But its not American and thats a huge issue for me. Logistically, but also it makes me want to puke to enrich a nation like Germany that hasnt even attemped to carry their load with NATO and jumps into bed with the Russians, Iranians and any other scumbags and come crying to us to bail them out (again and again). No German company should get a dime of US defense dollars
Just build new Bradley’s and stick the 50mm gun on top of it, or better yet just go up the the 30mm gun that is in the A10 Warthog. It’s seems to do a damn fine job against modern armour to include tanks.
Well, 50 is too much against enemy's infantry and for anti-drones system. 35 is enough. Less weight, more ammunition, gun speed is better too. 85 angle it is good against drones and high buildings/mountains . 2 member in team its better. Unmanned turret is must. It is good idea that cabin for infantry will be able to transform per mission ( converted for place to extra ammunition ) .
continuesly 360 degree view night and day vision would be a major plus for the driver to see dangerous situations and try to avoid them like ambusches or even terrain like getting stuck in a ditch while under fire. the role of vehicle commander and driver could possible be combined to a singel person and yes i was in the army at a training center in the netherlands
I think the future of US/NATO will be Rheinmetall, as they already make the PUMA , the Leopard, & the Lynx... As they're already working with France to make new armored vehicles, it wouldn't be unthinkable that they will cooperate with the UK & US, to make even better unified armored vehicles soon, to counter threats on the horizon...
Make it simple, upgradable and at least partially modular to be able to carry out multiple missions. The reason why the M113 is still in service around the world, including the USA are these reasons. You can sell it for cheap or you can upgrade it to do whatever you like. The Bradley is at the crossroads of that point where cost can overcome usefullness. The US military should take this into account- If you need a company hired contractor there to repair or replace systems on the vehicle, apart from secret, top secret, trade secret modules, you have made the wrong vehicle. It shouldn't take a team of specialist and THEN an entire MOS field of mechanics to get a vehicle up and running. Also, a vehicle's combat performance shouldn't be undone simply because some of its high-speed systems were knocked out by a stray HMG bullet. Vehicles need to be reliable, fixable, easy to operate and easy to upgrade. This allows for all ranges of export variants and decades of service without the need of an overly complicated logistics line.
As a German, I wish Rheinmetall good luck for winning the competition. What I do not understand is, why the US do not join the France / German MGCS program. Looking afterwards how and if the IFV demands have changed, developing their IFV afterwards. Choosing German Puma (my be with a different turret configuration) in the meantime. This is an up to date, fully developed and reliable system. Best of all, it is developed for airlift and rapid deployment, which could be very useful in this times.
@@Porter92no they haven’t chosen yet but I think they will pick general dynamics because it’s using the same body as the new booker and will probably be cheaper and lighter.
@@Ric33194 Commonality is what holds the US back very often. Lets remember that anti air tank that was chosen despite being crap. But i agree, sometimes it makes sense
It states in this video, that the new main gun is a 50 caliber, shouldn't that be a 50mm instead to be absolutely correct as it said it was twice the size of the 25 mm main gun of the Bradley IFV?
Finally the army deciding to go hybrid on the engine power and consumption. Definitely it will help with range and more flexibility to get more range and coast more silently at slower speeds.
I hope the arrogant generals can pull their heads out of their arses . They really need to stop changing their minds. It doesn’t need every new gizmos.
I love 💕 the new BOOKER light tank, so I definitely 😁 love the new proposals, especially the diesel hybrid models. I love the Jet engine design propulsion, but, that's for MAJOR DESTRUCTION! Some tanks don't need all that horsepower to complete a mission. I'm just glad that the Military is being versatile in their arsenal selections. Anyways, thanks for the video 📸.
