Thank you for showing the minor goof up with the pin. You could have edited it out but I appreciate seeing how you fixed it and didn't panic. It's something anyone should learn.

First time comment, not that long of a viewer. Watching yours and Rex's tool making videos are inspiring. I'm in the process of building a shave horse/spoon mule and a Roman low bench thanks to you two lol. Please keep up the good work.

Great video . Theres a complete pre civil war era joiners chest full of tools on display in the New Orleans Cabildo . It's huge enough to fill the bed of a truck ! The tools within are amazing . Love your videos !

Building this plane would be a lot of fun and it would be a useful tool to own. I'm going to buy the kit.

Good evening James (or Mr. Wright, whatever you are more comfortable with)
That is again a very nice Video and i love it everytime to watch you!
Besides some pure Wood Projects i plan also some projects that involve a bit of Blacksmithing, Grinding and Welding. I want to build some Planes and try to use first time Classic bone Glue...
    With many Greetings Lara

Now that’s a cool tool that I could use right now. Making slide out trays for our bathroom vanity with no way to make groves for drawer bottoms. 😢

Thank you very much for the enriching video, and we not only learn techniques but also motivate us to do it ourselves.
I have a question, after heating the iron what was the liquid you used to cool it again?

This steel was 01 so we quenched it in oil. If it's a2 then you let it air cool

Awesome!. Thank you for this video. I just so happen to have an antique one of these, and now I know what it IS, and how to use it! It has stampings "Auburn Tool Co. Auburn NY" on one end, nd "7/8 No. 68" (at least looks like a 68) on the other end.. it was pretty rusted up when I got it, but a little bath in Evapo-Rust and some sharpening and cleaning, and it looks great, works great now that I know what it is for and how to use it. :)

Those curls are awesome. You should dip them in epoxy and turn them into drawer handles or something.
