Ireland, France, and Japan. In no particular order.

This is why most Europeans protest openness and integration with other peoples and learning about their culture. The only country I hate is Sweden, and their bad treatment of tourists, that's all.

I have to say that the couple said they don’t like Chinese and Thailand, I can tell that they are from lower classes in Sweden, where they also encountered some similar lower-class Chinese, but most of the Chinese overseas are well-educated in recent years, so I think they has the bias based on their class.