well, the US should have bought Puma when it entered serivce. Puma is in Service for almost 10 years by now and currently the best system on the market. This wont really change over the next 20 years unless someone builds something revolutionary. Bradley Replacement starts to look alot like the british CVRT Replacement / FRES Program. Now 30 years after the start of the FRES Program the first systems are delivered, (Boxer APC´s) while the other component still is not ready (Ajax) and full combat readieness is expected around 2030. So 40 years after the Programm started...
A Bradley M2 IFV is not as capable as a tank. Are you crazy. 105mm or 120mm tank rounds are a lot more powerful than a 25mm autocannon. The tank is an iron fist for armored soldiers, while the Bradley is a limp wrist by comparison. The tank outranges the Bradley and a lot more kinetic energy. Even with a 50mm, the tank is still more powerful.
Say what you like but German products can be outstanding but if you look at WW2 the quality was fantastic but it was too complex and could not be repaired quickly enough
The bigger the bullet unless you can carry no thing they need as I. Flame through Bradley show. They can clean out trenches. Carrie Morris troops is also a good thing. Why would you want less troops? Can you make me keep up full squad that way? Unless you apply more Bradley. So what's the plan against drones
By the time these vehicles are designed built and tested and put into service they will be obsolete. Its 2024 he said by 2027 three years doesn't sound like a long time but look how fast technology is moving. Just saying you but a new Brand new computer today. Within 3 to 4 months its just about obsolete. By that time the armor is develop someone will will already have designed the magic bullet (so to speak) to puncture it. When that happens what good is the armor.
The first 100 crews to be the engineers who came up with this death trap. It’s not meant to be a tank. Infantry is already reduced from 13 to 9. A 30 percent casualty rate before a shot is fired. Such BS. Oh then we have an EV vehicle to boot. What a night mare.
The EV part is the smartest thing ever. They will be able to charge up their battery while running their ICE engine, then turn it off and keep their electronics and turret operable for hours(I hope). This will reduce their heat and sound signature, and reduce fuel use, which in a combat zone costs crazy money and lives to get it there.
The M2 Bradley is a beautiful military vehicle, I want it to remain operational for many more decades, and never need to be replaced from the new military vehicle. And I want it upgraded from M2A3 to M2A4 Bradley!
I am so sick as a taxpayer spending trillions on military. We have no enemies To fight that aren't third world military. Russian Chinese military are nothing Threat to us. We can't even field an army because of men unfit to pass physical. These will get worse in next five to ten years. Will be 60 % Maned in ten year's. So who is going fill these machines maybe robots? All fighters will have to be drones yet will keep building and then parking in desert. The military doesn't want these machines built m1 Abrams That have no crew. Congress said don'tbe sad be happy we have to get our checks.
You really need to pay more attention to geopolitics. There is literally looming wars in two separate fronts that are very possible. Also, I don't like the CCP but respect and understand they are a very real threat that IS increasingly capable of fighting us in a real fight.

The Rheinmetall design, built on the KF-41 platform is very impressive and can be tailored to meet multiple mission demands.
My guess is that it will be as flexible as CV90's new versions, then maybe Bradly can be on par with CV90 again :P

The Warthogs gun is too big
Yea, you need to find where to fit all that ammo. Also, the Bradley is “outdated” according to the military.

They need to be drone proof nowadays. Even heavy tanks get stopped in Ukraine by them.

They picked the german one without the competition?

They make all of the main guns for the Abrams, too. They are the best in the world.
What? No Cummins or Cat engine? How corporate Americana no longer owned by American owners of you.
Rheinmetall will win all trials but they will still choose GD because of politics.
Commonality with the Abrams and Booker tanks. Saves $ in parts, training, etc.

I would just keep the Bradley and change it up some.
A lot of people got rich, and not a single current prototype.
Best comment
However, it not the contractors fault that the Army constantly changes its requirements because they made bad calls.

"US new M2 bradley replacement!" but, its made by a german company called rheinmetal

Send all prototypes to Ukraine for field testing before production.
But only with their own experienced crew to be sure that it’s used to its full potential.
it will be provide 10 to use before 2025
